We absolutely LOVE the King Agriculture Museum and have been there multiple times! This is a…read morelittle gem of a place just east of the main downtown stretch of Centralia. Open seasonally during the summer, it's a place that you have to check out if you like getting an up-close and personal looksie at vintage farm equipment! Walking in, you enter their main "gift shop" type of room. In it, you will find all sorts of toys, models, and the like - including agriculture vehicles, trucks, construction vehicles, etc. The selection is vast and the pricing is varied, so there is something for everyone. Going through the back exit of that room takes you to the heart of the museum. It includes multiple large, high ceilinged rooms that house their enormous collection of farm equipment. The biggest collection includes tractors, but they've also got other types of equipment and vehicles too. Your visit has to take you outside through their backdoors and enjoy even more, larger pieces of equipment. Back there, your little ones will find a cute little play area that includes a dried bean-filled play table, "big-wheel" type tractors for them to pedal around, and a playground with vintage equipment (remember the old metal slides that burn your skin going down and leave a silver streak down your pants?). LOL! The staff is extremely kind and family friendly. They do not rush you through the visit, are patient with the kids, answer any questions you might have, and let you take your time. I have brought my boys here for almost just the purpose of looking at the models and playing in the back, and the ownership is totally cool with that. They love the fact that the kids like to experience the museum and look at what they have. Very cool, indeed. Their hours are Thursday - Sunday from 10:00am - 4:00pm during June - September. Free for kids 12 and under and only $6.00 for adults, this is an easy and inexpensive option for things to do. The only thing I wish they offered was a membership. Other museums in the area offer a yearly membership that gives you a free admission as one of the perks. Alas, they don't. But oh well. We'll still go there.

Rather - you'll see "Centralia Book Center" hanging from the awning. They also have a large outdoor display of tools and antiques (and the prerequisite display of books). Question not ... you're in the right place. Walking into the store, you are greeted by a very friendly owner or is happy to help you find anything or point you in the right direction. Inside, you'll find an eclectic collection of antique and semi-modern tools, plus a Huge selection of used books. Many aisles and shelves house thousands of books to look through. I didn't have a whole lot of time to browse, as I was on my way to another appointment, but could have easily spend a good amount of time just looking and picking out a number of books and novels to bring home! Plus, at the very reasonable prices, the value was superb! When I have a wee bit more time, and more shelf space at home (LOL) I will stop in again and take my time wandering the store. There are a large selection of really nice pumpkins, a great corn maze, pizza, elephant ears, hot dogs, fire pit, goblin egg slingshot game, and a very well done haunted forest. They put a lot of thought, time, and effort into this event and they have a lot of actors who do a great job of scaring guests. The line is long, but worth it. They create space between groups so you get your own surprises. If you like haunted venues, this was fun. Probably best for kids over 9-10 although younger kids were there. You can go through during the day when it is only props and no actors. Definitely worth the trip.

They have flashlights, T-shirts, Hoodies, Pumpkins, Corn Stalks, Gords, Cocoa, Candy, Gifts/Toys... for sale at good prices! They are 100's of pumpkins, a nice fire pit with chairs, clean port-a-potties and wash station, Goblin Egg Sling, and plenty of parking. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I come out here every year! We loved cutting sunflowers, and each picked out a pumpkin or three. Our rule is you have to be able to carry it to the scale/car yourself... LOL! Originated in Seattle, the owning family moved to Centralia pre-pandemic and made Lewis County their home. Successful navigating the shutdown, this business now survives thanks to the determination and passion of the grandfather who owns and runs the shop with the help of his wife and grandson! One cannot argue with the lineage that it present here. My son is wild about model trains and we are just getting started with his first electric model set - the locomotive, the additional cars, the tracks, and the layout! We're working to be all in. The extremely helpful and kind owners have been nothing but helpful to us - guiding me in explaining what we need (now and in the future) and how to install it. They've even helped me understand what wasn't working with our set and what else we'd need to make it work better. Being a small, locally owned business they don't always have the large selection that one might find at online shops; but believe me ... the online shops are not going to give you the personal attention and time that these guys will give you. They love model railroading and sharing their knowledge with the consumer. That said, they do have a goodly amount of trains and accessories for your layout at very reasonable prices! You'll be able to find locomotives, cars, and model extras (people, buildings, vehicles, landscapes, etc.). Plus they have paints and other model building supplies. Trust me ... The Train Center is worth your time and you'll not only get a great deal on your layout needs, you'll probably end up learning something new too. I know that I always have left the shop having learned something new every time I've been there. I love it!! Be sure to give their pet cat a little love too!! ;-)
