Red Lobster was a 10/10 yesterday. David and I both had the Sailor's Boil with shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes. I played it safe with the butter garlic seasoning. David opted for the Old Bay. You know I love to use my app for discounts and coupons, so we got a free calamari app. Before David was born, I loved calamari. However, I couldn't eat it while I was pregnant (barfarama) and it is still difficult for me all these years later. So, I got seafood stuffed mushrooms for myself. They were YUMMY! And the butter garlic biscuits were the best I've had in ages. They were perfect and the seasoning was spot on. So good that I asked for a doggie bag and for the waiter to throw a couple more in, lol. David ate some of them for breakfast this morning. I even heard him bragging about how good the boil was this morning on the phone. I'm glad he enjoyed it so much. This was one of mom's favorite places to eat, and I'm glad we were able to honor her memory with some delicious food and togetherness. read more

This was my second visit here. The first time the restaurant was *severely* understaffed so there was a long wait to have orders taken and food served. Food itself was top quality . This time it was packed and the wait time for an open table was about 15 minutes, which was acceptable and understandable given the busyness. I had Parmesan crusted chicken and it was delicious! We love Red Lobster in Charleston, WV! We've been there twice in the past two weeks and are heading there again tonight. The food has been great. The service was a little slow on the first evening we were there, but the restaurant was slammed. The servers, both times, were very attentive to our needs. The atmosphere was a little loud, but we attributed that to everyone having a good time and enjoying themselves. This is our go-to place for good seafood in WV!! We love Lobsterfest!!! read more

Not the worst food, but not the best. I think the best way to put it is what someone at the table next to me said. She told her parents she likes seafood, so that's why she won't order it at Red Lobster. I think that's fair. Yes you can get seafood here, but to really enjoy it, they douse it with sauce or fry it. Fresh fish really shines when it is minimally processed, so that's not what you get here. I got the stuffed flounder, because I knew it would come covered in a butter sauce. You can see in the picture that it is absolutely drenched. That made it taste pretty good. I got cole slaw to balance it out and the cole slaw was good. My husband got shrimp scampi and crispy green beans. Turns out crispy green beans are fried! It was funny when it came out, because that was unexpected (he didn't read the description). It was heavily fried so I wouldn't recommend it. I do love their cheddar biscuits. It's perfectly salted. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Five stars for Mark. Not sure why this place has such terrible reviews, we had an EXCELLENT experience when we went last month. The service was phenomenal--I mean, the waiter made a note to pace our meal and make sure he brought out our food when it was fresh. We ordered the calamari and coconut shrimp and both were FANTASTIC--piping hot, excellent fry, the coconut shrimp had a great snap and a delicious creamy coconut dipping sauce. For mains, we split the New Orleans style salmon (added scallops) and had a side of crispy brussel sprouts--loved it all. Key lime pie and cheesecake to-go! We called and made reservations the day before our future daughter in law's pinning ceremony for RN school. The guy on the phone was super nice. We had an hour before she needed to be there. She had to leave with her sister before the food was ready. We asked for 15 mins for the food to be placed in to go containers so they could take it and eat on the way but still no food. Keep in mind they ordered chicken tenders, popcorn shrimp and hush puppies. Nothing major. There was maybe 5 other people in the restaurant that we seen. Evidently nobody could communicate with each other. I talked to the host twice and the waitress once. The host walked past me the first time and I had to say excuse me. The waitress was great and the manager was nice once she was involved but it was a little too late at this point. When I say SUPERBBBBBBBBB service. We had a server and a server In training. We were a party of 5 and everything that we asked for, they brought with a sense of urgency and made sure that our needs were attended to. My fiancé asked abou the sweet chili shrimp that wasn't on the menu and the server said that they could whip it up. What they brought out wasn't it so he took it back. The chicken itself had a good flavor and was tender, but the linguini Alfredo left a lot to be desired. The noodles where overdone and soft. The texture reminds canned chicken noodle soup noodles. The Alfredo had almost no flavor, which is sad considering Red Lobster is owned by the same parent company as Olive Garden. Had the ultimate feast while at a dinner with my family.(a lot of people, near 20) had a nice room all to ourselves off from the rest of the tables. I ordered the New York Strip, it was excellent but my problem was with everything else. I received barley a spoon full of I am sure what were instant mashed potatoes. The green beans were barely cooked and oily. I had also added a bowl of Lobster Bisque Soup. The cost was $7.89 additional. My complaint is, it came in the same small container as the mashed potatoes. I could not believe. There could not have been a half of cup in it. We haven't been there in several years because service was poor and prices are expensive. We just happen to have a gift card from a friend so we decided to go last night. Service again was mediocre, the basket of bread he brought us had an ant crawling in it, moments after we noticed that we seen several other ants on the table. They moved us to a different table, he did not apologize for having ants on our table. I realize it's not something he can control, however it's common courtesy to apologize for something like that. The manager came over and was apologetic and stated that they "seem to come through the windows". If you know the ants are coming in through the windows, how about calling an exterminator. The new "tastings" menu brings some new dishes but sadly they are mostly crap. The lobster roll is the worst of them. It is real lobster, real over cooked. Nothing else. No butter, no mayo. Just overcooked lobster on an English dog roll. When I say overcooked I mean I had to pull two of the 6 bites out of my mouth because they were hard like shell but it was actually meat not shell. The pot stickers are worse than any dumplings you'd get at any local Chinese place. Dried out. The dragon sauce broccoli was actually pretty good! It's just thinly breaded broccoli with a hoisin style sauce. Also, the captures salad was great. Better than the normal salad, which is pretty good to start with. The traditional stuff is what it is. Lobster bisque is decent-- rich, creamy and satisfying even without any chunks of lobster. Shrimp or crab pasta is fine without a ton of flavor. Some of the shrimp stuff is good. The first topic she asked me to talk about was my availability (I had filled this application out months prior to this so my availability was different then because I was on Christmas break) I told her I am looking for weekends Friday nights and Saturdays because the college semester was getting ready to start again and the clinical hrs. are ruthless. Okay so I've been to Red Lobster a million times, but I had never before been to this location. A friend and I were trying to decide between RL and Olive Garden and decided to go with RL for the cheddar bays. At first I thought the restaurant looked amazing. It looked really neat inside and different from most I'd been to. It wasn't busy at all and we were seated right away. The waiter took our drink and food order as we were ready, but then brought out our soup before even bringing our drinks or biscuits. This didn't really bother me until later when he became a terrible waiter. This is about to be a rant about bad food and service, and I feel I have a right to complain about the service because I was a waitress, and a VERY busy restaurant in an expensive resort, so I've dealt with my share of busy days and rude customers. I feel like I really have to put this in all caps: THE CHEDDAR BAY BISCUITS TOTALLY SUCKED, THIS HAS NEVER BEFORE HAPPENED TO ME, AND IT RUINED THE WHOLE MEAL. Like... Come on. People come here for those biscuits. When we got ours they were very flat-looking and the tops were kind of smooth and shiny. I don't know a lot about baking or I could tell you the exact problem; all I know is that they didn't taste the same at all, they were flat and cakey, and GREASY AS HELL. The clam chowder soup was amazing. My salad totally sucked. I got a Caesar, which I always get, and it had WAY too much dressing on it. After a few bites I really couldn't eat it, but I tried anyhow. The lettuce was really mushy (couldn't tell if it was bad or just drenched), and some of it was pretty brown. I ate 3 bites and gave up. I got the crab alfredo, and it was really good. So other than the biscuits (WTF!?) and the salad, the dinner was good. Finally at the end we waited FOREVER for our waiter to come back. I timed him. It was 15 minutes before he came back and when he did I didn't even get to ask for the check and he realized that he'd forgotten my friend's desert. Honestly I had to because I just wanted to get the heck out of there. So he brought the desert and we waited anther ten minutes just to ASK him for the checks. I was NOT happy. It sucks that we wasted a trip here because I would like to have gone to a local restaurant but we didn't have time to look one up and find it, and really just wanted some freaking cheddar bay biscuits. This has to be the single-most disgusting restaurant I have ever had the displeasure of dining in (red flag #1). I think darden restaurants have really declined over the years, especially the RLs here in this area. Although my visit was at the end (of what looked to be, judging from the filth) a busy Saturday night, I don't think i have ever had worse seafood for the money. The salad bar was DESTROYED, food and trash COVERED the floors, everywhere! There were no paper towels or TP in the bathroom. It was truly horrifying, and I have been a server at many, many restaurants over the years! We sat near the door and didn't truly get a feel for the magnitude of how awful the place was until we had already ordered. Busy weekend night or no, there is NO excuse for the place to be in such a state. We spent $70 (not including gratuity) and the seafood was all overcooked, the veggies were grilled far too long, the rice was hard and the crab legs were almost equivalent to what you get at your local Chinese buffet. I will never go to another Red Lobster as long as I live (the Huntington RL isn't much better, at least is cleaner!!) Sadly not many seafood choices in Charleston since moving here from Florida. Everyone said go to Tidewater. I have a few times, nothing more impressive than what this Red Lobster puts out, and RL is cheaper on the wallet. Every time I go I always have great service, because we always ask for the waitress that done so well the first visit. My husband ordered a filet mignon and it had so much gristle in it that Britnee R replaced it. Can't say enough good things about that girl! We saw the new RedLobster ad on TV for the cheesy Crab sandwich so decided to try it out. The wife and I both ordered the sandwich and clam chowder. Wow what a mistake. The chowder was as thick as mayo, grainy and horrid. The sandwich was dry almost no cheese and nothing like the TV ad. I went last Friday 9/9/16 which is the day before my birthday and my best friend decided to take me out to eat. We went in and were seated right away. Our waitress was fantastic. She always made sure we had drinks and fresh biscuits. We asked her what she thought was the best thing on the menu and she told us that they had the endless shrimp. My friend got that because he was wanting shrimp. Then she told us that the sirloin and shrimp was very good as well so that's what I ordered. They came out right after we finished our appetizer, which was fantastic, and my steak was exactly how I wanted it and my friend said that his shrimp Alfredo was amazing. Our waitress waitress was so nice and she was honestly the best waitress I've had anywhere in a long time.
