Pretty fun! I have done the Peter Pan one and the butchers basement, which is no longer available. In the Peter Pan room, there was an actor who was just there to "help" us get out. But she wasn't very helpful, she was a little rude and kept telling everyone what to touch and not to touch. I've done a few escape rooms, but this is hands-down the best escape room experience I've ever done. The puzzles, the size of the room, the actors in the room, everything was a 12/10. We did the Christmas Elf escape (which without giving anything away has a small-medium scare factor and requires being in some tight spaces), and the actors involved played their parts so well. Wow! I cannot express the funny my family had. We were welcomed in by Emily who told us to sign our waivers and directed us where to wait. When it was time to start we got to enter our room with our actor Esteban who was there to help us with clues, tips and tricks the entire time. He was awesome and a great actor who stayed in character! My mom has Leukemia and he was so incredibly kind to her. He remembered her name throughout the game and was so accommodating to her in the wheel chair and making sure we was involved. We enjoyed the hour escape room we had in Neverland and definitely want to come back to do Ministry of magic that's coming in a few weeks. The only con we really had was: The rooms were tiny, Totally understandable considering we had 10 people (my whole family) and my mom is a wheel chair. Really enjoyed it! Second time here. The actors do a great job. It's an hour long, tons of clues, definitely an escape room to go to to get a little more of an experience. A little pricier than other places to help pay the actor who stays with you the whole time. We did the Merlin themed room. Overall it was a great escape room. Tons of puzzles, and in a big group I thought it was smart that they weren't that linear, so multiple people could be solving different puzzles without always relying on weaker links. The actor there was great and a really nice touch. I hope other escape rooms follow suit, as their inclusion made it more fun and immersive. Nitpick: We were probably 90-95% done when our time was up. I think it would have been more fun and a better experience if they let us stay an extra 5 minutes or something to complete the escape room. But, that's not entirely on them, we just need to go with a better group next time :) It was expensive, but unlike many other escape rooms, it was worth it. Looking forward to going again. read more

I have no idea how this escape room has lower ratings than most other local ones, because it is SO obvious that this one is 10x better quality than any of the other places I've been (and I've been to a lot). All other escape rooms are so disappointing in comparison. These rooms are so fun and detailed and big -- we've done both Excalibur (didn't win) and Deep South (did win), and we felt like we were in a Hollywood movie set. Literally this place is the Disneyland of escape rooms while the rest in the area are Lagoon in comparison. But the difference is, this one is the same price as the rest! I seriously can't recommend this place enough. Other ones I've been to were tiny in comparison, and you either stayed in the one room or moved from one tiny room to a second. Here, each escape room consists of three large rooms that you move back and forth between. In addition to the incredible set design, you have a live actor in there with you who is helpful at times. This is another sign of higher quality -- other escape rooms I've been to just had some teenager watching us on camera from some other place (while probably watching other teams at the same time), with little to no help/interaction. Plus, other rooms I've been to are mostly just a bunch of locks that lead to a key to another lock that lead to a code for another lock. These ones are MUCH more creative than that. All escape rooms are a bit pricey for me at full price, but if you follow this one on social media, they're always posting great deals for their followers! read more

I loved everything about this place. We did the Excalibur escape room. We had a total of 12 people (6 were from my party and the other 6 from another group). We all worked together great to find all the clues we needed. The decorations were amazing. And our knight (actor) to guid us was fantastic. I do say the down fall to this was the rooms were pretty stuffy, but we did have 12 people. We were able to conquer the mission in 57 minutes. Best. Room. Ever. First, let me preface this review with a number of caveats: we do not play to beat the room (although it's always a bonus when we do!); we don't like leaving a room too soon because we pay for time in an total-immersion environment, and finishing a game too early just makes us feel a little ripped off; and we love it when our game-masters actually play - with - us - because being an escape room game master is the best job in the world, right?! That out of the way, we had booked Xenomorph: The Queen's Spawn way back in December, but the blizzard then messed up our plans (since then, we've played three sci-fi-themed rooms in row, not planned), and so, because they did not accept cancellations, we rescheduled just in time for the heatwave. We had to make their minimum booking for four, but even with that, it was worth every penny and tip! This was the first escape room we played that had live actors in the room with us. I don't know what we expected, but it was certainly not as much of an adrenaline rush as we had! Red Giant Escape Rooms was our first (another first) room in Utah. Those familiar with my reviews will know we like an escape room close to somewhere nice to eat and with plenty of free parking, since, for us, doing an escape room is usually the culmination of any day. Well, Orem, Utah, is not a dense city like the cities we are used to, so, while yes, there is a Chinese restaurant and some other businesses that share the same parking lot with Red Giant, it was not a priority for us to try out any other business there. We essentially spent our morning in Provo (having driven from our base in Salt Lake City) before we arrived in Orem just to pit our wits against Xenomorph! Escape room lobbies in Utah - at least, Red Giant - are set up quite differently from the ones in Southern California. Instead of just the usual puzzles, coffee and water being offered in the very spacious lobby, there was actually a vending machine on site, with Texas-born Dr. Pepper available, no less! So welcome in the middle of the heatwave we experienced during our visit! As it turned out, Red Giant seems to be affiliated with the Alternate Reality Rooms in Katy, TX (previously reviewed) - because when we signed our waivers, we found ourselves already in the system. After Zack got us checked in and we checked out their restroom - very clean, no complaints - we were shown the obligatory preview video advisory. It was only then that we realized the escape experience would have a live actor - in fact, two; and ALL their escape rooms have live actors! Also, our time in the room, their most difficult one (again!) was 75 minutes, instead of the usual hour! Talk about bang for buck! This story is straightforward: We, Special Forces Team Bravo, were sent to rescue chief geneticist, Dr. J. Larsen, who had been conducting classified research on the deep space station the Sulstromo, in quadrant LV-427, and recover his research at all costs. The room can accommodate up to a group of 10, and, with a solve-rate of 10%, so we didn't feel bad at all that we failed in our mission - spectacularly - with our little group of three! The room itself required the opening of a TON of locks, a lot of physical activity, a lot of digital dexterity - most things we try to avoid when playing a room, but, alamak, guys! - so much fun. So, so much fun. An added bonus: we didn't have to play with our masks on - and, boy, were we grateful for that! In the span of the 75 minutes, we must have entered no less than four different realities - and by the time we exited, our hearts rates were up and adrenalin pumping. The puzzles were not as linear as we understood them to mean, but Sergeant Jackson, who had been in the Far East for a while and so is a polyglot of sorts, was the best team leader; and Preston was the best lost doctor ever. Thanks to Zack for our mission-not-accomplished photo which came out great. So, so bummed we don't live in the vicinity, because we would love to go back to try out their other rooms - Excalibur, Deep South and Neverland. Lucky folks who live in the area! This was my second time doing an escape room. Other rooms does NOT have an actor to help us, and some puzzles were there to throw us off. The rooms at others went much slower. I went for my dad's 70th birthday. We did the excalibur room. It looked small, but once the first room was done, it opened up to a much larger room. The effect was good. It looked like it was actually from Camelot. Our "guide", Cameron, was an actor, and today was his first day, and second group. He did phenomenal. He did everything he could to help us win. We upgraded to the VIP, and got a sword, because it was with the room. We all received a certificate for what we did. I also liked how once a room was "done" we had to go back to solve more puzzles. It really tested our minds and problem solving skills. I also liked how all the puzzles were useful and moved us forward. The actor helped us a lot. We asked him questions to guide us. If we were stumped, he helped us put the peices together. I highly recomend this place. They also followed all the COVID guidelines. read more

We went with a group of 12 people and had a great time. We got to the final room by the time expired. I gauge escape rooms by their ability to keep multiple people entertained and engaged with enough challenge to last the duration of the hour. This exceeded expectations and we will be coming back for future rooms as they open. We are even tempted to go back to complete the same room in the allotted time. We got a discount group fare from Groupon, and pre booked a Saturday night for the Deep South- The Butchers Basement room. We booked 8 people, us and our adult children with their friends. We had an amazing time! The in game actor was on point and the game was very fast paced and exciting. But it was the difficulty level of the puzzles that really made for an exciting and challenging night. The in game actor- "Friend" was great, stayed in character the entire time and didn't just give us the answers. We were 2 steps away from solving the final puzzle when our time was up. We had so much fun in the Butcher's Basement! The whole set up of the room was really unique to some other escape rooms that I have been to. I loved having the actor there- he did an awesome job of helping us out when necessary but still staying in character. We only had a group of four and unfortunately only ended up being one clue away from escaping, which was a bit of a bummer but didn't take away from the overall experience. This should be really like a 4.75 only for a very minor issue that I will explain below. Ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you about Red Giant. I am a escape room enthusiast and try to do one everywhere I travel. As I am based out of Utah I have tried most of the big names in escape rooms here. Red Giant is, for me, the best. Firstly, the amenities are above and beyond the others that I have done, This is the first one that I have done that offers a snack and drink menu on site. Many times I have left an experience and been parched to only have a water fountain on site and then have to quickly leave to find refreshment, with red giant you have it all there. The best part for me is this place is brand new and I know that the owners vision will only expand and grow as time goes on. As for the experiences Red Giant offers VR experiences. I haven't done one of these here yet but what did catch my eye is that they had invested in the HTC Vive Pro i think. For those who don't know this is cutting edge VR equipment and makes me very excited to try one of the experiences. Finally as for the main event, my group attempted the Deep South room. To put it simply this is everything that I could possibly want in a room. There is a video that Red Giant posts on their website that explains what they believe makes a good room and they stick to that. This list is everything that makes an A+ room in my opinion. immersive experience, great set decor, creative puzzles, integrative technology, live actors, rooms that "expand" as you solve them. As someone who has done a lot of rooms there were many things to love. There were also unique puzzles that I have never experienced before which made it even more of a rich experience. A word of caution for those who are going to attempt this it is a difficult room, so bring your A game. Now for the minor gripes that I had. During the opening introduction the host and business owner had told us that this was not a single room experience and even laid out how many there were. I didn't see a point to telling us this. Part of the enjoyment of doing rooms is having the room unravel as I explained above and perhaps not knowing where the end is. Secondly with any tech heavy room there are always malfunctions of some sort and we did experience a few here. It should be noted that this was opening weekend that we went and so I am sure they were still working out the kinks. Those who haven't done a tech heavy room need to understand this is part of the territory and as long as it doesn't lead to failure its really understandable. My group did waste some time solving a puzzle that was already solved due to a malfunction but the puzzle was so unique that I didn't feel too bad about it. This room is also ideally done with about 6 experienced people, 8 if you are not an experienced team. I think with that many people you will have the perfect experience. It can accommodate more but things will get watered down greatly so be wary of that. One last thing about the room. The actor was great, stayed in character and helped us when we got stuck. kudos to him, please tip if they do a good job, also a unique characteristic of this room! Ultimately, I cant recommend this experience enough. I have already booked the next room, Excalibur, and look forward to the next one in the fall. The room had an actor in it to help us the whole time and the room extremely we'll decorated. It also felt like going into 3 different rooms because as the game progressed you enter a new section of the room you hadn't been in yet.
