I like a good brewery and I also like good entertainment. The night we went they had a drag show going on that was spooky themed good fun! There were a lot of people there which is definitely a good sign. Many types of beers and a few ciders to choose from. The bar area is large and divides the room in a really smart way. The brewing area is nice and filled with stainless steel much like you'd see at any brewery. The beers I tried were both pretty good. Don't remember their names though. One was a Belgian style though which I liked most. The first guy that served us when we walked in was really rude which was unexpected. Kinda ruined the fun at the start but thankfully there were other things going on with the drag performances and checking out the large space. I think I'd come back. read more

Really cool brewery in NoMa! Check this place out. Drinks - There are many options for drinks from beer, cider and mixed drinks. What I liked most about this place, is that you were able to choose your flight of beers, up to 5 different ones. We tried 10 and many of them were good like the pumpkin and cherry beers. Food - There's a kitchen and they were serving Hawaiian food the day we were there. Seating - There are two rooms and is some seating outside. This is a mix of long tables, high top tables and bar seating, so it is good for both small and large groups. Games - They have a ton of games that you can play while there. Red Bear is the perfect environment for a casual beer and nicer bar food. There's a great range of drinks and they come in a variety of sizes if you want to have a few tasters or a larger beer. Red Bear's food has never disappointed me. Between their burgers and their cheese curds, everything is packed with flavor and always freshly made. Their patio is also spacious and well laid out. Came here for happy hour after work. The food menu is limited but the chicken strips (which are huge and shareable by the way) we're good. My favorite part was the IPAs and cocktails. Great food, decent beer and average service. Let's start with the good. Food was amazing! Above par when it comes to bar food. Some of the biggest wings and chicken strips I've ever seen. I'm not a big fan of chicken strips. They are usually too dry and don't have the best crunch, but these were different. Like eating really good fried chicken without the bones. Great flavors too. Wing sauces are a bit confusing and really not a lot of help based on their on line ordering. Some of the crew would stop by and ask if we needed anything, but others really didn't do much or were down right rude. The beers were ok. I'm not a beer guy, but I'd still come to Red Bear to hang out. Here's why it's a great spot: 1) Space: It's massive! It's in the same building as the REI (where the Beatles played their first U.S. concert). It's one large open room with a large wrap around bar in the center. There's bar seating and tables throughout the space. There are single uni-sex bathrooms in the back. 2) Beer: They sell their own craft beer on tap as well as local wine, mead, and cider (Farmhouse for $8). The prices aren't so bad either for an expensive city like D.C. 3) Food: For now, they have rotating food trucks come into their kitchen space and sell quality food. The day I went Roaming Rooster was selling fried chicken sandwiches for under $10. 4) Entertainment: They have over 100 games (Settlers, Secret Hitler, etc) and a stage for live mucis. 5) Kid friendly: They have high chairs and welcome little ones to enter. This place is a ton of fun and loved the local concept. Huge bar that wraps around the front to the back of the bar. Not a ton of TV screens, but that's fine. Just a very open and chill vibe to the place. I love seeing the exposed beer vats and that they brew their own. Lots of beer choices so I definitely recommend a flight. Staff seem very nice and love that it is own/operated by the LGBTQ community and welcoming to all. Came here for a drink with some friends. Drinks and ambiance are totally fine. When last call rolled around, my friend ordered a drink. Right when they closed, an employee came to our table and told us to give him our drinks because they were closed. Pre-Covid my fiancé went for a young professionals with disabilities event and loved that this Seattle themed brewery (my fiancé is from Seattle) is friendly to all groups including LGBTQ, disabilities, the deaf community centered around Gallaudet, and even families with children (plenty of games to play). It is a great location next to the NOMA Metro in the building currently occupied mostly by REI but was formerly the arena where The Beatles had their first US concert with a large audience. We have been here frequently for Seahawks games as well as a UW game last fall. Depending on the time and day they would either serve from an external food truck chef or their own food both of which are great. We went back in June and loved how they kept it safe, outdoors, socially-distant and contactless. We even got some beer and a bear to take home. read more

I love ciders and sours and they have a great collection. The new upstairs patio is perfect for outdoor eating on a rainy or sunny day because it's covered by a tent. Very LGBTQ friendly & the space was accessible. There are a lot of neighborhoods with 2 hour zoned parking you can hunt to find a spot in. Also some pay for parking too. Came for brunch early on a weekend and really liked it! I don't drink beer and appreciated that they had several non-beer drinks on the menu, and my husband really enjoyed their beers. I had a burger and he had the breakfast hash. Both were good, but I definitely won this round of who ordered better. Service was a little awkward at times. You go up to the bar to order, but I guess because we were sitting at the bar and they weren't busy, sometimes someone would come over to ask if we needed anything, but other times I felt like I still had to go to the other side of the bar to order. This is my third time coming here. For convince its great, only a few block from where I live. The beer is decent. BUT, the customer service is Horrible. Every-time I have come I have had an issue with my service dog being aloud in. The staff always create a scene which is first disrespectful, and second very embarrassing. The last thing I want is more attention drawn to me and management is no help. Second they continually to "close early" saying it's "managers call". I am literally sitting here and there are at least 5 parties on the patio and about 6 inside. DON'T accidentally ask for water because they will just roll there eyes and point with a "huff" at a warm jug sitting in the corner. Want to love it but can't. read more

They do orders through phone so the only contact you have with an employee is when they drop the drink at your table. They also ask you to put your mask on when they drop off your drink. Great place for drinks! The staff is always super lovely and attentive, the service here is really great. They have a pretty good beer selection and some ciders. I really enjoyed "snakebite" which is half pumpkin cider, half pumpkin ale. They also have some really good sours here! The only food I've had here are the fries with beer cheese which came out piping hot and were super yummy. The only downside is that they don't flights at the moment due to covid-19 but hopefully will be bringing back flights soon.
