Coleslaw
Christina G.

Not the worst food, but not the best. I think the best way to put it is what someone at the table next to me said. She told her parents she likes seafood, so that's why she won't order it at Red Lobster. I think that's fair. Yes you can get seafood here, but to really enjoy it, they douse it with sauce or fry it. Fresh fish really shines when it is minimally processed, so that's not what you get here. I got the stuffed flounder, because I knew it would come covered in a butter sauce. You can see in the picture that it is absolutely drenched. That made it taste pretty good. I got cole slaw to balance it out and the cole slaw was good. My husband got shrimp scampi and crispy green beans. Turns out crispy green beans are fried! It was funny when it came out, because that was unexpected (he didn't read the description). It was heavily fried so I wouldn't recommend it. I do love their cheddar biscuits. It's perfectly salted. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Five stars for Mark. I do like the ambiance, it reminds me of New England, lots of dark wood and there are live lobsters in the tank at the front.

Food was delicious service is good but the waiter was loud the ambiance was comfy (THEY GOT RID OF THE CHECK OUTS AT THE TABLES)

Not sure why this place has such terrible reviews, we had an EXCELLENT experience when we went last month. The service was phenomenal--I mean, the waiter made a note to pace our meal and make sure he brought out our food when it was fresh. We ordered the calamari and coconut shrimp and both were FANTASTIC--piping hot, excellent fry, the coconut shrimp had a great snap and a delicious creamy coconut dipping sauce. For mains, we split the New Orleans style salmon (added scallops) and had a side of crispy brussel sprouts--loved it all. Key lime pie and cheesecake to-go! Best part was we went on a Friday night and didn't have to wait at all! The restaurant was clean and great vibes all around.

When I say SUPERBBBBBBBBB service. We had a server and a server In training. We were a party of 5 and everything that we asked for, they brought with a sense of urgency and made sure that our needs were attended to. My fiancé asked abou the sweet chili shrimp that wasn't on the menu and the server said that they could whip it up. What they brought out wasn't it so he took it back. Next ten minutes, here comes the manager Leann who personally whipped up the dish to perfection. This team really went the extra mile to make the experience a memorable one.

We had fantastic customer service. Ryan was awesome and he check on us at appropriate time to make sure we got what we needed. I would recommend going to South Charleston West Virginia for great service and good unlimited shrimp before it is ends.

Cajun Chicken Linguini Alfredo (Full)
Christina D.

Service was great. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Cheddar biscuits were fantastic as always. Lots of garlic and little gooey cheese bits throughout. The Cajun chicken Alfredo was meh. The chicken itself had a good flavor and was tender, but the linguini Alfredo left a lot to be desired. The noodles where overdone and soft. The texture reminds canned chicken noodle soup noodles. The Alfredo had almost no flavor, which is sad considering Red Lobster is owned by the same parent company as Olive Garden. For the price, I would pass and go to Crepizza across the road or Bricks and Barrels in Charleston.

An ant in our bread basket

We haven't been there in several years because service was poor and prices are expensive. We just happen to have a gift card from a friend so we decided to go last night. Service again was mediocre, the basket of bread he brought us had an ant crawling in it, moments after we noticed that we seen several other ants on the table. They moved us to a different table, he did not apologize for having ants on our table. I realize it's not something he can control, however it's common courtesy to apologize for something like that. The manager came over and was apologetic and stated that they "seem to come through the windows". If you know the ants are coming in through the windows, how about calling an exterminator. The least he could've done was offered a discount, but he didn't. Our bill was over $80 for three people.

Salad, blue cheese.

The shrimp was served cold. I hate cold food. The biscuits were hot but not done. Very disappointed.

They have several choices on the 3 pages of menus so it made it sort of difficult to pick my poison, so to speak. They bill themselves as modern Japanese. Not sure what that meant, but basically they play modern upbeat music and have a modern interior. They do have lunch specials during the week, but I didn't see many that were appealing as they're a combination of Chinese, Thai and Japanese dishes. They also had poke bowls for lunch, but I'm not so sure about that. Their sushi rolls appeared to be made mostly with cream cheese, which I'm not a big fan of in rolls, so those were out as well. I ended up ordering off of the dinner menu. I chose the grilled lamb chops and a side of steamed rice. I totally missed the 3rd menu which featured the sushi and specialty rolls. The lamb chops were ok, they did have a slight grilled flavor, but also another weird flavor like they weren't that fresh. Maybe customers don't order lamb chops here, as much as maybe they would at a fancy American or Mediterranean restaurant. Either way, I still ate them because I was hungry. I prefer the frenched rib chops better than the loin chop which is served here....since its a much tastier cut. In addition, it's usually more expensive. Overall, I don't see myself ever returning here since I'm also not in the area that much. Service was adequate as our drinks were refilled a couple of times and the waiter made sure to stop by and check on us.

This was our second visit to Kita for a casual lunchtime escape, and once again, it did not disappoint. In fact, my stomach was doing a little happy dance by the time we left. From the thoughtfully crafted dishes to the stylish and welcoming ambiance, Kita continues to impress. We shared three rolls, each one showcasing a playful balance of texture and flavor. The "Black and Yellow Roll" was a vibrant blend of salmon, avocado, cucumber, cream cheese, mango, and eel--sweet, creamy, and rich, yet refreshingly light. The "Fry Me a River Roll" was a decadent indulgence, with a medley of chopped fish and salmon paired with cream cheese, all deep-fried in a crispy spring roll wrapper--delightfully crisp on the outside and savory on the inside. Our favorite, though, might have been the "Surf and Turf Roll", a bold combination of panko shrimp, bacon, scallop delight, avocado, and asparagus, topped with seared ribeye and finished with a truffle soy drizzle. Every bite was a flavor bomb--luxurious and satisfying. All in all, Kita remains a go-to for a delightful sushi fix, and we're already looking forward to our next visit.

Just your usual chain Mexican restaurant with lots of space inside. We were seated instantly and there was no wait on the chips and salsa (the best part). Our server was attentive and friendly. We got the guacamole mexican style which was so good. I ordered the fajitas tropicales (which also came with rice and beans) and my husband got the molcajete. Restaurant is huge and even though it was quite busy, we were immediately seated. I had assumed it might be a bit slow since they were so busy. Not at all-I've never seen so many servers hustling so hard. Our chips and salsa were quickly dropped off while we studied the menu. Chips were warm and fresh and the salsa had a nice taste to it. We both opted for fajitas-one steak and one chicken. Both the steak and chicken were excellent in my opinion. Vegetables and meats had a nice tasting "simmer sauce" which produced great flavors. As I had mentioned the excellent service, drinks were never left empty. Also, this has never happened to me in a Mexican restaurant - the manager or owner was active on the floor and stopped by to insure or meal was good. It was better than good. A nice surprise finding Las Trancas.
