The experience wasn't bad. There wasn't much in the way of variety for women's clothing (not junior), and even when I did find anything I liked, there was less in my size. I did finally find a cute jacket and a weird crop top tank to wear under my sweater tomorrow, but I would have liked more options. Also, while my husband and I waited to get in this morning (just as the store was supposed to open), everyone in the building was evacuated outside. They told us it was a fire drill, but I sincerely doubt it since several police officers suddenly showed up to respond to the store's call. I had to wait to come back this evening. read more

The security guard is very rude. Their carts to not roll. I had to pull out five different shopping carts to get one to actually roll. And I asked the security guard about it and he put up, He was too busy having a conversation on his phone about sports. Their aisles are so close together a person can barely turn sideways to get past a shopping cart. read more

This Ross usually has awesome finds! I was sad to see the entire store hardly stocked and really picked over yesterday when I popped in to look for a rug. Usually their home selection is top notch but I'm not sure what happened but there was maybe 5 rugs in the entire store and the home section is really lacking. I ended up buying a rug off Amazon because the stock in this store just wasn't there. Hopefully it stays a good Ross and doesn't turn into one of the junky ones because this spot is usually great! read more

It's always a treasure hunt at Ross, so you should never go in expecting to find a specific thing. Well... This time I did, and this time I found it! Went in for some dark jeans in my size. I looked through all the section which was labeled my size and found 2 I liked. One didn't have my size on it, but the hold up and check showed different. The other was my size but was low rise. Well the misslabeled pair fit! The other did but they were low rise and decided it wasn't worth 2 bucks more than one that fit just right! Would give this place 5 stars but to be honest there was the usual lack of staff in each department to accommodate the customer messes. Since I have over 12 years retail experience (1 year with Ross), I know this is due to their low budget culture. So the last star would be added if the store had made some sort of balance so it all worked to the customer and stores advantage. read more

Was only in the store for 10 mins the security guard literally moved every single isle with me but said he wasn't concerned with me yet so many other shoppers were in the Actual Men Department where you said you we're supposed to be monitoring while worried about what I was doing in the kids section. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life left with tears feeling my eyes I get it I'm a young mom but that's no reason to judge a book by it's cover. read more

Love Ross in general I always seem to have good luck and find that "diamond in the rough". Just be sure to WASH any and ALL clothing before wearing it at home. I bought some lounge pants and wore them at home without washing first-my fault-my mistake- I had tiny bug bites all over me the next few days. It took me a few days to realize I needed to do laundry and the problem was solved. Up until the washing I kept getting bit whenever I'd wear the pants. Gross I know. I will NEVER make that mistake again. My husband also had a similar experience with finding a spider on him after we had just left Ross. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but just something to be aware of. Anyone else experience this with Ross? read more

Ross is awesome! Just as long as you remember that you have a month for returns and after that you only get store credit. And if you come back with returns within the month and don't have the receipt... I believe you get store credit? I personally have been treated well so it's definitely worth it. No need to drive down to Roseville or Lincoln ;) read more

The Auburn Ross is known in their local district of Ross stores as "The Garbage Dump".......where they send the out-of-style merchandise that nobody else wants! This is absolutely the worst store in the entire Ross network. It should be bulldozed down and possibly rebuilt anew, with a complete makeover. They could try to have more stock in the men's dept, which is practically non-existent. And---- get rid of the junky housewares and knick knacks that aren't moving! read more

I had a toddler, infant in a car seat, and bought a LARGE suitcase. The LP said I wasnt allowed to take any shopping cart to my car. I asked how I was going to carry everything to the end of the parking lot, and his response was "not my problem". And there wasnt a single person there to help me. This store takes patience, even the parking lot takes patience. I find that if I go during the week and find something that I like I need to decide if I want to wait in their ever long line to purchase it. The children's section is almost always picked through, espically the shoes. I think overall it would be worth it for the bargains alone, but when you compare this location to others, you know that this one is run down. I enjoy the Lincoln CA Ross and will shop at that location over this one for a more organized store with up to date furnishings. read more

Okay the only reason I'm giving them two stars is because they have always been efficient when it comes to clothing, BUT: they sold me the fakest pair of Ray Bans I've ever seen/worn!!! I bought a couple things on my lunch from the Stanford ranch Ross, but I had go to auburn to finish my work day. I've notice that the woman from the Stanford ranch Ross mistakenly rang me up twice for the same shirt. So I stopped by this Ross because it would be faster and don't have to go out of my way to the other store. So I enter the store talk to the cashier explain what was going on, she said "Sorry, you have to go back to Roseville because we can't review the cameras prove you bought it." So I went back to Stanford ranch with no problems and got my refund. read more

We were in this store, Friday afternoon about 3pm. Being the end of the holiday season, I would've expected better staffing. There appeared to be ample staff on the floor, yet only one person was ringing customers up, out of six registers. The returns counter had 3 registers and one employee was wot that. The returns counter would take customers when there wasn't a 'return' in line. We waited in an extremely long line for over 20 minutes. At one point, 4 employees appeared at the return register area, were leaning over, talking and laughing amongst themselves, then they disappeared!! Pretty much angered all in that long line. This is my closest Ross, but I'm totally disappointed with the lack of customer service and respect for others time. read more

I love Ross Stores to begin with, but this is by far my favorite Ross Store. I can always find tons of great things for myself and sometimes my husband. I am not fond of the children's clothing but sometimes they carry Carter's clothes for infants which seem to wash up nicely. I love how they carry designer clothes at this Ross, mostly Betsey Johnson, Michael Kors and Juicy Couture. I think this store is also well kept compared to the stores in Rocklin, Roseville and Sacramento. Also, the staff is super friendly and happy all the time, it is great. read more

I live in grass valley and shopping doesn't come with a whole lot of options unless you drive to Roseville. I like Ross, marshalls, etc., but I have to complain about this store. Every time that I come in the employees are unprofessional, oftentimes rude, dressed poorly and make conversation with other employees while checking outa customer. Even the manager was almost yelling today from across the store to an employee checking me out to remind her to take her break at 4:30. Really? A manager?! This store needs to take a serious look at the type of employee they want to make their "face of the company" because of this is it, it's very sad. I will happily drive to Roseville in the future than to come in to this store and patronize in the future. This is sad because the product at the store is great. * one more extreme pet peeve I must rant about is when a customer service representative is checking out a customer, wait until the transaction is complete, you have given their bag to them and thanked them for shopping at your store. Instead of calling for the next customer in line before you have completed with the one that is in front of you! We all have a choice where to spend our money, and with the low customer service and quality of employees, I will be happy to spend my hard worked money elsewhere. read more

Most uncomfortable shopping experience I've had in a looooong time... my boyfriend and I decided to stop in to this location to stock up on some essentials and clothing, and we noticed this one security guard (short older woman with short brown hair, don't know her name) was following my boyfriend around the whole store and watching his every move. Mind you, my boyfriend was dressed in normal clothing, NO backpack, nothing that made him look like a criminal in any way. Except he has tattoos? I really don't know. But it got so bad to where my boyfriend finally decided to say something to her, and all she had to say was "I'm just doing my job." .... what is your job exactly lady? To judge shoppers as soon as they enter they enter the building, and make them feel like they're doing something wrong just for being in the store?? We ended up putting everything we had back and left empty handed because we were so shocked and disgusted by how we were treated. I come here often and I always leave happy. There is always new merchandise to look through and amazing deals! I tend to buy everything here... clothes, beauty products, kitchenwares... you name it. The staff is not incredibly welcoming, but they are efficient. The changing rooms are always clean, and the bathrooms are tolerably clean as well. I usually come in the late evening when there is barely anyone else there! Lines can get long, especially around the holiday season, but I find the deals are worth it! read more
