Looking to do an escape room? GO HERE!…read more I'm visiting from California and had asked my Utah cousins if they'd want to do an escape room. Some were like "what the heck is an escape room?" while others were like "HECK YES!" We did: The Curse of the Black Rose. I have done about a dozen escape rooms by now, all over the country, and LET ME TELL YOU: Escape Gate is one of the best I've ever done. Hands down. I wish they had a location in Orange County so I could take everyone I've ever met! The staff is fantastic, for starters. The game? Freaking amazing. Very well designed, awesome decor, super creepy in the best of ways. This is also the first escape room I've ever done with a live actor and MAN OH MAN did that step it up a major notch! Loved it. DO IT. You'll love it, too. If you don't, well...I'm sorry for you. Seek help. (For the record - we should've escaped WAY sooner but we're FAMILY so we HAD to spend a LOT of time arguing. It's only natural.)

But she wasn't very helpful, she was a little rude and kept telling everyone what to touch and not to touch. The kids in the room with us were trying to help by looking through a journal and she took the book from their hand and put it back and said stop it. It would've been fun if we weren't being bossed around. The butchers basement was also fun, we had an actor in there too and he was way b

We were given some back story and basic instructions prior to starting the game. We were not told to leave a second door alone-we found that it was unlocked and led us out of the room. It was not part of the game, but probably unlocked due to fire code. The clues were tricky (we did the Infiltrated room) but not so difficult that we gave up. Our group consisted of three adults, a 14 year old boy and 12 year old girl. The kids were able to contribute quite a bit and help their parents figure things out. It definitely was a team effort!
