Unfortunately, I have little patience for these types of stores. So, when my 19 year old daughter asked to stop here while passing through Auburn, I was less than thrilled. OH MY GOSH!! If every thrift store were like this one, I may convert. It is small, but they utilize every nook and cranny in the best of ways. It is neat, orderly and carries top quality used merchandise. They have quite a number of books, women's clothing, shoes and housewares. (Didn't really notice any men's clothing.) We walked out of the store having purchased a beautiful Scott McClintock "vintage" evening gown, another designer dress, 1 VERY stylish pair of vintage shoes that are currently in style, another pair of shoes, a Royal Albert teacup, a vintage glass jar and an OLD, OLD, OLD hand tatted doily for a grand total of $29. That's right! $29!!! Even my "you have enough antiques" husband was excited over our purchases. And the women who work here are so, so nice. They are helpful, friendly and kind. It was close to closing time and they didn't rush us one bit. The next time we drive by, through, near or next to Auburn, we will definitely be making another visit to St. Luke's Thrift Shop. GREAT place.

I tried to return the jacket 2 days later for store credit after deciding it wasn't quite right for this person, but I couldn't find the receipt. Jacket was in the pink Skye bag with original tags still attached. I was told that without the bar code on the receipt the item could not be returned or exchanged because they have to have the receipt code to look it up in their system. I do not believe that there is no way around this in their POS. I believe they have a completely inflexible return policy with no room for human error. I was told to find the receipt or there is nothing they could do for me. Over $50 down the drain. What's sad is that I'm a local shopper and I like a lot of what they carry in the store. I wasn't looking for a refund and I would have been more than happy to buy other items at the store. Yes, I should have kept my receipt. I intended to, and somehow it disappeared during my Christmas shopping errands. Yesterday was trash day so I can't even dig through and see if I accidentally threw it away. I understand the policy as a small business of no refunds. I don't understand the rigid stance that without a receipt you can't even exchange for other items in the store. The store would not lose any money by honoring store credit.

She takes such care in sourcing the products that are to be sold in the store. They're all ethically produced, and are high quality. There have been so many different types of products such as lotions, candles, pillows, clothing, hats, stickers, jewelry, chocolate bars, and olive oils. Because all items are sourced and researched by the owner, she tends to be very knowledgeable about any questions you may have while shopping. It might seem like the store is one big room, but climb up the steps in the back and you'll enter another section to shop. Up those stairs is the home of Carolyn's own jewelry line. They're all beautiful pieces, and I highly recommend checking them out. Something I've never seen in another store before is the bouquet bar. There's a section of wall with pots that house different types of plants and flowers. Pick some of those out, and then you'll have yourself a beautiful bouquet. I had one that lasted for a couple weeks! All the grocery store bouquets I've bought will usually die after 4-7 days. Even if you don't live near downtown Auburn, U.S. Artisan Marketplace is worth the drive.

The entire place was Christmas merchandise except for the back room which had cooking stuff in it. This is the room I found a beautiful collectible cookbook set for $25 and it now rests in my kitchen on display. All the other products we saw seemed to be fairly affordable and cheap, only problem is that my mom and I really don't go thrifting to find Christmas stuff. There were no clothes, furniture, tech, shoes, art, or fun trinkets and weird stuff. We were in and out very quickly. We will be back in the future to see what the store is normally like, as we assume it was only like that due to being right before Christmas. Staff was friendly, building was clean, and they managed to fit a decent amount of stuff inside. It doesn't seem like a place I would drive half an hour to, but if this is your local thrift then it seems nice. Definitely will be back soon to see what it's like outside of the holidays.
