He got the rush river skillet. I'm always interested in what coffee brands restaurants use and they use Ridgeline which I'm guessing is local. The bread is fantastic--crusty, fresh, and authentically French. They also have an incredible selection of beautiful pastries, cakes, and other classic French treats that look like they came straight out of a Parisian pâtisserie. And the coffee is absolutely exquisite. One thing that always makes me smile is that while the pastries look and taste authentically French, they're definitely American-sized! They're enormous. If you're hungry, you're in for a treat. More often than not, I'll enjoy half of one there with a coffee and take the rest home in a box for later. It's a wonderful little café with a relaxed atmosphere and a great place to sit and unwind. If you're in the Apple Valley area and looking for something a little different--something with a genuine European feel--I can't recommend Café de Paris highly enough. Both breakfast and lunch is offered here along with a massive espresso coffee and non coffee drink menu including house made syrups. I enjoy the big variety and uniqueness of every item including the fresh baked goods like monkey bread, pickle salad, in house syrups and ice cream. Their brewed coffee is smooth, less acidic, medium bodied w delightful berry & caramel tastes. I am impressed. The latte is okay - I think the only thing is that the milk temperature is too hot (steam time too long) so the drink lost the natural sweetness and the silky texture from the milk a bit. The lemon bar is creamy and yummy, perfect to eat w the coffee. We will definitely return next time when we are back in Eau Claire!
