Red Lobster never disappoints. My partner and I had a seafood (and steak) extravaganza. We went big with a bunch of dishes. The Cajun Chicken Pasta was spicy, smoky, and totally hit the spot. Loved the kick! The Steak and breaded Shrimp combo was a winner - the steak was tender, the shrimp were plump and perfect. The combo dish with lobster, salmon, and shrimp (expensive but delicious). Lobster was fresh, buttery, like straight-up heaven. The Salmon was flaky, perfectly seasoned one of the best I have had. And the Shrimp with Rice Combo was simple but SO good. Our server was patient and friendly, and portions were generous. The Cheddar Bay Biscuits were got while we waited for our dishes were a highlight; they are basically the best part lol. The restaurant itself has lots of parking, which is a huge plus. Only thing was that the service got a little slow as we wrapped up, but it didn't kill the vibe. Overall, totally worth it. We visited Red Lobster last week for a birthday celebration as a family. The ambiance was welcoming, however, the interior of the restaurant seems a little dated and could use some attention. The booths are covered in fabric which is ripping and the carpeting seems matted down. The staff do try to keep things tidy which is great. Our waitress didn't have much warmth which made our experience less enjoyable but the food was great and arrived quickly. We would visit again just because the food is so good! read more

It was not cooked all the way we had to return it and she got us another one which wasn't bad but now baked potato should be . The lobster tiny piece was just there . The strawberry colada was good . We entered the Red Lobster on Bayfield with 9 people , they sat us right away with not one but two waiters ! They gave us our drinks very quickly and our food came fairly quickly as well. The one waiter was quite outspoken. When three of us ordered the chicken tacos (we all weren't the biggest fans of seafood but it was a Father's Day gift so we decided to eat there) the waiter blurted out "this isn't Taco Bell". The tacos were not too bad. The pico de Gallo had quite a bit more onion then I would've liked and my boyfriend's taco fell apart at the bottom. I ordered from Ted Lobster all the time, it's hit or miss. Somethings the crab is sweet and other times it's over cooked and tasteless. I am very disappointed because I ordered crab Alfredo and also the chicken Alfredo my last order and it was dry and barely had any sauce. I called and complained and was told they would send me a coupon for free meals , I waited 2 weeks and called back and spoke to another manager and to inform him that o never received a coupon tom them, he said he would take care of it however it's been 5 weeks and nothing!!! Went on Sunday night, they had run out of coconut shrimp, when the meal came the garlic shrimp was floating in a bath of salt and butter, it was terrible. It was like the a cheap microwaved dinner. We received free (delicious) bread as a greeting. That was nice! The bread was probably the best part of our visit. The main course we ordered and received wasn't bad. But, in my opinion, the portions we received were ridiculously small and unsatisfying. Considering the price and quality, I think we expected a more generous serving-size. On Wednesday June 27th with the bill time of 12:30 I had lunch at your location at 319 Bayfield St. in Barrie, Ontario L4M3C2. I ordered a selection with four items being clam chowder soup, salad and shrimp on a skewer. Shortly thereafter I became very uncomfortable and indeed over the last day and half I have been violently ill and unable to keep food down. I feel to a moral certainty the cause of my illness is shrimp served at the restaurant which was not fresh or fit for human consumption. This food was dangerous! I have the sales slip with all of the various numbers on it if that would be of any assistance. I noticed that most of the clients were elderly people like me and are especially susceptible to food poisoning. I would appreciate hearing back from you regarding this very important note. Sept 19th, my wife and my 18th Anniversary. She was not feeling well, so I thought that I would surprise her with her favorite dinner. I Went in to Barrie Red Lobster to the take out section to order our dinner around 5pm. There was just myself and my son. First off, they stopped selling our favorite appetizer: the bacon wrapped scallops, OK. So I ordered our usual myself: the shrimp Trio, no deep-fried shrimp and please exchange it with another garlic shrimp skewer, for the wife: a crab linguini Alfredo (most expensive of pasta dishes), but please exchange crab for scallops and we will pay the extra if required. Server states, we don't do substitutes, I said, you guys have always substituted for us for years, The server basically calls me a liar. She then snapped at one of her fellow co-workers to shut up cause she is trying to work. Really poor attitude for sure. I asked if she could suggest something cause my wife only likes scallops. Sorry not for me to decide what your wife should eat. That for a suggestion request? wow. I said I guess I will go somewhere else then, she replied: okay, bye. with attitude. Real unprofessional. I have been in the business for decades and have owned and operated dozens of my own restaurants, and yes franchises too, but now retired. This person definitely does NOT belong in the industry. Anyhow, no substitutions on items we have had substitutions on for years now; unacceptable. I unfortunately will not be returning to Barrie red Lobster; too many other place more willing to take my business. I too will be sharing my story to everyone. Food is fairly consistent and not horribly priced. I have to admit I rated a bit tough as they have removed many of the reasons I go there from the menu, replacing them with such seafood restaurant specialties as Buffalo wings and pork chops. I know you have to be a bit diverse and open to change...but, the name is red lobster, not red pig. The service varies from stupendous to slow, and there have been more than a couple of occasions where I have returned my plate for missing items, incorrectly cooked, etc. But, all said and done, Barrie is sorely lacking in regards to a food scene and this is a decent alternative. read more

Definitly not a fan of chains and i know why. Went with a friend and were sat quickly and then we sat and sat and sat and sat until i thought we might be invisible. Finally a server shows up and i ask a simple question. Is the seafood made fresh daily or shipped in precooked ? She said it was made fresh Next question. Does the food come looking like the photos or are the photos digitally enhanced like McDonalds ? She said it looks exactly like the photos. Food came and my first thought was that she had a visual handicap. Not even close to the photo. As fir the food, shrimp Kabobs were frozen rock solid in the middle, sear marks on the outside and slightly warm on the outside which led me to believe I was misled. Whatever has happened to Red Lobster?? Just not as good as it used to be. You used to walk in and be hit by that garlicky smell of food actually being cooked, not any more. I could have been walking in to my doctors office, no delicious aromas to stir the appetite. I guess that's what happens when you thaw and re-heat. We tried the Seafood, Lobster Cheese dip which did not look very appetizing but was "ok". The hot biscuits have definitely slipped a notch or three. We left 3 in the basket. The entrees were good but a bit salty. My grand son enjoyed his Mac and cheese ordered from the kids menu. The service was good, with one exception. I am a 73 year grandmother and really do NOT enjoy being called "dear" by someone just barely out of high school. Will I go back? I have to admit, Red Lobster is one of my guilty pleasures. We stop in to the Barrie location a few times a year on the way back to Toronto from a ski day at Mt St Louis. When you've worked up a huge appetite from a day outdoors, there's no better place to go. Service at the door is friendly and you get seated right away. Once you've ordered your drinks (and they have a big variety of mocktails and cocktails which I avoid in favour of their decent selection of "by the glass" red or white wine) the biscuits, those devilishly delicious, greasy, savoury tea biscuits that are served complimentary instead of bread, arrive piping hot to your table. Who can resist and have just one? Not I! I ordered the wood fired feast which had shrimp, salmon and a lobster tail served with your choice of sides which for me meant mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. My dining companion had a similar meal with scallops instead of salmon. Both meals came with a starter salad and by the time I had the very decent caesar and two biscuits, I wasn't that hungry anymore. I can't imagine anyone ordering additional starters and still having room for their main course. Our mains arrived shortly after our salad plates were cleared away. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My lobster tail was slightly overcooked but still yummy and the shrimp and salmon were perfect. I have to mention the sides because they were excellent-mashed potatoes buttery and fluffy and perhaps the best tasting brussel sprouts I've ever had in a restaurant-what a treat! I had to take about 1/3 of my meal to go as I was so stuffed and needless to say we skipped dessert. Throughout it all, our server was super prompt, courteous and helpful. Dinner for two with one drink each plus tax and tip was $100. I thought that was very good value for our experience. read more

I hadn't been to Red Lobster for over ten years, after my visit with my son I wish I had kept it that way. The one star I have given is one star too many. How this establishment, which prides itself on specializing in seafood can produce a salt laden, bland and boring plate of mussels boggles the mind. read more

I don't normally go to chain restaurants, but I was in Barrie and was hungry for some seafood (I don't know the city well). The staff was friendly. Our waitress (Kim) was great. She was cheerful, always attentive, and helpful. I got the Endless Shrimp. I was skeptical at first, but thought that I would give it a try. I have to admit, the shrimps were average, but I was glad that they were not too salty (I read that the Red Lobster in Toronto's Atrium on the Bay is really salty). Also, I got the baked potato plain, but came out with butter and sour cream. Kim immediately noticed it and wanted to rectify the situation, but I did not want to bother her cause she genuinely felt bad for the mistake. She was so nice that she made up for it by giving me double portions for the next order of shrimp. The food is average, but if you want good service, this place is pretty good. read more
