My new favorite place in Charlotte! Went on a Friday night, not crowded early in the night but as it got closer to 10 it started to get more crowded. The employee working was so nice, she let us sample anything we had questions on and educated us on the different cider flavors! Everything is brewed in house. We love ciders for many reasons but the two most important are they are gluten free and they have sweeter ciders. The inside is small and there is some outdoor seating so be wary with large groups. There are about 5 tables inside. We have always found a seat when we stopped by. We love sweet and semi sweet options so we need to have variety. My significant other enjoys the standard options but typically the seasonal flavors add more sweetness like the peach crumble. It is next to a light rail stop so it's pretty convenient. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! Can you tell I really love this place? If you haven't guessed already, I do. I had heard many things about RCC through Charlotte blogs and other social media, so once I noticed a Groupon for this place I finally had the perfect excuse to go visit. The groupon included a brewery tour, two glasses of cider, and two logo glasses (FYI, the brewery tours are free for anyone). We enjoyed the brewery tour and learned a whole lot more about cider than I thought already knew. After we ordered a flight just to get an idea of everything we had. The Cherry Trolls cider really is as good as everyone says. Nice and fresh with a sweet ending. The jalapeno/pineapple one had a surprising amount of jalapeno flavor in it, yet without the heat. The blackberry one was good without a lot of sweetness to it, which was wonderful as well. The coffee one just wasn't for me, but if you love coffee you'll definitely enjoy it. After our flight we went back up to order our drinks. I ordered the earl grey and while it sounds strange to use tea in a cider it was absolutely fantastic. If you're a tea drinker you'll enjoy it as much as I did. Fair warning, you might want someone else to drive you there that isn't planning on drinking. Before I knew it I was more tipsy than I planned on being. I drank everything way too fast. Then again everything was so delicious it's hard to take your time drinking. I'm very much a wine person and not at all a beer person. For once it was nice to enjoy the brewery scene without being the person not drinking. From my second waterbed to my current physique I have been a soft-sider, now that I've sampled some enhanced apple squeezings I can see how a hard cider has a certain appeal. Have been in a couple times and I am quite pleased so far. Parking is sufficient in the evening when the neighbors go home so getting in is pretty straightforward - be aware that the access ramp is on the left. Once inside you'll have plenty of room to roam and a variety of seating options: the bar or hi-tops or table-height tables and it looks like someone has forgotten part of their family room here and left some of their amusements too; a significant shuffle board and some friendly board and dice games and there's a few TV's hanging around as well. I was lucky enough to find a Groupon for $24 which included pints, take home pint glasses, and a tour for 4 people. That's $6 per person for all of that! We came on Thursday right after opening and the place was empty. We tried a few ciders.. ultimately I picked the cherry bobbin because it was one of the sweeter recommendations. I definitely got hints of cherry.. I also had a sip of the blackberry cider which was equally as good. There are a variety of ciders from sweet to extra dry. Each cider is $6. I just want to start by saying- the cider is really good. 10/10 That's the real bummer of the story here. So my partner had been talking about wanting to go here all week. She really loves cider and we hadn't found many around here that she was crazy about. We were going to go on Friday and ended up staying in. Finally made it there on Saturday evening after a very long day of errands/cleaning/etc. We were both exhausted and really looking forward to relaxing with a few beers! So we walk in and take a seat at the bar. We're greeted by a woman (description- gauges, fishnets, undercut with bleached hair on top?) She asks what she can get us, and I respond with "I think we both would like to get a flight". She then- very quickly (I didn't even really catch what she said) explains something about pre set flights, throws around a few numbers, and walks away.. I turned to my partner and was like "what did she say??" I guess my partner caught some of it and was trying to explain when she came back and I asked "so we can't choose which ones we want in the flight?" She then looks at me like I'm the dumbest idiot alive and goes "I can sell you the 5 ounce pours but *as I said to you VERBALLY just a minute ago* it's easier for us to do the pre set flights. I'm working alone today so if you could keep it as simple as possible". I immediately wanted to leave. I stuck it out for a little while because I knew my partner really wanted to try them. So we got one flight. She then avoided us the entire rest of our time there. At one point she was just in a back room talking to her co workers and looking at her phone. (Also she wasn't alone behind the bar so I was confused about the working alone comment?) My partner was so disappointed. She wanted to order a coffee stout they had on tap but it was very clear we wouldn't be getting service again. Some side notes- the atmosphere is dingy, the air feels stale, and the music is super annoying. I can see why people come for the cider though! read more

After a few visits to Red Clay I can say I am a Cider fan... Red Clay offers a variety of Ciders that can satisfy anyone. One of my favorites is the Blackberry! They do offer several craft beers for those non-cider fans as well as Sangria's, Bloody Mary's and Mimosas on Sunday's. One unique thing I loved about Red Clay was the option to pair/mix a Cider with the Mimosa, Sangria or Bloody Mary. I had the #1 with a Bloody Mary and it gave the Bloody Mary a great flavor and lighter taste. They have light snacks, a few truck often and have several games to entertain with a few or a large group. Parking can be tight but there are several areas available around. This was the last place on my list of craft brewery/cideries to check out while I was in Charlotte for a couple days - and I only just barely made it. Got here around 9:50, when their hours say they close at 10 on Wednesday. They were still open, and the owner was super friendly, and had no problem with the fact that I only wanted a couple tasters (I really wanted to try the cider here, but also was kind of beered out from tasting all over Charlotte all evening), nor that we didn't leave until like ten after. We were unsurprisingly the only ones there at that point, so I got to talk to the owner a little about the cidery and the area, and she was pretty cool (also I'm totally jealous of her occupation - it sounds like a ton of work, but also just seriously cool). The two tasters I got - the semi-sweet, and the off-dry with peppers - were $5 together (though it would have been cheaper per taster if I had gotten 4+), and they were both delicious. They had about a dozen different ciders, so I totally plan on trying a few more if I'm ever back in Charlotte. read more

Do yourself a favor and Play hookie from work and spent an afternoon at Ciderworks! They have great outdoor space that is perfect for sitting and enjoying their amazing ciders. I was amazed at how many flavors and how good they were. The flavors change but i loved the Blueberry crumble and my friend loved the Poblano. Definitely get a flight and try at least 5. Ive been meaning to check this place out but I finally came for the Yelp Charlotte Made. I'm a big fan of ciders so I was excited about this one. I decided to get a flight with the Queen City Common, Cherry Bobbin Trolls, Cider-Ginger blend, and the Pomme Pom. Came for the cider, stayed for the food! This a great spot to meet up for drinks in a laid back atmosphere. I wish there was more seating inside, but because of COVID restrictions the capacity is limited. We tried the Rose and Cran Eye ciders which were both great. We also ordered the short rib empanadas from the kitchen and they were absolutely delicous. They were served with an au jus sauce that packed a lot of flavor into one bite. Today we decided to go for a free tour of the distillery, and I'm so glad we did. They have about 15 ciders on tap, as well as a few local craft beers. We tried a flight of 5 ciders, including their Naked Cider, which is the base for all of the other flavors they offer. Our favorite today was called Woolen Socks, so we purchased a 64 oz growler to take home to enjoy later. One of the owners, Jay, gave us a tour. While there isn't much to see, the history of how Red Clay came to be was fascinating and worth our time. They use all natural ingredients to craft their flavors and use apples grown in NC to produce the cider, so they gets a big for keeping it local! Given that we are now proud owners of a growler, we will be returning for refills and to sample new flavors! read more

Yay! I finally made it here. I came on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed initially, but died down after a little while. The parking lot is tiny! They have various different options for parking and a sign that outlines the options posted on the door and throughout the brewery. The service was good. The bartenders were really attentive and explained everything to give me a better idea of what I wanted to pick on my flight. I liked the ciders a lot. On Sunday they have mimosas and sangria. The sangria wasn't as sweet as I had hoped for, but the bartender added some sweet cider to the top, which did help a little. I would love to try the mimosa next visit. They did have a small food truck, I didn't really look at the options for food in detail, but let's just say I was glad I stopped for before beforehand! :) read more
