What a cute concept! We need more of these everywhere for kids and adults who have big imagination. The cardboard mountain at the entrance is a must see! This place shows you how to use your bits, beads and bobbins!

Stunning paper mural on entr5ance wall-see the holiday items display!

Amazing shop that has been at this location for only two years but in business for 15 years!! What a treasure trove of supplies for your craft and DIY projects- recycle, reuse and RE CREATE! Donations are acceptable in one grocery bag (toilet paper rolls, egg cartons, corks, etc. ) or if you have more, make an appointment so they can accommodate your donation(s). I was able to pick up a perfect "Family ...life's most precious gift" photo frame for only $3.00 plus some holiday stickers for just $1.25! They have an abundance of items, some "gently used", some brand new and lots of reasonably and "a steal!" priced craft supplies. ReCreate offers field trips for schools, craft classes and special events too! Check in with your YELP app and get 50% off one item!!

    Corks!

Saw an ad for ReCreate while scrolling on Facebook. Had never heard of the place, despite it being close to where we live. We might have passed it once or twice but thought it was a painting shop like "Color Me Mine" or something. Found out that it's an arts and crafts thrift shop. Kinda like a Joann's or Michaels but with better prices. Some items are used but a lot look brand new. Remember when rubber stamps and scrapbooking used to be super trendy a few years ago? I remember spending tons of money for stickers and oohing and aahing over adorable Jolee's Boutique stickers. Well, fast forward like a decade later and it seems like people are now into decluttering so they donate all those cool items to ReCreate! Great place to find cute items at low prices. Perfect for homeschooling parents, teachers, daycare workers, artsy people on a budget, you name it! My husband wasn't too crazy about it but I felt like a kid in a candy store. Fortunately I'm older and wiser now and try to stop myself from buying stuff that is just a good price. :P So I ended up only spending around $5 but getting a ton of goodies for that amount. Lots of fun things to check out, plenty of parking, good prices. The day I went in, they were having a 25% off everything sale (excluding clearance). Be sure to use the Yelp check-in offer for a great coupon! Can't wait to go back and check it out again! Fun fun fun!

The last time I was on your site I found the donation reservation with out a problem. I would like to donate again and I am not finding where to make an appointment to do that. Can you help me?

Hi Jana, our donation appointment link is at recreate.org, click on Support from the menu and then you will see “Donations Accepted at ReCreate”. That is where we accept appointments for donations. Thanks for your support!

I came here to volunteer, and to my surprise, there were even younger kids participating. I learned that the minimum volunteer age is 10 years old. Some students were volunteering for school service hours, while others came through different companies and organizations. We joined the second shift from 1pm-4pm. The session started shortly after 1pm with a briefing and task assignments from the group leader. All tasks were explained clearly. The leaders checked on us throughout the shift to make sure we were doing okay and to see if anyone had concerns. Halfway through the shift, we had a 15-minute break, and one of the leaders brought ice cream to celebrate a volunteer's birthday and shared it with everyone. I thought it was a meaningful way to celebrate a birthday while helping a good cause. We actually finished around 3:30pm, and our shift completed: - 5,451 lbs of food packed - 474 boxes prepared for the "No Student Goes Hungry" program supporting students from elementary school through college in Sacramento County. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, and the facility was clean and organized. Restroom: clean, bright, and decent. If you are interested in volunteering, check out their website and register in advance.

Within all of this stuff, was a bunch of new and lightly used clothing. In the past I have donated clothing to my local Goodwill Express. However, I did some reflection and realized that all of the clothing that I donated was being sold for profit. Going forward, my intention was to donate to an organization that receives the donation(s) and distributes them to underprivileged individuals/families free of charge. Some research led me to the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. Upon calling to verify their hours (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 10am-1pm and Wednesday, 4pm-7pm), I gathered all of the clothing and hit the road on a mission to make a difference. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a Sacramento Food Bank employee who eagerly began to load my clothing donations onto a cart. Since a lot of the clothing consisted of dress pants and dress slacks, he proceeded to inform me about a program called "Job Smart Clothing." Job Smart Clothing is a program within Sacramento Food Bank that provides career appropriate apparel for underprivileged individuals interviewing for employment or currently employed. How cool is that? I'm not a representative for Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. However, I will say that they provide an awesome service to the community, and that a little donation goes a long way (individuals who benefit from their services often leave with 15-20 pieces of clothing per visit). Before you throw away that piece of clothing that you think is out of style or doesn't quite hug your curves the way that they used to, think about donating it to the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services!

The entire place was Christmas merchandise except for the back room which had cooking stuff in it. This is the room I found a beautiful collectible cookbook set for $25 and it now rests in my kitchen on display. All the other products we saw seemed to be fairly affordable and cheap, only problem is that my mom and I really don't go thrifting to find Christmas stuff. There were no clothes, furniture, tech, shoes, art, or fun trinkets and weird stuff. We were in and out very quickly. We will be back in the future to see what the store is normally like, as we assume it was only like that due to being right before Christmas. Staff was friendly, building was clean, and they managed to fit a decent amount of stuff inside. It doesn't seem like a place I would drive half an hour to, but if this is your local thrift then it seems nice. Definitely will be back soon to see what it's like outside of the holidays.

ThereThere were many volunteers on the floor, almost too many! Staff were pleasant and the shop was well curated. It's one of the few thrift shops I've been to where they have no clothes for sale. But, they make up for it with a great selection of home goods and they had an abundance of holiday items for sale. I found their prices to be extremely reasonable and they offer discount tags to reduce the prices even further for some items. Parking was pretty easy and I scored a small artificial tree with lights at a good price.

It's not as big as the other one was which was disappointing, but oh well. It's a small thrift store that had a lot of various pieces here. A small book section, clothes, a few pieces of furniture, etc etc. The best part is that the sales go towards the SPCA, so you can feel good about helping animals while finding something for cheap. They even had a back room with some pet furniture too! Prices were pretty cheap too! There were some things that were being charged more than what they're worth, but that's always the case at a second hand store. The majority was a great deal which is what matters the most. Staff was friendly and made up entirely of volunteers. They were happy to talk to us whenever we had questions about an item, but otherwise were pretty hands off in terms of letting us shop, which I appreciated. It's not the best thrift store I've ever been to, but it's far from the worst too. Check them out if you've got time, it's easy to get in and out of quickly too.
