Had a really great float experience at Reboot! It was my first time trying float therapy and the attendant walked us through the steps and guidance. Each room is equipped with a shower, the float pod and basic towels an shower products. The float experience itself was so cool and it really helps you clear your mind and meditate in a peaceful, zen environment. The facilities felt very clean and comfortable as well. After floating, there is a powder room outside with small hairdryers, some more hair and facial products to help you get ready again to head out. I finally found my self care regimen. Reboot offers a peaceful time out from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets of San Francisco. Granted closing one in a small pod of Sali e water isnt for everyone, but maybe try one of their cryo or sauna booths instead. Being an aphant, I was worried that removing all sensory stimuli would kick my senses in overdrive... Some may have experienced more vivid experiences....not for me though... It was just an hour of calm floatiness.. Listening to my heart rate and enjoying peace. This was our first time at Reboot Float Spa, and we had been looking forward to this experience for a while. We were genuinely excited to try something new and relax together--but the experience was completely ruined by how we were treated afterward. After our session, my boyfriend and I were approached by the two women at the front desk who accused us of going back and forth between each other's rooms and leaving a shower door open--none of which happened. We were quiet, respectful, and followed every rule. Instead of asking us privately or even giving us the benefit of the doubt, they spoke to us in a rude, condescending tone in front of other guests in the lobby. It wasn't discreet or professional--it was embarrassing and felt completely unnecessary. The whole interaction felt judgmental and targeted. As a couple, it was hard not to feel like there was an underlying tone of homophobia in the way we were spoken to. Nobody deserves to be treated like that--especially not paying customers just trying to enjoy a peaceful experience. We left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. First impressions matter, and this one made it very clear that this isn't a space we'd feel comfortable returning to. read more

This was my first time at this location. I went to the Marina location several years ago and really enjoyed it. This spa was also lovely, very clean and zen with everything you need for the float and after, and the staff were friendly and provided good tips. I enjoy the solitude and I love effortlessly floating. However, my room lights never turned off all the way - they're supposed to be motion sensitive, but stayed lit the entire time. I would've mentioned it on my way out but didn't want to be late for my next appointment.* One tip for anyone with tinnitus like me: as you probably know, earplugs and absolute silence (both of which are necessary for this experience) will make the ringing deafening. Before getting in the pod, put your phone in airplane mode, place it on a stool near the pod, and turn on some pink noise. *Update 10 days later: One more star for responsiveness and an excellent float experience. Management realized a contractor had disabled the sensor in my float room and credited me for the float. Today everything went perfectly. read more

I decided to check this place out based on the reviews for deep relaxation, so I was excited to experience it. I love how modern this place looks, from the layout to the neon-looking signs and the futuristic furniture. You get to choose a pod prior to arrival, and they ask you what type of music (if any) you would like to hear. It's all really cool and it made me over the moon excited for my relation experience. Once you get in the pod, you need to shower to ensure you are clean before you go sit in the pod, which is filled with recycled water. Think pool backwash. Also- if you have any sores- they are Vaseline so they won't burn. And ear plugs, since it gets loud in the pod. You can keep the pod open or close it for the full immersive experience. I chose to close it, and have music playing, which was pretty nice. The session was about 30 minutes in length, which was the right amount of time. Overall, I was able to relax, save for one thing. I know a lot of folks love this and use it as a way to decompress, and I can see why. Unfortunately that didn't work for me, but I still like and can appreciate the concept. I also love how clean the place was and very modern looking. The price point also isn't bad, especially since you can get a deal as well. But about that one thing: the smell. There's something about the smell that I couldn't get over. I thought it would pass, but it didn't, and it's one reason why this can't be my thing to do for relaxation. That smell was jarring. It smelled like tanned flesh, with a frito-like eau de parfum aura. Very unsettling. I didn't like taking deep breaths because it would get in my nose and I would swallow it, and gross! I've been going to Reboot every so often for the past few years and I always seem to have issues every time I visit this location. Here, I've tried the cryo, sauna, float tank, and compression boots. Cryo: I've only tried a couple other style of cryo machines but this one is my favorite because it's fully enclosed and seems more pro-level. You can always have them adjust that though by opening the window or adjusting the temp of your 3 minute session. They provide all the coverage you would need to protect your extremities and you can pick a song to listen to to help you pass the time! Sauna: 30 minute infrared sauna session that fits up to two people if you want to come with a friend or significant other, the sauna gets around 150 degrees but because it's infrared it isn't unbearable heat. Definitely recommend bringing an insulated water bottle with cold water and trying out all colors of the LED light in there! No shower to wash off after, but they provide body wipes. I recommend doing the float tank right after to shower and continue relaxing. Only a curtain covering the sauna from the rest of the space so it can get loud and hard to relax if you're sitting there naked. Float tank: I honestly don't have experience with other styles of float/sensory deprivation tanks to compare, but I really like the ones they have at Reboot but the ones they have here seem to malfunction a lot. If it is functioning well, the water is well-temped and you have an option to pick what style of audio you'd like - no music at all or some music at the beginning and/or end to get you in the zone or help you come out of it. It can take some tries getting used to the experience overall but their staff can help you get comfortable. It comes with a shower with all you need to wash off before and after. Compression boots: these are basically large inflatable socks that pull up to your thighs and fill with air to squeeze the sh*t out of your legs to help with circulation. I like how it feels, especially if your legs are sore after a workout. For this session, you get to sit on their bean bag chairs in an area off the lobby so it's not private. I don't like this location as much as the other in the city because the staff is less helpful, especially when the floats malfunction, and it's not as relaxing overall. I honestly only go here to get to use the cryo that they don't have in the marina location. Everything is at least as clean as the other one! read more

The staff is exceptionally friendly and the only issue I've ever had was when I got into the cold plunge too fast and accidentally flooded the room (pro tip: no cannonballs into the cold plunge), which the team was kind enough not to make me feel bad about. Reboot Float & Cryo Spa is back open! I was injured in a car accident in late February, suffering a concussion, whiplash, and a hand injury. I have been consistently coming here for cryotherapy, infrared sauna sessions, compression boots, cold plunging, and floatation therapy. Disclaimer: this is not medical advice, but flotation has definitely helped in my concussion recovery. And both the cryotherapy and local cryo treatments have significantly helped with my whiplash and hand injury. As great as the physical benefits have been, what has been unexpected are the very tangible mental benefits I've experienced from the many services offered here. After a session here, whether it's a float, cryotherapy, a cold plunge, or a session in the infrared sauna- my sleep has felt deeper; I'm more well rested the next morning; my anxiety levels are lower; and my overall mood levels (and dare I say optimism) are higher than they were when I walked in. Really cozy spa. I've been looking forward to a float for decades, but an irrational fear of drowning kept me away from water for years. Now that I'm past that, floating is on my bucket list. The attendant was friendly and welcoming. The facilities are intimate and close, in that they only have one tank. They put some black boot things on your legs and it puts pressure on your legs. You can press the buttons on the control yourself. They have some other services like "Flow" and "Cryotherapy." I'll try the other services. Danny helped me out today and he was nice. They opened this location in March. They have one in the Marina and one in East Bay. Danny said that the Warriors teammates use Reboot in East Bay. This is interesting on ClassPass. Danny said it's for marathon runners or other athletes. They have a sauna. I didn't have caffeine and even turned off all the lights, but I still found it hard to get into a meditative state. Perhaps I just have one of those minds that is hard to quiet. I find meditation extremely challenging, & my thoughts go to a million different places during bikram yoga. Floating in one of Reboot's pods was no different. Relaxation & euphoria never came over me, so I can't say I experienced the same benefits as other users. Actually, if anything, I felt nauseous & headachy after my hour-long float. While I'd rather spend that hour on a massage table (because I feel its restorative benefits immediately during & after), this adult time out provides a unique kind of respite for some. Whether you choose sensory deprivation or glowing lights & soothing music, it can't be a bad idea to momentarily tune out of reality. The facility & pod are new & clean, & the staff members took their time explaining the process to us. The locker room is well stocked with high-quality products; you can pretty much leave all your toiletries at home because they've got after-shower essentials covered. **NOTE: I originally had this place as 5 stars, however, with the time that has passed, I realized the following: 1) My experience was totally unremarkable. I forgot about it the second I left and only remembered when people would ask me how it was. 2) I'd never go back to float. I'm open to trying cryo, but floating did nothing for me. 3) The 5 stars was largely for how beautiful, clean, and new the facility was, and how kind the staff were. _________ For several years now, I've been wanting to float. I was immediately intrigued but kept talking myself out of it for two reasons: 1) I'll freak out. (Back in high school, I wouldn't even shut a tanning bed on myself, so imagine me spending an hour in a giant pod of water that closes into pitch-black darkness), and 2) I'll be cold. (I get cold easily and find 100-105F hot tubs to be lukewarm, so being in skin-temperature water didn't sound so hot to me...no pun intended.) Neither were true. So, if you happen to be like me, there's hope! Re: #1 -- You can keep a light on if you wish, and even tune it to your preferred color. I never thought I'd be in the pod without it, but I found myself reaching for the switch just a minute in. Having light kills the experience....so I killed the light. (It looks like I'm full of puns today, aren't I...) Re: #2 -- The pod is surprisingly warm - to the point that I found it a bit hard to breathe. While taking a deep breath every few minutes, that movement was enough to create small waves and get me bobbing about. That said, I was thrilled to not be cold. For sound, you have the option of doing zen music all the way through, music for the first 10 min and last 5, or none at all. Plugging in your own music is still-to-come but coming soon. When the music started, I realized it was the music I really love (the kind they play at spas/massage places). I instantly regretted not asking for music all the way through, but when it stopped I actually didn't mind. My only issue then was that I knew when it came back, it meant I had only five minutes left. Trying to stop my brain from hunting for music was a challenge. The experience itself was interesting. I honestly can't say I feel any different than before (which makes me feel awkward giving five stars) but there wasn't anything wrong with it. I had a couple cool moments during the float, but the process of getting out of the pod when my session ended, then jumping into the shower, completely erased any memory of floating. My body also felt no change. After a massage, you at least feel jello-y for the next couple hours, but here I felt the exact same as when I walked in. I've read that it can take several sessions before you reap the benefits, but that's a decent investment with no guarantee. I won't dive into the process, as you can find that everywhere - including their own website - but I definitely suggest googling floatation tank tips prior to going for the first time. I was glad I did, because I knew what to expect and how to make the most of the session. For a place that's just opened, Reboot in the Mission really has their stuff together. Staff are lovely, and the interior is wonderful. It's clean and well-designed, and they have lots of goods for you to spruce up with post-float (or cryo/sauna). I tried my first float as my wife bought the 99 for 2 package. It's been 2 days since the float - it's effects on me at least 2-3 times better than a superb massage. The refreshed feeling stayed even after 3 hours of tennis today. I would highly recommend trying it! I did what they recommended- no music, no lights. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I was excited for my float but this wasn't the relaxing experience I remember from a few years ago! The staff were very nice and I quickly got assigned to a room. However once I got there they mentioned that the ambient lighting wasn't working, so there was only one spotlight type lamp on a nearby shelf, gave the room a slightly eerie vibe. There are general signs of wear and tear, from the peeling paint, the worn shelving but the least relaxing thing was the ants that I kept finding all over the doorframe and in the shower. Bummer! The water temp was perfect, on the plus side. But I think I will try the Marina location next time. read more

My bf and I came in for a float on Friday night. I suggested it as I had a particularly stressful and difficult week, when I'd had a few panic attacks and couldn't sleep. I'd done floats in New York City, and found them to be extremely relaxing and the only spaces in NYC I could find with complete and total silence. Through that experience, I realized that noise pollution itself creates a lot of stress for me. The facilities at Reboot are very nice: each float pod is in its own room, and in the room are all the amenities you might want as well as a shower for pre-float and post-float cleaning. You go into the float naked, so no need to bring a bathing suit. During the first 10 minutes of the float, the pod plays quiet and relaxing music. Then the music fades, and you float in silence for ~45 minutes. During this time, I closed the pod and enjoyed the total darkness. The only thing that was not perfect about this float is that it was not totally 100% silent: I could hear some small disturbances from outside the room, and for me at least, that was definitely not ideal. I really like TOTAL sensory deprivation. In the last 5 minutes, the music comes on again, and then the pod prompts you to leave the float. The pod's self-cleaning and water filter mechanism then turns on, and there are loud whirring noises in the room until you leave. Overall, the float was really enjoyable - I had a great sleep the night after I finished the float. I would definitely do it again. The only small complaint I have is that I wish the float rooms were soundproofed, so that I could have total sensory deprivation, but this small detail wouldn't stop me from going back. read more

It's kind of like how those pay-per-minute chair massages give your legs and feet a good squeeze but better. It's literally a boot and you control the pressure. It's a must-do if you've been walking around all day or even coming back from a long flight/traveling for a long period of time. Bring socks and find a comfortable position while you sit - it gets hard to adjust. Also, bring headphones or you can zen out in their lounge with that cool mood lighting they have going on. This review is specifically for my sauna experience at the Mission location. It was a terrible experience & I will never go back to this Reboot location (I will return to the location in the Marina for Fire&Ice & sauna assuming its in a dedicated room and not just behind a curtain). 1- Broken restroom, no alternative option - Before my sauna session I requested to use the restroom and they informed me that "the restroom was broken and that I could go find one in the neighborhood to use if I really had to go" - you're kidding me right? You should cancel appointments if your only bathroom is out of order or at LEAST inform clients before hand. I had no choice but to hold it as I would've wasted time walking around the neighborhood to find a restroom and it would have cut my sauna session that I paid for, short. 2- No Privacy - To my surprise, the sauna wasn't in a private/enclosed room .. it was behind a thin curtain that's held together by clips... while you have visible privacy you don't really have much privacy.... as what should've been a relaxing quiet session in the sauna was instead an uncomfortable + very loud session as I could hear everything going on in the place - the receptionist on the phone and talking to clients + people talking loud in the waiting area. This went on the entire time. They have a small bluetooth speaker that you can use but have the audacity to put a sign on the wall that says "KEEP MUSIC VOLUME LOW TO BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS" really? so I need to be mindful of the receptionist and all the people talking loudly in the lobby area during MY paid service...? And if Reboot is worried about disturbing other clients in other rooms, I suggest you invest in real doors. You can tell that Reboot jammed everything into a small space just to maximize profit and didn't consider the comfort or privacy of clients when designating space for their services. 3- Sauna heat, not hot enough - The sauna was not NEARLY hot enough nor is the session long enough to reap the benefits. I was informed that I was not allowed to adjust the temperature up as it "ruins it for the next person because the staff has to adjust the temp back down"... so essentially I'm at the mercy of what makes the staffs life easier? 4- DIRTY- Lastly, and most importantly, the sauna was not clean. This is unacceptable, a place like this should prioritize sanitization above all things. There was hair and dust all over the sauna and the saunas crevices- I didn't see this until after my session when the lights came on and I was disgusted. Had I seen this initially I wouldn't have even gone in. I told the staff after that I was disappointed with the service and they couldn't care less - not one apology. This was a complete waste of time and money and I hope that the Reboot in the Marina continues to deliver a better experience. read more

Eeeek, hated the experience. Float therapy is one of those things that sounds cool in concept but not that great once executed. Also, it's honestly only good for anyone that has perfect skin bc if you have any cuts or acne or sensitive skin in general the salt will STING. I am an avid runner and have found cryotherapy very beneficial for recovery. I had previously gone to a cryo practice in Marin. I was very happy with how I felt after the treatment and even better the next morning. I decided to give reboot a try since it was much closer to my home. The facility in the mission is very nice. Clean, attractive, well-equipped. That said, my treatment was not effective. They called the treatment that I had a full body treatment, but had me wear thick socks that covered by lower leg, calf, and knee. These are all areas that I would have liked treatment. The treatment seemed to provide zero benefit to my sore calf muscles and limited benefit to my lower back. The staff suggested that I get the full body treatment and targeted treatment (thus costing double). I'll be driving to Marin or trying another SF practice. read more
