This is really such a fun place to stop by if you're doing the beer trail or if we're just going to hang out. Sitting inside is super fun. You can see that they have the tanks in the back, it is a busier vibe inside. Outside, they do have a patio situation and you can order directly outside with the QR codes. I've done both, so it really just depends on what you're trying to get from your experience. The drinks are served super quickly. Also, they usually have a food truck or some type of food service on site to accompany. Any drinks that you're ordering. I love that this spot is so easily accessible by bike or by walking from the MBT, or even from the metro. This is overall just a really easy, fun spot to hang out at.

I love this place. The beers are terrific. It's got a good positive, hip, family, dog friendly vibe. The beer is great. The decor is wonderful, antique projectors and phonographs and typewriters. I love their beer. The staff is great They usually have food trucks. The smoked wings were fantastic. Did I mention they have really good beer?

Came here for a sip and walk event and tried this place for the first time! It was so cute and allows dogs indoors!! So excited to come here next time with my pup. The drinks were great, we all had the dragonfruit Hemingway daiquiri which was super yum! The staff was kind and quick with our orders and its pretty decently sized place. Only thing I will say is noise does echo so any barking or small children (it is a family place so kids of all ages seem welcomed!) may be a little loud for anyone who gets overstimulated easily. We came by foot walking along the metro branch trail but overall, I would be happy to come back!

THE BIG: Located in Eckington, this brewery has a speakeasy interior with comfy chairs and fun for the family. Street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here with my sister on a Sunday afternoon and it was nice! She raved about how good the beers are here and she wasn't wrong. We got the dark lager, two IPAs and a pilsner. All were great. I still think Other Half brewing is king of IPAs. The lager and pilsner here was very good. For the vibes, Lost Generation has the standard giant bar with beer taps with the placards of beers that they serve. They don't do traditional flights but there are individual pricing for the 4oz pours. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done for four 4oz beers was around $18. Great vibes in the brewery and good beers. Nice to see more options in Northeast DC.

Came by with a group of friends for lost gen's 2nd birthday. It was my first time there and wow!! I was so impressed, especially as a non-beer drinker. My partner was a big fan of the polish pilsner, and I loved their seltzer. I really appreciate when breweries offer a variety of options, including a seltzer or cider, and lost gen definitely did. There was also a bbq situation outside! The space is huge and super cute, and the staff are super nice. This is such a hidden gem!

I am not a beer connoisseur but I really liked lost gen! It was a comfortable atmosphere and I enjoyed the live jazz. Jazz is every Saturday night and it's free!!! I think they also have a Friday night show. This would be a great spot to hang out with friends. Plus you get to sample the ever-rotating selection of beers. There is enough variety that two trips are not the same. I visited in Feb, 2024 and tried the Tiger Spirit, POG Sour and Edge of Consciousness. Edge of Consciousness was my favourite AND I can come back for more IPAs because they usually have more than one on the menu, with seasonal releases.

Came here on a Sunday for an impromptu metrobranch trail brewery tour. The beer and NA selection were solid and the atmosphere was kid and dog friendly - you could really bring a diverse group of folks here and have it cater to everyone. My favourite was actually the NA jasmine and white peach seltzer, but all the tasters we had were excellent. They have a food truck outside but the brewery itself does not serve food, although they have little bar snacks for purchase.

What should've been a fun trip to a brewery with some friends quickly ended as the worst customer service experience ever. While reading the menu, I was harassed for my ID and was asked if I had an issue by the rudest bartender ever. No idea if the beer is any good because we left before we could order. Stay away!!

Came to Lost Generation as a part of an event and I loved it. We had a large group and they were very efficient at serving everyone. I have never really tried beers or ciders but I absolutely loved the Grapefruit Orange Sour and the prices were amazing. I will definitely be back.

My first impression wasn't stellar. Being that I live a couple hours south of DC, I don't think there will be a second visit to be had. My friend and I walked into a humid, packed nearly beyond capacity space. We squeezed up to the bar and ordered 4 tasters. We got the two seltzers on (strawberry lychee and mango passion fruit) and two sours (raspberry and cherry pie). There were no ledges, tables, bar space, literally anywhere available for us to go. As the only available spot, we maneuvered our way to the merch section and drank our tasters as quickly as we could so we could extract ourselves from the space. Three others were on their way to meet us, but they walked in after we were done and walked straight back out. I usually am a seltzer fan, but neither one was even decent. They were way too sweet and artificial. The raspberry sour was overdone and too acidic (coming from someone who has had way more sours in my life than I'd care to admit). The cherry pie was the unexpected standout. Both of us really liked it. It's cool that they're so popular but they should try to reconfigure the space to add more seating or standing options. It looked like they could've added ledges or really anything to accommodate the size of the crowd.

To perfect a craft, an apprenticeship of sorts if needed. The owners of Lost Generation Brewing Company did just that. They left D.C. for California to work at a prestigious brewery. Now they are back home with the perfect beer recipes. Enter Lost Generation Brewing Company. Inside a historic brick warehouse building in Eckington (no, NoMa, this is Eckington) just off the Metropolitan Branch Trail comes the city's newest brewery with a large mural-painted taproom open Wednesday through Sunday. Pet-friendly, bring your leashed dog and snag one of many tables, barrels, or bar seating. A small snack menu is offered (food trucks will eventually come on weekends) and beers are ordered at the bar. Seven beers, one sour, and two hard seltzers on tap, pours comes in 4 ounce cups or several times that for a full pour. They can also be purchased in crowlers. My friend being a beer guy enjoyed the "An Age of Islands." Enjoying sweet and sour drinks, the grapefruit gose was worth a taste, but the peach cobbler sour was AMAZING. It's not overly sweet. Well balanced, it may be my new favorite sour in the city (sorry, Shelter). Full pours range between $7 and $8. There's a tiny parking lot out front and plenty of street parking nearby.

NOMA, WASHINGTON DC - Darn fine microbrewery smack dab between the NoMa and Rhode Island Red Line Metro stations. Lot of thought went into this place - beer menus everywhere, which is a small thing but really common sense. The missus and I stopped here on a Saturday early afternoon while in NoMa, sat at the bar, and glad we did. The four beers we tried - four five-oz pours, $3.50 to $4 each - were uniformly decent to good, not a stinker among them (the fruited sour is very watermelon-y, am not a big Oktoberfest fan generally but this was a good one). Service was great - attentive, they kept our water glasses filled and the place was clean. Very dog-friendly joint. Not overly loud. We'd return.

And fortunately, I found one that was perfectly right and proper! Before entering, Right and Proper had me won over with their outdoor mural paying homage to Duke Ellington and a who's who of local DC jazz heroes. Upon entering, I was even more blown away by their elaborate and wild indoor murals, especially the dog & cat bathroom art, and the EPIC animal battle centerpiece! Since I came towards the end of their night after the Brewers pizza party at Andy's Pizza, I wasn't particularly hungry. But I did make note of their cheese counter, where you could purchase offerings like Midnight Moon, Willoughby, and Morbier by the plate or to go by the pound. They also had a good selection of handhelds, appetizers, dinner, and brunch offerings. However, the best thing might be that, during the unpredictable government shutdown, they had the option to pay a meal or a beer forward to a neighbor in need. I also managed to enjoy their Brussel sprouts that delivered a pleasant umami bomb with its sweet Thai chili sauce and crushed peanuts. For beers, they had a right and proper mix that went beyond the IPA overload, while also having good ones like their Big Tomorrow west coast IPA. Their flights came at a reasonable price and allowed me to enjoy offerings like their Haxan robust porter, Senate Maerzen Marzen Oktoberfest style ale, and Super Carina Italian Pilsner. Factor in all of the above and a good selection of brewery games and table spaces, and they had everything I look for in a solid brewery!

I went with the Thai Chicken Wings and my friend had the Burger. Both were perfectly fine "pub grub"--solid options if you're hungry while grabbing a drink, even if they didn't necessarily steal the show. They're reliable, standard bites that pair well with their tap list. The Service: This is where Right Proper really shines. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, which is exactly what you want in a local haunt. You never feel rushed, and the service keeps the good vibes going. While the food was a bit middle-of-the-road for us this time, the excellent service and neighborhood feel make it a place I'll keep coming back to. It's a great spot to catch up with friends, enjoy a unique house beer, and soak in the local energy.

They have slowly made changes over the years that make this an absolute must visit. What hasn't changed: the outdoor vibes and string lights are as pleasant as ever, and without the crushing crowds and lines that typified this location in their early years, it is a much nicer vibe most days. In my first review, I complained that the menu was very light on German beer options. They offer far more now, including a beer that I do not believe you can regularly find at any other bar in the city: the Weihenstephaner Korbinian, the world's finest doppelbock. It is one of the most delicious beers I have ever had, and they have it here on tap for a very reasonable price. Another positive change: they have a kitchen now with a full menu of food options. Their giant pretzel is a classic, of course. If you're a weekend happy hour chaser, they sell $5 High Noons all day Sunday. One final note: the location is absolutely perfect. Baan Mae has opened next door to the north (a 5/5 dining experience, amazing Thai food), Ugly Duckling is across the street to the south (a 5/5 happy hour and cocktail experience), and Ivy & Coney is right across the street to the east (a DC icon and 5/5 dive bar and football spot), so Dacha is essentially the centerpiece of the perfect night (or whole day) out.
