First time going to Red Lantern foot spa in Kingston NY. I went with my sister Darlene, to get a 30 minutes foot massage. The lady in front gave us a smile and a nice welcome hello. Lucy, and Lou Lou, gave us the foot massage. It was so relaxing, professional, I almost fell asleep. The man next to me fell asleep. My sister is ticklish. The two ladies were laughing. Such an amazing massage. I came after work and was already tired but I def fell asleep. The chair is also reclined so that adds to the relaxation. I felt bad because I heard myself snore lol. The front outside entrance may look a little outdated, but trust me, we had such a great body massage! A full hour for the both of us. They used hot stones and did many massage techniques (as opposed to just rubbing muscles). The front desk woman was so good and strict about covid rules. We accidentally walked in and she instructed us to wait in our car and she would come fetch us when it was ready. We came in 15 minutes early because we assumed we could wait inside. It's fine, it is much safer this way. Also, she sprayed our shoes so we wouldn't bring dirty shoes inside. She also immediately gave us sanitizer upon entering. The massage therapists were great! If your body aches and you need a massage, i would recommend trying them out since our experience was lovely. read more

This place is terrible! My husband and I got a babysitter so we could spend an evening out. Upon walking in, I liked the ambiance and the set up. I'm used to getting foot massages in various Chinese establishments around the world - New York, la, China, etc...this was easily one of the worst massages I ever received. For one hour, the man rubbed lotion all over my feet in basically the same motion over and over and at times barely using any pressure. I mentioned that he could use more pressure and was essentially ignored. My massage therapist also wore his mask under his nose the entire time. I don't know if we received terrible "in training" therapists but I was very disappointed. For the reasonable price, this was actually a complete waste of money. We want to support this local establishment but guess I will need to seek out other, better options. read more

Was not a full body massage and sure wasn't Swedish. 2nd person was male and received a male masseuse. Yes he should have asked for a change but was first massage and didn't know. Tried this place again today... don't know why I bothered. The person giving the massage was either rubbing hard on my vertebrae or violently jiggling my shoulder. Nothing else... as my head was all the way through the face hole of the chair and being pushed in to a metal bar. I left feeling completely perplexed and in more discomfort than I had arrived with. Your feet and legs are dried with towels; and the lower legs are massaged first. Next they wrap your right foot in a towel; recline your lounge chair; cover your eyes; and begin to massage EVERY PART of your left foot with a cucumber massage cream. When the reflexology-type massage is finished for the left foot (and you are asleep or almost asleep): they unwrap your right foot, wrap your left foot and start on the right foot. Just when you think they are done -- the hot stones come out and are massaged all over your lower legs and feet, including toes. But wait, there's more. A moist towel is rub on your legs, feet, and between toes to remove the massage cream. Your thighs are given a massage. Your legs are stretched and aligned. It was a deep tissue Thai massage and the woman got up on the table.They do this here! I have finally found not one, but several people who are as good, if not better. (Susan and Peter are amazing) The massages here are so much better than the fancy spa's in Rhinebeck, Poughkeepsie & Milton, and half the price. I've been here several times and have never experienced a massage like this one. I paid for a full body massage. He never once asked how he was doing or how it felt. He spent more time just leaning on the lower part of my back then he did massaging anything!!! The massage was lazy!!!! and when he was finished he didn't ask how it was all he did was whisper finished and walk out! i walk up to the desk to pay the woman asked me how it was and I was honest and not rude still tipped 20% out of pitty. she still didn't offer to fix my experience or compensate me in any way. We took a weekend trip to kingston and did some walking at walkway over the hudson. By the time we got back to the hotel, our feet/legs were so tired. I found this place on yelp and decided to make a same day appointment. They did a great job. The inside of the facility was a nice no frills place. The only reason they only get 4 stars is because I only went there once- today. If they are consistent after a few sessions, I will give them 5 stars.
