Went for the cider cheesecake tasting it was great, I recommend as a date night, they also have huge yummy pretzels.

5oz cider flights. My favorite is the caramel apple crumble

My new favorite place in Charlotte! Went on a Friday night, not crowded early in the night but as it got closer to 10 it started to get more crowded. The employee working was so nice, she let us sample anything we had questions on and educated us on the different cider flavors! Everything is brewed in house. We ordered pizzas (gluten free and regular) along with nachos. The pizzas were the star (other than the ciders, of course)! We did not have a cider we didn't like! The vibe inside is super cute too.

We love ciders for many reasons but the two most important are they are gluten free and they have sweeter ciders. The inside is small and there is some outdoor seating so be wary with large groups. There are about 5 tables inside. We have always found a seat when we stopped by. We love sweet and semi sweet options so we need to have variety. My significant other enjoys the standard options but typically the seasonal flavors add more sweetness like the peach crumble. It is next to a light rail stop so it's pretty convenient. Definitely worth a stop to get some good cider with some variety.

Nice break from Charlottes amazing beer selections! Evan did a fantastic job of helping us select a few ciders, to not only sample, but to take home for Thanksgiving! No matter if you like sweet or dry, there is a variety for all! We took 12 cans home

My first time to a cidery and it was a good experience. Me & Dale met up with two friends here on a Sat evening during Covid. They enforce social distancing and wearing of masks. I tried the Blackberry, it was good with just a hint of tart. The staff was great and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. They sell a lot of their ciders in cans to go. In addition to a broad selection of ciders, they also sell beer and wine. Their kitchen is closed but they don't mind if you bring food in. Plenty of free parking and easy access to I-77 of Clanton Rd.

I don't know what to say about Red Clay Ciderworks other than you need to go check it out. If you like cider, beer, wine, or even none of those things you will still love the cider here. I came with a group of people and between us we tried every single thing they had on tap that day. Each cider was better than the next. They even had some cider slushies that were yummy and refreshing. Service was great as well. Just wish they had more parking.

Feels like family. One of the partner handled us how he turned his garage hobby to a growing business. It was actually inspiring. He dived deep into the science, creativity and the business aspects of Red Clay. Also allowed some time for questions. I really enjoyed it. His sister was the bartender and she very sweet and welcoming. The cider is delicious and so many unique flavors to try. Pineapple/jalapeño, Gin&juice, unfiltered Cider, Currants&mulled spices, etc. They are mad scientist with their ciders. I cannot wait until they start selling up North.

This was my girlfriend and mines first time here and we loves it! We had tried one of their ciders in Asheville and wanted to check out the cidery in person. Let's just say it did not disappoint! We each did a tasting that way we could try as many as possible and loved them all. the blueberry cobbler was probably my favorite. The staff was nice and explained a lot about the cidery to us and answered all our questions. My favorite part is that we can bring outside food inside and make a whole experience out of it! Can't wait to go back soon...

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! Can you tell I really love this place? If you haven't guessed already, I do. I had heard many things about RCC through Charlotte blogs and other social media, so once I noticed a Groupon for this place I finally had the perfect excuse to go visit. The groupon included a brewery tour, two glasses of cider, and two logo glasses (FYI, the brewery tours are free for anyone). We enjoyed the brewery tour and learned a whole lot more about cider than I thought already knew. After we ordered a flight just to get an idea of everything we had. The Cherry Trolls cider really is as good as everyone says. Nice and fresh with a sweet ending. The jalapeno/pineapple one had a surprising amount of jalapeno flavor in it, yet without the heat. The blackberry one was good without a lot of sweetness to it, which was wonderful as well. The coffee one just wasn't for me, but if you love coffee you'll definitely enjoy it. After our flight we went back up to order our drinks. I ordered the earl grey and while it sounds strange to use tea in a cider it was absolutely fantastic. If you're a tea drinker you'll enjoy it as much as I did. Fair warning, you might want someone else to drive you there that isn't planning on drinking. Before I knew it I was more tipsy than I planned on being. I drank everything way too fast. Then again everything was so delicious it's hard to take your time drinking. I'm very much a wine person and not at all a beer person. For once it was nice to enjoy the brewery scene without being the person not drinking. The service was top notch and the atmosphere was very casual and welcoming. I'm planning on visiting again soon, there's still a lot of ciders I wasn't able to try.

Super yummy cider. Great variety. Offer flights or small 5oz glasses if you want to build your own samples. Good small bites from the kitchen too! And dog friendly patio seating!

Competition shuffle board with manual scoring for shuffling or curling as you see fit.

From my second waterbed to my current physique I have been a soft-sider, now that I've sampled some enhanced apple squeezings I can see how a hard cider has a certain appeal. Have been in a couple times and I am quite pleased so far. Parking is sufficient in the evening when the neighbors go home so getting in is pretty straightforward - be aware that the access ramp is on the left. Once inside you'll have plenty of room to roam and a variety of seating options: the bar or hi-tops or table-height tables and it looks like someone has forgotten part of their family room here and left some of their amusements too; a significant shuffle board and some friendly board and dice games and there's a few TV's hanging around as well. If not for the commute I could get used to being here. Well mannered dogs (and other little friends?) are also welcome.

    Cherry boppin $6

I was lucky enough to find a Groupon for $24 which included pints, take home pint glasses, and a tour for 4 people. That's $6 per person for all of that! We came on Thursday right after opening and the place was empty. We tried a few ciders.. ultimately I picked the cherry bobbin because it was one of the sweeter recommendations. I definitely got hints of cherry.. I also had a sip of the blackberry cider which was equally as good. There are a variety of ciders from sweet to extra dry. Each cider is $6. It's fun to grab a cider and play some shuffle board. Also offered are some board games. We ended up skipping the tour as we didn't have time.. but the groupon was still a good deal because we got to take home some souvenir glasses.

Ask the Community - Red Clay Ciderworks

Is there a light rail stop close by?

Scaleybark Station is the closest. You do have to walk about 1/4 mile from the stop (there are sidewalks).

    Is this place Kid friendly?

Yes! They have non-alcoholic beverages, board games and it's a low-key environment.

Is food served? If not, is it ok to bring outside food?

Yes! As of July 27th we opened a kitchen headed by Jeff McElwee and FūD of Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives acclaim! Come try a Wafflewich!

Is this establishment wheelchair accessible? Are the restrooms accessible like with enough space to turn around with a wheelchair and a grab bar on the wall?…

Red Clay is accessible, big ramp up the left side and pretty roomy inside. Table-height tables as well as hi-tops and the bar. I don't remember the restrooms being cramped but I am hardly in a position to make a valid assessment.

Each standing table also had an empty tray to discard shells. Ample supplies were on hand - shuckers, gloves, paper towels, hot sauces, cocktail sauce, and saltines. Beverages were available for purchase - a selection of ciders and wine, soft drinks and bottled water. Many of their regular menu options are not served in the winter, but we find that to be a good reason to go back during peak season. All service was self service - walk up to the bar or walk over to find any oyster shucking supplies you may need. Souvenir glasses were also available. The staff who checked us in on arrival were kind enough to suggest we take those after our feast to avoid having to keep track of a pint glass while focused on our oyster shucking. A couple of fire pit spots were available and there were picnic tables under a covered shelter set up in the event that inclement weather moved in. It is truly a Windy hill - it's always windy when we are here and this event was no different. Live music was on hand - a solo artist with guitar whose name I didn't catch, but he was very talented and did a great job. He played mostly cover music from under the covered shelter area. Parking does involve a walk if you're not one of the very first to arrive. That walk is down a gravel path a little ways up the hill and not a great fit for wheel chairs or those who with mobility challenges. It would not be hard to drop someone off though near the front, then go park down the street and around the corner.
