First time here. It was okay. I felt like the hot food was a bit greasy. The service was decent. They took our empty plates pretty quickly. It's in a plaza. Parking is plentiful but not well maintained. Parts of the restaurant needed a good scrub. There's lots of space for big parties.

Good variety of Asian foods to try

This buffet reminds me of those Las Vegas $10 buffets in the late 90s/early 2000s - which I loved. Large selections for everyone. There is plenty of choices. Price is affordable. A couple things I didn't like... 1) scallops were fake, made with cheap fish; they weren't scallops. 2) sushi had very thin pieces of fish... mostly filler items in the sushi selections. Most items were very fresh but a few things tasted like they had been out a while. Fresh food far surpassed the older items. One of my favorite items was surprisingly the baby bok choy dish. I think they called it "garden vegetables." Delicious. I didnt try it, but theres a Mongolian grill where you pick out everything yourself and the chef cooks it for you. Perfect for diners to get exactly what they want. The place is huge. Max capacity at 545. The servers kept dirty dishes cleared and tables cleaned promptly after left. The buffet was clean and people attending to it constantly. No messes or anything dirty. I got a couple desserts and those were tasty. They have lots of dessert options in addition to the standard buffets like multiple cold-pack ice cream, chocolate fountain, and even cotton candy machine. I would definitely return. It hit the spot for craving a classic Vegas-style buffet. Thumbs-up!

I was visiting a friend in Tacoma and got hungry, so I thought, "Why not stop by Harvest Buffet?" It's honestly one of my favorite Chinese buffets in the area. We came on the 30th for lunch and found out they're serving dinner all day during the last week of December--such a nice surprise! I went with family, and everything looked super fresh. I loaded up my plate with baby crab, sushi (eel and California rolls), crispy fish skins, fresh prawns for the Mongolian grill, beef brisket noodle soup, salt and pepper ribs, caramelized plantains, and some dim sum classics like chicken feet, siu mai, and dumplings. The place was busy but not overcrowded, and the staff kept the buffet well-stocked the whole time. Overall, great food and great vibes--I'll definitely be coming back.

Considering it's a buffet, the salmon nigiri and sashimi were pretty fresh. But outside of the sushi I was left a bit unimpressed. The point of the buffet is to enjoy multiple cravings at once but the only one that was really hit was sushi. The desserts were also lack luster and lacked general sweetness.

Forgive me, but I don't quite understand the hype. I visited this buffet today, and while the establishment itself is very large and visually appealing, the buffet area felt narrow and cramped. The food presentation looked promising, but unfortunately the quality did not match the appearance. I gave it a fair shot and tried several different items to make sure it wasn't just one dish, but the overall experience was consistently disappointing. The meats seemed like odds and ends--very tough, overcooked, and lacking quality. Many items relied heavily on basic seasoning, but even then, the flavors fell flat. One of my bigger concerns was food temperature. Some of the hot plates were cold to the touch, not even room temperature, which was concerning. On top of that, the air conditioning was blowing very directly; by the time I returned to my table, the food had already gone cold. I'm not a picky eater and usually enjoy most places I visit, but this was a miss for me. With improvements to food quality, seasoning, and temperature control, this place could be much better. As it stands now, I don't see myself returning.

Food Overall it is good for a buffet, lots of varieties that you can chose from. Nice dessert line. Service Bussers were quick to pick-up the empty diahes, were professional and courteous. Ambiance Pretty big place, kept clean, crowed with long lines, needless to say it was above average noisy.

A very popular buffet restaurant!! I've eaten here a few times when I'm in Tacoma visiting people, and this buffet is always recommended because it has something for everyone, no matter their taste!! Being a seafood lover, they had everything from sashimi to salmon to shrimp. I also saw lots of sushi, a grill area, and a noodle bar along with traditional buffet food.. The price was decent, $25, and we only had to wait because we had a big party of people!!

$25 for all-you-can-eat buffet with desserts, seafood, dim sum, hibachi, sushi, etc. Could not ask for a better deal. the sushi here is the best of any buffet-tier sushi that I have had with its multiple arrays of flavors and styles. Service is good. The placard that you can turn sides over to show the bussers whether or not you were finished is truly so profound. Especially useful when I would go out to the bathroom, get something in my car, etc. I ate here BY MYSELF, and I felt safe with the items that I would need to leave behind before I departed from my table. the personnel who served the food were especially welcoming with a greeting, wave, and the question "Is there anything else that you want?" after each task completed. the buffet is the biggest that I have ever seen with a main room right by the catering tables, a room with karaoke/DJ/dance floor specifically for reservation parties, and two annex rooms for extra tables and chairs. such a lively atmosphere with diversity in the people and the occasions that they were celebrating. this place is too good. After eating dinner on a Friday night by myself because I passed my Army Fitness Test, I decided to treat myself out again for a $16 all-you-can-eat lunch here, and was once again, impressed

    Serious about cleaning.

Here are the pros and cons. Pros: There's a variety of food stations so everyone can have their pick. This is where I go to eat unlimited shrimp w head on, baked mussels, and soft shell crab (only offered at dinner). Their soups are always good too. They ran out of my favorite baked mussels and I didn't think they'd refill it because it was almost closing time. When I asked, the nice guy behind the counter put out a whole tray! Overall, the Asian food is good. They hose down the place after hours. Literally. See photos. Cons: Don't bother going on Friday-Sunday nights. The place is always packed and the crowd outside can be rough around the edges! The location is questionable and there are always sketch people hanging around. They had security at the door last time I went (Wednesday night). Another con is that they don't offer my faves at lunch time. I would also skip the sushi and the grill. The sushi doesn't taste fresh and they often overcook the meat at the hibachi grill.

I was talking to a friend about reasons to visit Renton and one of the things that reached my mind…read morewas Feast Buffet. Located in the Renton Shopping Center near Fred Meyer, this buffet has really surpassed the test of time. I remember coming here when I was a kid during important family events, however I think the last time I came was around 10 years ago! I think it's pretty safe to say that things have remained consistent over the past many years. To be honest, I'm not a big buffet person - I feel like the quality of the food is often traded for quantity and at my big age I really cannot force myself to eat more than like 2-3 plates of food anymore. But I will say, Feast definitely exceeded my expectations! It has a lot of great asian choices, as well as options for children/people with different palates! I've was a huge fan of the sushi/seafood options, especially the salmon sashimi they had. It was SO fatty I had so many bowls of it. There wasn't really anything that disappointed me, though the crab/lobster line was long (as expected). Staff were kind, and were pretty consistent in clearing out my table and I thought everything was pretty clean! Honestly I'm tempted to return (maybe for lunch since it's cheaper) but I do think that Feast Buffet is definitely a gem of Renton.

Feast Buffet or East (not King lol) Buffet?! IYKYK…read more I was on travel to work with a team up in Renton, WA, and they went out for a lunch buffet here during my time up there. I was intrigued at the name Feast Buffet, but moreso because I had been to an East Buffet the previous year close to where I live, hence the first line of this review. Feast Buffet is located in Renton Shopping Center on the west side of Rainier south of Sunset. If you know where the Fred Meyer is here, Feast Buffet is on the opposite end of the plaza. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a rather spacious lobby where you can see a TV that shows the pricing for both lunch and dinner. We went on a weekday at lunchtime, which is the cheapest option at $24.99 per adult. Weekend lunches are almost 50% higher, but the same price as dinner on Mondays thru Thursdays. If our team had gone for dinner on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, we'd be spending an additional $20 more per adult! The lobby also had some nice decor. Even though I posted this review in January (I was on a brief review hiatus), our visit was back in November, and they had some snowmen decor by the right wall as well as a Christmas tree by the check-in counter. The selection is incredible! Much more than what I was expecting that I circumnavigated the buffet area like a labyrinth. I was hoping to start off with salad, but accidentally started off with some cold seafood before I was able to find the salad bar. Don't forget to grab some utensils! They're located by the salad bar. Our team sat at a side dining area akin to a banquet hall with a huge TV on the end closer to the front door. We were on the far corner, and one of the TVs was not functioning, unfortunately. There are three drink dispensers in the beverage section, but I made the mistake of getting a coffee cup for a Pepsi Zero Sugar LOL. There are taller blue cups that I should have gotten instead, but one of my tablemates noticed a leak in her cup and informed a staff member about it. As with any buffet, one of my grievances is that they spread themselves too thin that the quality of some of the foods is sacrificed, and that is the case here, though not nearly as much, fortunately enough. Only the Mac & Cheese was the most forgettable after my first two plates; I probably would have preferred the macaroni sitting on the top layer of the heating well. The fruits were also not fresh, though I can't say I was expecting them to be. Otherwise, most other food items were good enough for buffet standards. As I was getting some sushi, I got some wasabi, but didn't see soy sauce. When I asked a sushi chef where the soy sauce was, he replied that it was on the tables albeit in a rather condescending manner. Okay, so my bad on neglecting to notice the first time, but this is how I get treated as a visitor from out of state?! I got some cuts of meat at the same time, but one of them was full of fat and/or gristle! The noodle bar stood out to me most because I don't ever recall seeing a noodle bar at any other buffet! It's kind of similar to the Mongolian BBQ station where you select your raw toppings and hand them to the chef, who cooks them for you. In the case of this noodle bar, you select from one of four broths: Wonton, Udon, Beef Brisket, and Tonkotsu. Just let the chef know which of these four broths you'd like, and they'll cook it for you! One drawback with this station is that if there are multiple customers' ramen bowls being cooked simultaneously, you may end up grabbing someone other customer's bowl. I also got to try some cotton candy, and that's only because as I was walking by the desserts section, there was an employee finishing up a cotton candy. Since there was no other customer nearby, I simply waited until she handed me the cotton candy. Otherwise, there will be a stand with holes that will hold the cotton candies. And for the (real) dessert, I went with a small bowl of cookies & cream ice cream. I made the mistake of attempting to open a stationary glass panel, thinking it was a sliding door of an ice cream chest LOL. An employee noticed, and I had to tell her which ice cream I wanted, though I also had to ask her what the flavors were since I didn't see any flavor labels. Ice cream was pretty good! Good way to round out a decent lunch buffet! One thing I didn't like was how inconsistently non-punctual they were at picking up plates. I know I shouldn't be comparing, but there was a time when I had three empty plates next to me that weren't picked up! Yet after my first plate, I saw it was taken away when I came back for seconds. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Feast Buffet, and I would prefer Feast Buffet over East Buffet even though I actually gave both the same rating. However, East Buffet is lower than a 4.0, but I'd rate Feast Buffet higher than a 4.0, though not that much higher to earn the 5th star. Nevertheless, if you're looking for a feast of a buffet, look no further than Feast Buffet!

(FYI, for weekends and holidays, you'll be charged the dinner price all day). Since it was our first time, our server kindly explained how the ordering system works. You place your sushi orders through one phone with a limit of 15 items every 15 minutes. Drinks and refills are recommended to be ordered directly through your server so they don't take up item slots. Even if you order less than 15 items, you still wait the 15 minutes before placing another round. It sounds a little confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple! One of the cutest parts of the experience was having our food delivered by a little robot server with a cat face. Just make sure to grab the food from the section glowing blue so you don't accidentally take another table's order. Super fun and honestly memorable! By the time we were getting full, my family joked that the cat face looked menacing, because we were hoping no more food would be brought to our table lol. The orders don't all arrive at the same time and some can be delayed, so I'd suggest somewhat trying to keep track of your orders if you don't want to go overboard. The sashimi was delicious and the portions are HUGE, so definitely pace yourself because they do charge for leftovers. My son got a little too excited and overordered, so we ended up paying the leftover fee. However, I was genuinely impressed that Sumo Sushi actually allows you to take leftovers home, even with the fee included. I mean, you'll have to pay the fee either way, but I've never been to an AYCE sushi restaurant that allowed leftovers as takeout before. I really respect how serious they are about reducing food waste. They also have a small buffet section you can grab already prepared/cooked food from while waiting for your sushi orders. My absolute favorites were the miso soup, seafood boil(?), and the tempura fish that lives rent free in my head (I should have asked if I could order that fish for takeout!). They also had other hot foods, meats, and seafood options that were tasty. The dessert section was more basic (flan, jello, fortune cookies, etc.), so I skipped dessert this time (besides the fortune cookies hehe). The service, in general, was fantastic. While we were dining, a child nearby celebrated a birthday with their family and the staff went ALL OUT singing happy birthday with light-up decorations and so much energy. It was adorable and way more effort than most restaurants put in. My only small critique is that the "French Fries" listed on the menu are actually sweet potato fries. They tasted good, and I normally like sweet potatoes, but it definitely caught us off guard because it wasn't what we expected. When we left, the staff kindly said goodbye to us, including an older gentleman near the door who consistently seemed focused on customer service and even asked if we wanted condiments packed with our leftovers. We had such a lovely experience and I would consider Sumo Sushi as probably one of the better AYCE sushi spots in the area. We'll definitely be back!

This custom was preserved in Sweden and gradually evolved into the Smörgåsbord (Scandinavian cold buffet), which is the direct and continuous ancestor of the modern buffet. · France (18th-19th century): The French adopted the word "Buffet" (originally meaning a sideboard or serving table) to describe this self‑service style of dining and promoted it among high society. · Perfection in Japan: The modern buffet model we know today--featuring cold dishes, hot dishes, desserts, and a wide variety of options--was established by the Imperial Hotel Tokyo in 1958. · Las Vegas: The now‑popular "all‑you‑can‑eat" model originated in Las Vegas, USA, in the 1940s. Casinos offered cheap or even free buffets to keep gamblers on the premises, a strategy that quickly became widespread. · Introduction to China: The buffet was introduced to China in the 1930s, initially appearing only in foreign‑funded hotels. Taste: There is a huge variety of options, covering dozens of items including Chinese stir-fried dishes, Western food, Japanese cuisine, teppanyaki, fruit, seafood, salad, as well as drinks and ice cream. I mainly tried the Chinese stir-fried dishes, boiled shrimp, and teppanyaki. Considering the price per person, I think every item met my expectations. Service - unexpectedly good: From asking how many people in our party at the entrance, to guiding us to a table and asking if the seat was comfortable, to explaining the dining process, and clearing plates during the meal - all of it was very good. Room for improvement: Some of the items are pre-made dishes that only need simple deep-frying or grilling. Pre-made dishes can be categorized into a few types: easy to cook, easy to eat, easy to heat. Based on my experience in the industry, the essence of pre-made dishes is really an issue of trust. If the selection is done properly and customers don't experience any adverse reactions after eating, then it's a good business.
