Both are worth the try and they also sell their bottled beers at the brewery! Service not the greatest or welcoming. The server described the beer as "that one is hard to describe" is it a IPA Or Lager? Also, never once came by to ask if we wanted anything again or offered anything. He was too busy with his friends serving them. For dog people, we sdat out in .the heat with our dog. They let your dogs on the outside patio when you think its inside. A cat and a dog roam inside but your pet isn't allowed. So if it has to do with the restaurant portion, animals are inside the establishment. Also. They let aggressive dogs inside, and our 6 month old 16lb puppy was almost attacked by a big pitbull who the girl couldn't even control. Its likely to think the dogs they allow will injure a person, kid or another animal. The beers are not that good, cold or anything special. It's your typical hipster brewery with no good service. We went on a Wednesday night and sat at the bar. The outside patio was busy on the warm summer night. They have board games you can play...we chose connect four. I ordered a local pinto grid and my friend had a local beer. Both were good. You can get pitchers of beer and carafes of wine. The food was excellent. We had the pretzel knots with delicious beer cheese. The pretzels are homemade. The salad was made with fresh ingredients. The veggie pizza had homemade dough and fresh veggies. It was delish. One of the places to hit for craft beer (the other big one being Noble Pig) in Kamloops. Parking is available along Lansdowne. The tasting room here is so large that one would think it's more like a gastropub. Nope. There's no food here. Just beers. There were some people playing board games here, but the place seemed almost a bit too large, which gave the room an empty feeling. And this room doesn't even include the large outdoor patio. Guess the rent here must be cheap. With that said, this place can easily accommodate groups of 20 or more. Beers here are reasonably priced ($5 or so), though growler fills are pricier at $12-13. They also have a fridge of pre-bottled beers. I tried a flight. Maybe I was a bit biased at the time as I had just come from the Noble Pig, but the beers here didn't seem too special, other than the Tripel. And I'm not talking about the 9% alcohol content either. The coriander in this one definitely stuck out compared to the other 3 beers I had. This would be the one I would recommend. Of course, I didn't try them all either, so maybe there's something even better on the menu board. Definitely worth a trip out, along with the Noble Pig. read more

I am very interested in the growing culture of craft beers and like to try different flavours when I can. I look for this company's tap handles wherever I go now. They have had many successes (in my mind) with theirs flavour endeavours. I recommend the Dubbel to anyone who is interested in a lighter flavoured dark beer. I feel it has a "more than one feeling" I look for in darker beer. I have had the ginger rye twice now and while I feel it has great flavour it seems to lack my personal bubble needs. And I will admit, there ipa is very unique and consistent. Keep up the good work ! read more

Nice beer on tap. Unfortunately, 2 beers are sold out (double dubbel and marzen) when we were there. Staff are attentive and responsive. Friendly and laid back atmosphere. The food/tapas list is not extensive so be prepared. Kitchen is within typical service time. Cannot say say about their food quality as Terra took over their restaurant when we were there today. Lamb burger ran out by 6:20pm? That's ridiculous. Plenty of seating for everyone. We just wish there is more eating options. read more

Awesome spot in Kamloops. Decent sized patio, with a lot of sunlight. They have an awesome cherry sour, and said they are getting a locally sourced apricot sour for the summer. Overnight stay in Kamloops at Plaza Hotel, I was exhibiting late stages of hanger (hunger anger) when hubby suggested to give the place a try. At first, just looked like a place to have a drink, upon closer look, they have a decent menu. Ordered the pizza and wings, neither disappointed. The wings were the best we have had since visiting Canada. I tried the cherry sour ale which was quite tasty (always looking for beers with low IBU). Asked the server/bartender if place was dog friendly as there is a large picture of black lab in front of some kegs and found out it was. Even more plus for the future when we bring our furbaby with us. Thank you Red Collar Brewing for satisfying thirst and hanger. We will come back with our furbaby next time. read more

Red Collar Brewing is a strong addition to the British Columbia micro brewery scene and is an excellent spot to drink and enjoy the company of friends in Kamloops. Red Collar's biggest strength (to no surprise) is the great beer, they usually have around 8 varieties at any given time. Ranging from the lighter Blonde (IBU 32) to the darker I.P.A (IBU 78). I've tried probably at least 10 unique types of beer and have never been disappointed. If you're new to the beer scene, ask to have a sampler (flight) that affords you the opportunity to try 4 types of beers. my absolute favourite Red Collar beer has to the White IPA (IBU 52), it's strong while also being very refreshing, sadly it's usually only available in the summer. Another strength is the friendly, knowledgable staff, don't hesitate to ask them any questions about the beer. There's also a lot of fun to be had playing a board game from the many options avaiblable. Great hip music is always on and it adds to the lively atmosphere that's refreshing for Kamloops. So if you're a local who hasn't been or a visitor who's exploring Kamloops, go to Red Collar Brewing for the beer but stay for the atmosphere. My husband is from Kamloops, so we find ourselves heading up there to visit every few months. We normally go to the Noble Pig to get growler fills, so we were happy to learn that a new brewery opened up in town. Red Collar Brewing Company has a huge tasting room. It has a rustic feel since it is full of large wooden tables. If you want to enjoy the sunshine, you can also sit out on their patio. They also have a selection of board games available if you want to play a game while you enjoy the beers. If you want to come here with a group, they definitely have the space for it! However, they don't offer any food here from what I could see. I know some breweries in Vancouver have agreements with food trucks or other restaurants where you can order their food and enjoy it in the tasting room, perhaps Red Collar can try this out? As for the beer, they have a lot of different offerings. From a hefeweizen to an IPA to a tripel, Red Collar has got you covered. You can enjoy a tasting flight or a pint in the tasting room, take home cold pre-bottled beers, or get your growler filled here. My husband very much enjoyed their IPA and Dubbel beers. I've also seen their beers pop up in a few specialty liquor stores in Vancouver, so it is nice to see that they are getting their product out there! If you're in Kamloops, you should stop by Red Collar Brewing Company and try out some of their beers. read more

Red Collar has really grown on me. When they first opened up, I was skeptical. Could Kamloops really support another brewery downtown, especially one that doesn't serve food? Well after giving it a few chances (and them adding a limited food menu), my answer is a strong yes. This is the brewery I didn't know I wanted. I've yet to have a beer here that I didn't enjoy, though there are some that I've enjoyed more than others. I'm a big fan of the coffee flavoured Dubbel. It's pretty rich so I usually can't drink more than one in an evening. Another recent favourite is the sour apricot. I'm not usually a fan of fruit beers but this one is so unique and interesting. I think it might be a seasonal so get it while you can! The tasting room itself features a fairly minimalist decor. They have board games available if that's your thing and if you get lucky, you might catch a glimpse of Goosey, the lovable black lab who Red Collar is named after. I was also really excited to find out that they have a heated outdoor patio which is awesome on crisp fall nights. My only issue is that the tasting room kind of turns into an echo chamber on a busy night. Even though the music is normally turned down to a reasonable level, it can get really loud in there to the point when you have to speak loudly, even with people right beside you. Overall i'm really impressed with how seamlessly Red Collar has managed to fit into the community. It seems like it has always been here and I'm glad that it seems to be here to stay! read more

Took one bite and then no more, the hot wings were disgusting, the lemon pepper had a weird smoky flavor (my friend tried them...I was so repulsed by the hot wings I did not try the lemon pepper ones) they were slimy and I honestly don't think I've had worse wings ever, gross. Had the burrito, which was okay...a little bland if you didn't put the salsa and sour cream on it (salsa was actually quite good, just tiny portion) The cider was good, only one kind, service was decent. This brewery could be in any city, anywhere and be successful. Good beer and a good staff will take you far. Unfortunately, their mascot has gotten too old to spend much time at the brewery, so I didn't get to meet their faithful brewdog. I was surprised to see that they have food - most breweries don't back in CO. Although, in Kamloops, where exactly would you go for a quick bite after... A&W? The nachos and pizzas I saw go by at the bar looked good, and I can confirm that the smoked wings they have on Th/Fr are delicious. Let's get to the main reason you'll come here: the beer. I tried every single one on tap, and each was a quality product. From pale ales with different hop bills to fun beers like a Rye & Ginger Pale or a Cherry Sour, everything was good. My favorites were absolutely the Mild and the Trippel. Mild is an under represented style, so it was nice to find a quality example here. The Trippel has an abundance of yeast character and a nice pop of coriander, while avoiding being a sweet mess like some examples. I don't know exactly when I'll be back to Kamloops, but one of my first stops will be here. Great place to get a beer. read more
