I had a nice first time experience at Red Boy Pizza in Oakland. I was at the Lincoln Square Shopping Center on a Tuesday, and decided to go in and try their pizza. They have a "quick menu" that offers pizza by the slice and a drink. I ordered "2-slices for $9" and a soda. I asked for a slice of pepperoni and a slice of combination pizza. The nice young lady offered me a table, and she went to heat up my slices. Red Boy has a large dining room with big screen TVs. There's lots decorations. The front counter has displays of beer and wine they offer. After 5-10 mins, my pizza arrived to my table. Nice big slices, hot from the oven. Craving for some pizza for lunch so I decided to give this place a try. That day they had three selections of pizza by the slice: pepperoni, combo, and cheese. I went with the combo slice and it was pretty good. For slice pizza, it's definitely decent, and I especially liked the crispy crust. read more

Wanting some good pizza and as fast as possible we followed a recommendation and turned to Red Boy Pizza. The ordering and pickup was super quick and easy and the pizza was very good. We got 3 pies with varying toppings including Margherita, pepperoni, supreme, Hawaiian, and regular. The price was fair and we didn't have to wait at all when we went in to pick it up. All the toppings were good and the pizza had a good flavor with a decent crust on it. Our favorites were probably the supreme and their classic cheese slice. Everyone was satisfied with our pizzas and we easily put down those 3 pies. Red Boy Pizza is just a good, classic pizza option you can go to to sit down or bring back to a party. Gave this place a try for dinner. It wasn't busy inside and mostly look like a pickup pizza place. TVs are playing in the background and the ambiance is casual. The service is friendly and they leave you alone for the most part to eat your food after you receive. The food overall was fine and interesting that they have sourdough crust. I suggest giving this place a try and input your own thoughts, but I would probably give it another try after this visit. read more

Super friendly server, good sourdough crust pizza, and delicious meatballs covered in lots of great tomato sauce. Their fried mozzarella sticks are super good too. Why do I feel that this place gets overlooked? It was Friday night and we had a hankering for pizza. We went by another place first and it was ridiculously crowded with no open tables for the two of us in their bar area so off we went to Red Boy. Red Boy has such better ambience and service. They may not have a full bar, but beer and wine does nicely with a hot meal here. Lots of great choices on their menu if you're not in the mood for pizza. Just had our 2nd pizza delivered this weekend. Their pizzas have improved immensely over the last year. We request a "lightly baked" crust. Our toppings are: pepperoni, red onion, mushrooms. Their order taking system "remembers" our address, and the delivery is fast. (We always order for pickup or delivery, so I have no experience with the ambience.) Ordered the Bruschetta to go, and was completed surprised on the packaging. It was slices of small, toasted garlic bread, and a container with tomatoes drowning in vinaigrette. It was horrible looking and looked like there was minimal effort put into it. There was small bits of what I assumed was the "basil". The taste was a bit bitter and overpowering. I haven't sat down inside in a while but I know for a fact that their pickup times are quick and consistent (around 25 min after placing the order for a pizza and some wings), their food is delicious (and their gluten free crust is fantastic). Very rude staff! Came in to order takeout. The lady checking me out acted like we were bothering her, not welcoming at all. Mind you there was only one customer there that was already finishing up. Our pizza was told would be ready in 10 minutes, then changed to 20, which we were ok with waiting. Once ready the lady did not even speak to us just rudely pushed a box across the counter to me. Then I suspect a manager or some sort walked in and started talking to this employee before I had a chance to say anything. I came here with a friend to catch up, and she recommended this spot. This is a small little spot that is hidden away in the back of the main parking lot. We sat down for a good amount of time before someone came to give us a menu and to come back to take our order. The employee was not the friendliest either and was not that helpful when we had questions about the menu. Unfortunately, we were both disappointed with the service and food. I had the Tortellini with pesto cream (I added chicken) and my friend had a pepperoni pizza. My pasta was drenched in oil and it was so salty as well, it was honestly so hard to eat and super expensive for what it is. I've been here for take out pizza and wings and have always enjoyed both. I get the red boy special but haven't tried others yet. We've been coming to this Red Boy's for 5 years almost every week. Today we got a pizza that was totally burned and dry. My kids refused to eat it. When I called hoping to get a remake, they said, 'yea they adjusted the oven and they all look that way now.' Red Boy has a sweet outdoor seating tent that occupies part of the side street next to the business. I called and ordered a large pizza with sausage to go, but when I saw the seating I ordered a beer and my son and I sat down outside to enjoy it. He said the pizza was "Yummy" and I agreed. In the past I know their meatball appetizer is also very good. I don't know yet if they are seating inside, but the outside seating was comfortable with a nice view of they sky from their high point at the top of Dimond canyon. You get the usual good pizza and very personable, friendly service. It's a good spot to take you kids. Calling to order the pizza first was a big win for me as the pizza was ready when I got there and my hungry kid could dig in immediately. I was wanting a hamburger so I went to Sparkys Burgers which is nearby. The burger place was filled with people so I noticed Red Boy Pizza and had often heard good things about it. The front door is actually in the back but there is a nice and clear staircase/wheelchair ramp to the second level, on the side near the SafeWay/CVS. The front of the restaurant is welcoming and clean all the tables are moved away. There are tables outside and there was people sitting and chatting outside without masks, which made me uncomfortable since COVID-19 is real. I went in and was met by two employees. They were nice-ish. One of the employees seemed annoyed for some reason and acting out to me wasn't really about me. My pizza was ready so I got it and went home. I ordered a medium Hawaiian pizza and a can ok coke, in total it was $23, which in my opinion is a bit much, it is a little bit more than others in the area. The toppings were spread out even although it could've used more sauce. The pizza was on the dry side. The ingredients were good and the sourdough crust was a nice touch. Overall, the pizza was slightly above average although the cost was a bit much. If I wanted pizza again and I was in the area I'd consider getting it again. I would like to try their pasta, but it also seemed pretty costly. read more

I've been getting RedBoy delivery from the Redwood Rd. location for 10+ years and it's always under-cooked. The crust is doughy and never has the browned crunch good pizza needs. TIP: cook the pies a few minutes longer so it gets brown and crispy on the bottom. It's ok if the top portion of the crust is a little burnt. Better a little burnt than mushy and doughy. read more

Me and a friend were craving wings so we decided to give this place try. Walked up to the counter, grabbed a menu, and sat outside since there was shade available during this heatwave. Graciela took care of us and made sure we had a wonderful lunch. Got a small order of wings, cheese sticks and a slice/wine combo. Everything had a very nostalgic taste to it. Crispy, gooey and flavorful. It's reasonably priced and the service was great. I enjoyed the hills and neighborhoods in the background.
