The deep-fried fish, Szechuan style, was my favorite out of all the dishes. Fried to perfection with the hint of spice on the batter. We also had many of their other dishes like noodles, fried rice, and veggie platters, but I had to list a few of my favorites. The restrooms need an upgrade, but other than that, food is delicious and I will be returning for more.

Now, prices even higher and quality is crap. I spent $52 on fried rice, sweet & sour chicken, and vegetable foo young the other night. Rice is ok, sweet & sour chicken is nearly all breading with very little chicken. The veggie egg foo used to be the best I'd ever had. Not anymore. Quality veggies have been replaced with 90% cabbage as filler, a few frozen peas and a few frozen carrots. Not only that, but they were round balls and raw inside. They went into the garbage. Have always loved the staff but, sadly, I wont be back.

The maocai was generally fine, and had a similar taste to the old Nine Way, though the meat quality was not as good IMO. However, the appetizer dish that we got which used to be one of my favorites (the spicy garlic pork belly) was awful. I don't know if it was just because it was frozen and thawed or something went wrong with the cooking or maybe it was just raw, but the fat on the pork belly was extremely mushy and honestly had the texture of wax or something. It was truly disgusting and I ended up just having to spit it out. Would not come back here--unfortunately even Noodle Nine is far better than this.

I've been twice now, and both times the food was really good. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and even with takeout, the food was still hot and delicious when I got home. You know the food is good when you open the container and start eating before you even finish putting everything away. The chow fun was one of my favorites! The duck was juicy, the roasted pork had that nice crispy skin, and the steamed chicken was bomb! Everything was flavorful and cooked really well. No complaints from this auntie. The service was good too, and honestly, I'm just happy to finally have a good Chinese restaurant in Federal Way! Sometimes I want Chinese food, but I do NOT want to drive all the way to Seattle just to satisfy the craving. Gas is expensive, traffic is annoying... we have food at home! The restaurant is on the smaller side, but it's not a big deal. The prices are a little high, but honestly, I feel like they're pretty normal for Chinese food these days. Overall, I'm really glad I finally gave May May Hong Kong a try. Good food, good service, and conveniently close to home. I definitely shouldn't have thought jajangmyeon as my first option but I was also super hungry and it was the cheapest thing on the menu, while I was also thinking it wouldn't take that long. Plus they were open early which was great as we were in the area around 10am! When we arrived, there was a older gentleman who greeted us then looked like he was prepping for the day. He can speak Korean and English just fine too. Once we were ready, we placed an order of jajangmyeon and egg rolls and he brought us out banchan. I did ask for more daikon but he seemed to have forgotten or maybe left as his daughter was there delivering food, tea and taking orders. She was a lot more attentive, she would check in on customers and was very friendly! Also it turns out that my boyfriend's friend who he has known since high school was that female employee, so for those saying the owners have changed, they have not. There is plenty of seating at this food court as well as other options from sushi, Korean food and and this spot that serves Korean-Chinese food. The lighting here is a bit dark but it is light enough to take different photos. It's not too cold nor hot either. You can also leave your plates, utensils and trash on the table and someone will come get it. The jajangmyeon was really good, I was surprised as I feel like there aren't too many places that have good jajangmyeon in Lakewood but I can say it is way better than the other places that serve in the area. I usually don't scoop up the sauce but it was actually really good. They offer kimchi, onion and daikon for their side dishes which I think is perfectly fine. They do offer refills and when I asked for more daikon, the kind female employee even gave me extra vinegar. My boyfriend said the egg roll was pretty good too. We look forward to coming back!

The other options like pizza, pot roast or chicken looked ok too. Plenty of seating, just need to be willing to walk around and look in all the side rooms.
