Super recommend when you're visiting Great Wolf Lodge. Central Glass Works is less than 15 min away from the lodge. Just make a reservation for a private session or class. We had teens to tweens and all were very happy. Next time we will book back to back sessions so we could do more complex creations. Tasha, Jesse, Donna were understanding instructors that work amazing with children. They use their experience to make creative solutions to unique requests, like a goldfish. They encourage kids to participate and try something new, in a hands-on way. They did their best to brainstorm fun ideas. These wonderful instructors provided a great time, explaining the process in a way the kids would understand by modeling it. We will be back again for spring break. Kevin is the owner and we were very impressed with the myriad of glass decor. We went home with glass mugs, bowls, and more. Oh, and ask about the memorial pieces for a loved one. We had a fantastic time doing this! We took our family for this to add my recently passed grandmothers ashes to something we could keep. We loved the idea of something we created with our hands being mixed with her soul and love. The guys were so understanding and accommodating! They even moved things around for my step dad who was in a wheel chair! We got to pick and mix in all our colors and learn about the art of glass blowing! There are so many beautiful pieces that I wanted to take home! We purchased a Groupon ( well 2 of them) for 4 people and a 2 hour class, we each got one large piece or two small pieces for about 30 bucks each! The Groupon was 120 after tax. We will definitely be coming back! Looking forward to making some ornaments for some Christmas gifts! One tip: we live over an hour away, it would have been nice to know before hand that you can't take the pieces home that day. I would probably mention that when people set up the appointment. They do have options to mail your items, but we decided to take another day drive and do some shopping when we picked up the pieces! Highly recommend! read more

From the first day I saw the sign I knew I had to do this. I registered online for their Saturday class and then stopped by the day before and was introduced to everyone. Everyone was so nice and encouraging, I was real excited about my class. I arrived about 5 minutes early and they gave me a tour and explained all the equipment and how it worked. I felt very relaxed that I could do it. Every step they explained the process and encouraged your work. I had a totally great time and will do this again. They do have a restroom and items that can be purchased. You can also place orders for a variety of choices. Great class and wonderful customer service! read more

My husband and I took our 7 grandchildren for a glass blowing experience to make an ornament. We were totally thrilled with the experience as we're the kids. Mr. Timmy was exceptional and patient with them. They got to pick out their own colors and what they wanted to make. Some made fairy balls, some bowls and the rest ornaments. We purchased a private class for 4 and enjoyed the experience greatly. As we walked in we were greeted as if we were old friends. The whole place feels like the perfect combination of laid back and serious business. From the incredible music choices to the constant entertainment from the staff this was perfect evening of fun. As far as a "class" it's not so much a class as an opportunity to make some very cool glass items with the employees doing the hard/skilled work. Please don't take that as a reason to second guess going. Take it as a reason to go as all 4 of us felt that trying to do the hard stuff would have taken away from the fun not added to it. Bottom line is I feel I got a great value. Will I go back? Hell yes. In fact we all will. I'd recommend Central Glass Works to anyone wanting to do something fun, unique, ans lasting. Saw a sign on the street for glass blowing demonstrations and walked in. Turns out they give glass blowing classes and welcomed me in to a private lesson. The crew who helped teach me were of the best caliber of human one could ask for. They are kind, hardworking, informative, friendly, and welcoming. I wish I could go back more! read more

A group of 4 women had a great time puffing their cheeks trying to blow glass ornaments - what a great time! The instructors were very helpful and the whole activity was really fun. I bought an activity here through living social or something like that for a group of 4 to each make 2 ornaments. It was a pretty good deal, but even without the special pricing I think regular price for this activity is worth it. They had many items on display for things you could make in other classes.... I would love to go back and make a glass pumpkin! For this class we each left with 2 ornaments that we can treasure for years to come or gift to someone who would enjoy them. Great fun! read more

My (soon to be) mother-in-law and fiance came here today for a glass blowing class. None of us live in Centralia, so we all drove and met there to do this class, which my mother-in-law bought on groupon as our christmas present. There were 3 people working that day, and they all promptly greeted us, as we looked around the store. We each were able to make 1 small item (an ornament) and a large item (bowls or vases is what we choose). I was disappointed they didn't have the color I wanted (fuscia or pink), but I was able to find a few other colors I liked. I am a elementary school teacher, and I was really impressed with how well they described the process we would do, provided direction, and the gradual release of letting us do different parts of the glass blowing. It was very memorable. I can't wait to see our pieces! To speak to what some other people have said, I saw multiple people come in the shop during our 2 hour class. Each time someone came in to shop, one of the people helping us with glass blowing would step away to help the customers in the shop pretty promptly. I had a wonderful time, and would definitely recommend them to a friend. read more

My mother purchased a groupon to take me for my birthday on 9/13/15. She confirmed via email and we scheduled the day. We drove down from Auburn and showed up 15 mins early to our scheduled time. No one showed to our session, no call, no notice on the door. I called and left a message and to this day I still have not had a response. A passerby said the furnace broke or something but didn't know more than that. My mother called again, and the guy that answered said it was his bosses fault. Everyone should have been called and offered nothing for our wasted time. Groupon gave her the money back, but nothing for the consideration of the birthday event, time wasted of 4 people, and again nothing form the business at all!!! read more

The crew was so helpful. It was our first time and they helped us every step of the way. They had a great sense of humor and even helped me with my physical restrictions. We found this activity as something the three of us could do while I was visiting from out of town. We booked a private lesson and definitely felt we got our money's worth. The class was very hands-on and our instructor told us he was letting us assist in steps that they don't normally let beginners attempt. We were all happy with our finished products. What a great place to experience a wonderful form of art. This is a rare place where you can get hands on glassblowing experience with knowledgeable and patient staff who really let you do a lot of the work in a super fun way. The two hour class is not to be missed! My girlfriend and I went, and she was raving about the experience. We both got to make items to keep! And they aren't little trinkets either! My girlfriend made a beautiful bowl and I made a fantastic vase and another great looking bowl. We will remember this experience forever. Take a class here! read more

Such a great experience! We had family in town for a college graduation and wanted an activity for six of us to do. Kevin accommodated us by arranging to do a class of six rather than just four, and was great at communicating. The cost (especially if you take advantage of weekday pricing) is very reasonable - and everyone goes home with either one large (e.g. A bowl or vase) or two small (e.g. An ornament, shot glass, or paper weight) pieces that they make with constant hands on supervision/instruction by multiple instructors working together throughout the class. The pieces you make are kept overnight to keep them from cracking if they cool too quickly; they also do some minor grinding/finishing as needed. The end products were carefully and individually wrapped in bubble wrap for us by the staff. No real negatives - I mean, its glass - so don't expect it to turn out exactly as expected (a shot glass may end up as a shorter votive holder, colors may not come out quite as expected, etc). Embrace the uncertainty of the end result. Everyone had a blast and we will definitely be back! read more

Happened to be strolling downtown one evening and saw they had an open sign outside so went in with my boyfriend to take a look.There were the two guys who work there and what looked like some friends or people blowing glass. SUPER RUDE! No one even acknowledged we were there. My boyfriend was asking some questions about their set up the owner didn't even look at him and the other guy who works there was semi ignoring him too. He answered some of his questions but with as few words as possible. I'm giving one star because you can't give any lower. Customer service is important and we got absolutely none we were ignored. read more

I'm finally posting about my experience here a while back because I feel it may be beneficial to some. We bought groupons for a family event of glass blowing at this location. We have a very large family and wanted to create a special memory together. When we arrived we got set up and started our class. During the class we all slowly realized that the owner was half intoxicated. During the course of the class he made several jokes that were inappropriate. He proceeded to tell my adult daughter to "blow harder!!!" on a device that was capped. He seemed to think that was hilarious, she was mortified at the sexual innuendo. He was drinking alcohol in front of our entire family and we have small children. I really could care less if this gentleman and his employees drink. I just felt that the comments and behaviors that came with it were completely unprofessional. It almost seemed that one of his employees seemed slightly embarrassed by this behavior. For the record that guy was really nice. As for the memories to be made that night, we were determined to enjoy our special time together and create something beautiful - and we did. But we will never go again. read more

The staff was awesome - very supportive. Had a private session with our family and everyone had a great time. My 4 year-old even made a little bubble! The paperweight my daughter made came out pretty dark, she just kind of just poked at it. If you make a paperweight, my advice is go for it - really stretch it and wrap it. They dunk it in the honey pot when you're through so it's surrounded by a smooth clear finish. Also, you'll have to come back another day to pick up your pieces (they have to cool in an oven so they don't shatter from cooling down too fast). Fortunately it's sturdy glass: my 7 year-old was showing her grandparents what we made and dropped a mini pumpkin onto the hardwood floor and it survived (though I don't recommend trying that yourself)! read more

I arrived early and the door was locked. The employee (Kenny) walked right passed me and opened the door without saying a word. Then he walked to the back of the store while I stood in the front and he still didn't say anything. Thank goodness he had a cute dog with him that gave us something to talk about. Awkward start. Kenny led the class but I was really turned off when he made a colorful joke -- something about teaching pretty girls how to blow. Distasteful at the very least a little bit creepy. I mean we were 6 women in our 40s, 50s, and 60s. The class was not very hands-on but I did end up with two beautiful ornaments, and it was really interesting to see how it's done. Be aware that you have to come back the next day to pick up your work as it has to sit in an oven overnight. Overall, it was worth the price for the coupon I bought on Living Social, but I recommend some basic customer service training for Kenny on how to make a better first impression and how to be more professional. In contrast, there were 3 other young men working there and I didn't have a problem with any of them. Billy especially seemed professional and respectful. read more

My wife and I went in to purchase a few pieces for our home and found a nice selection. We were about to check out when the cashier stated that the artist was just about to walk by. We very kindly said to the man "so you made these pieces"? We were hoping to as him some questions about how he made some of the colors within the pieces. He very rudely turned to us and stated "I make a lot of things". Then proceeded out the door. We decided that we no longer wanted the pieces in our home, as we would no longer be proud to display them. He was simply very arrogant and rude!! read more

We had a fantastic Mother's day here. Jessie, Tim, and kenny were very knowledgeable and were extremely friendly. They worked well with my 11 yr old daughter who had a billion questions. We signed up for a groupon and did a Saturday glass blowing class. The staff is great and very informative on what you're doing. The only things that made me take of starts is that I believe that the class was over booked. It was supposed to be a two hour class and ended up being almost 3. We had planned our day around 2 hours. Also, we wanted to pay extra and make something else and the staff was totally unsure how to make that happen. He said "We'll, I'd have to call my manager and ask how much." He never did pick up the phone to make that call we were sort of left hanging. The tree topper/ornament my husband made was broken off very unevenly and is pretty ugly on the bottom. It is not a nice looking, finished piece. We will probably not display that one. It was a fun experience but I certainly would ask how many in the class first. read more
