I'm so glad there is a Reboot in SF! My partner and I booked a sauna to help us recuperate after a half marathon and it's a pretty great deal that the price to use the sauna is the same price for 1 or 2 people. We've looked into some of the package deals, and they have so many combos/options. The price for sauna is not bad at all - and if you have a package, the price reduces to $30/session. There is basically a package/combo for any arrangement of services you can imagine. We've found the staff to be helpful, and the facilities are clean. Overall, 10/10 recommend and I hope their prices stay reasonable because folks need all the accessible healing services we can get these days. read more

The cold plunge is, well, cold but worth every second you can stay in. The sauna is great as well. I also love the sauna since my gym doesn't have one. Entering, there's slippers for you if you wanted to wear that or go barefoot. Nice lounge and complimentary iced refreshing cucumber water and electrolytes packets for the win to be hydrated before and/or after session. When I was booking online for Cryo, I called to gain some clarity and the receptionist can view what you're viewing concurrently while I was on the call with them. It was a nice technique and same day appointment was very convenient. Luckily, opted for Angelique and she was super sweet during the cryo session as well as made the time go by quickly! It was painless and quite relaxing. Post red marks though. She gave me a dry brush so I'm guessing I should apply some aloe afterwards for soothing the skin. Will be back! read more

Highly recommend -- especially if you're super active. I love booking a fire and ice (sauna and cold plunge) after physical activities that take a toll on my body. I had a membership for a while and really liked the ease of booking and the perks of being able to bring a guest for a small price. They added a traditional sauna option but I love the infrared personally. Traditional is a bit more intense if that's what you're looking for. Came across a Groupon deal and figured I'd try out a float as a nice self care gift to myself. If you feel stressed/overwhelmed by the chaos of life, I highly recommend trying it out. I thought the hour would be too short, though it was perfect; time moves slow when you're alone in your thoughts and away from the outside world. The room itself is completely private, so you have the freedom to enter the pod with a bathing suit or without. There is a shower in the room for you to cleanse before and after, toiletries included. One thing I must comment on is the cleanliness--while there were no visible debris in the water, I did notice that the inside of the tank had subtle bits of black spots (mold?) along with what appeared to be stubble/male hair. Although it wasn't anything repulsive, they should try to clean up the tanks between clients. Also, my room didn't seem to have music and only had red lights which was a bit disappointing. However I ended up leaving the lights off so it was ok. Overall, it was a great and experience and although I would not pay full price and do this regularly, it's a refreshing treatment that left me feeling calm yet energized. read more

This place needs to rename itself. They're no longer offering floating AT ALL. I am beyond disappointed. How can you say you're a float spa and discontinue the float pods indefinitely?! I've been coming here since 2016 and I drive all the way from Novato. It's 30 minutes to the Marina. The Mission and Rockridge locations are a good 60 minutes both ways which makes it not a relaxing option at all. With the Marina location no longer offering floating, I guess my floating days are over. read more

When this place first opened I frequented it and always loved it. I haven't been back post- pandemic until I recently bought a few packages for the Infrared Sauna and Floats. The ambiance as soon as you walk in is very calming/relaxing. I headed to the sauna first, which is a private room with a private sauna, complete with amenities and the option to change the color of the sauna light (pretty cool). Outside of the sauna room is a vanity area to freshen up after a service, also stocked with anything you can think of to get ready and presentable after. *I will note that there is no shower if you are just doing the sauna* I followed the sauna with a float. The private float rooms each have a shower to rinse off and wash your hair PRE & POST float. The lighting in the rooms is calming and once you're in the pod (with earplugs in your ears) you turn out the light in the pod yourself and decide on music with the front desk as to what kind and for how long of your 1 hour float. 5 minutes before the float is over the music will return. Thank goodness because I always fall into a deep sleep. Lying in the body temperature water, floating in complete darkness allows for a deep meditation or sleep that relaxes every muscle in your body. With my medical conditions, the floats are very therapeutic to my body. I feel super revived after each one. Post float you shower and get ready in the room and can use the vanity area to finish up. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They offer memberships and other services here, such as Cryo therapy that I have yet to try. read more

I've been going to Reboot every so often for the past few years and enjoyed each experience when I go. At this location, I've tried the sauna, float tank, and fire & ice room. Sauna: 30 minute infrared sauna session that fits up to two people if you want to come with a friend or significant other, the sauna gets around 150 degrees but because it's infrared it isn't unbearable heat. Definitely recommend bringing an insulated water bottle with cold water and trying out all colors of the LED light in there! No shower to wash off after, but they provide body wipes. I recommend doing the float tank right after to shower and continue relaxing. Float tank: I honestly don't have experience with other styles of float/sensory deprivation tanks to compare, but I really like the ones they have here! They keep the water perfectly temped and they give you the option to pick what style of audio you'd like - no music at all or some music at the beginning and/or end to get you in the zone or help you come out of it. It can take some tries getting used to the experience overall but their staff can help you get comfortable. It comes with a shower with all you need to wash off before and after. Fire & ice: one of their newer installments at this location and I like it! You get 45 minutes to cycle between a sauna and ice bath and it comes with a shower to wash off before and after. The sauna is bigger than their normal sauna and the room can accept two people but you'd have to pay an additional $15 to do so. The reboot chain offers a lot of packages and discounts especially around the holidays so that's when I like to stock up for future visits. I haven't been to the East Bay location but out of the ones in the city this is my favorite because the staff are more helpful, floats function as expected, and sauna has a door that closes you off from the rest of the space (rather than a curtain like in the mission). I just wish they had a cyro machine here like the mission so I could use my freeze credits here too! read more

Overall, a little over priced for the experience, after having used the facility for 10 or sessions. I bought an unlimited membership to then have 2 of the 3 fire + ice rooms broken for the first month. I was refunded $250 in credit, which unfortunately requires me to spend another $250 to realize my refund, should I choose to return at the same level of membership. Rooms are generally well appointed, but could use a little shifting around / different countertops for setting items while plunging / in sauna. On the membership front, it's relatively confusing, even for someone determined to understand -- staff seems to struggle with the same issue. Would love to see a package that includes multiple services (float + sauna + cryo) I'm sure the team is working to improve -- excited to see things change for the better! read more

I would give it more stars, but the tank had mold on the walls. It made me question the overall cleanliness - they obviously don't clean the walls much... do they clean the neck rests? This was my second time having a float but first time at this location. Made the appointment on line without any issues. Came in about 15 min earlier and the room was already ready for me. The place is bright and super clean and very relaxing. The room with the float has a small area to undress w basic hygiene items - lotion, q-tips, ear plugs, wipes etc and next to it it is an open shower, shampoo and soap are provided. Once again room is very clean and the host will show you how to work the machine. You float away for 60 min, the first 10 and last 5 min, the music comes. You have the option to close the lid and have the light on or off. There is an area where you can dry your hair - wonderful hair, face and body products are provided. There is also a small area where you can relax before or after - 4 comfy chairs and water is provided. read more

Just finished my first float therapy appointment and I absolutely loved it. I've tried a lot of things for stress relief (acupuncture, cupping, regular massage, chiropractic) so I wanted to give this a try after reading a TIME magazine article about its effects on PTSD (not that I have it). The spa attendant (Adea) was really helpful in explaining the process and what I should expect in my first session. It was basically a floating corpse pose and can be a little claustrophobic at first. It starts with a little meditative music that turns into complete silence (the music comes back on around 5 minutes before your time is up). I used the solitary time to concentrate on deep breathing. At certain points in the process, you will notice and feel the parts of your body that's tight and I basically practiced some deep breathing into those parts. After the session, I felt a little blissed out and noticed almost immediate relaxation on my sore muscles (it's akin to the feeling right after a deep massage). I had been feeling a lot of wrist pain and that's where I felt the greatest benefits. I immediately signed up for a monthly membership. Looking forward to coming here again for my next visit. read more

I have been going to the "reboot float in cyro spa" in Rockridge for about 8 months consistently now, 1-2 times per week. The facility here is exceptionally clean, friendly, assertive, and knowledgeable of the experience. The staff here greets you by your first name and goes above and beyond their normal call of duty to make sure that you leave happy, and relaxed. A little tricky parking sometimes, so I recommend parking in the Safeway parking lot or getting there early to find a place up front. I have referred well over 10 people to come with me ranging from my 72-year-old father to my little niece who is 15 and they all enjoyed the experience without question. Being a seasoned "floater" now if there's three things that I can recommend it would be: 1. Slightly crack the lid for air circulation and to avoid feeling claustrophobic. 2. Where the thinner head supportt donut to support your neck throughout the float halfway and than remove the second half. 3. Bring your iPhone to hook up to play your favorite relaxing music as the standard music is kind of cheesy and repetitive. SUPER BONUS TIP: eat some cannabis eadibles exactLy 25 minutes before float. It will change your life and create a much more spiritual relaxing experience. But whatever you do, no smoking the green stuff inside the rooms/pods. They don't like that and will ask you to leave and never come back. I slept in a pod that looked like a UFO spaceship except I was nekkid and didn't get eaten by some alien monster. Reboot presents as a bright, clean spa with private rooms housing these UFO's (pods, if you will).Inside these rooms, you'll find a shower, space to undress, toiletries to keep you fresh and clean for your post E.T. experience. When you're floating, just imagine that you're alone in this earth with your thoughts. You float in highly concentrated salt water. Inside a pod. (Claustrophobes beware!) Once floating, type A personalities may find it hard to clear the mind, but the soothing voice of Norah Jones through the underwater speakers might help you. Or not, I turned mine off so I can sink in and just be. After an hour, you'll emerge as a more saltier version of yourself, but also feel very relaxed. Really clean float therapy spot! The tubs look like the stuff out of outer space movies, which is pretty cool in my opinion. The owner was staffing the front desk - very nice gentleman who explained all the different ways to make our experience more comfortable. I showered in the corner of the room, then stepped into the pod. I opted to keep my pod fully closed because I was still pretty cold in the room. The water was the perfect temperature. I soon lost track of where it ended and I started. Music was playing the first 15 minutes, which I enjoyed. When it clicked off, I had a peaceful experience but the time stretched in for a long time. No surprise - I'm not good at meditating. I tried my best to quiet my mind, but I kept bumping into the sides, so I then tried to focus on keeping super still. Every time I bumped into a side and started drifting the opposite way, it was a trip: I felt like I was rushing down a fast, still river. Every so often, air would blow into the pod. I guess to keep it breathable, but that chilled me every time it happened and brought me out of the experience. My friend, who did one at the same time, really enjoyed the experience, but he spent most of it playing around with floating because he can't swim, so floating was a totally new sensation to him. To each his own! I heard float therapy takes a while to get used to, so I'd try it a few more times if I could. It was a great first experience. read more

Went in on the advice of my chiropractor, who thought it would be helpful therapy in my recovery from taking a tumble on my skis (lingering concussion symptoms). I've been having trouble focusing at work, trouble multi tasking, trouble with memory, etc. The staff at Reboot Marina were so helpful and accommodating of all of my questions as a first timer and so eager to share their own enthusiasm for float therapy and what it's done for them. The facilities were clean, and I enjoyed all the little extras like nice-smelling soaps, lotion, and face wipes. The pod was comfortable and water was the perfect temperature, it was like floating on a cloud. It took awhile to get my mind to go quiet, but once I finally drifted off I was surprised to be awakened by the announcement that my session was over. I can't believe how good I feel: calm, quiet, and pretty much free of all anxious thoughts. And I can't wait to see how long this feeling lasts. I will definitely be back for more. My only wish is that there was a facility in Marin so I could visit more often! read more

OPEN. That is the one thing that you have to be in order to do something like this. Can you step out of your comfort zone and do that? If you can, then this just might be for you. I've always dabbled in meditation but I have the *hardest* time letting my thoughts be still. I'm sure all of you can relate to me on this. I mean really? How do I direct my thoughts to flow like a river out of my brain into a stream of nothingness? Yup, not happening. So when an opportunity came up to be submersed in a saltwater pod, how could I say no? First off, I love water. Secondly, I love floating. Instinctively I knew that I had to try this. Thanks to a gilt.com deal ($45 for an hour), I jumped at the chance. Greeted by Mike Garrett (the owner), we walked into a pristinely white modern lobby with white couches, spa water, and iPads equipped with headphones for us to listen to an introduction of what we were getting into. So helpful for all of us newbies about to get naked (yes it's clothing optional) into our private pods. After the short intro, Mike took us on a tour of our private rooms where we would shower first, put in some earplugs, then proceed to climb into our pods. The pods themselves look like white oblong shaped eggs. I eagerly stripped down and showered while the music played long enough for us to get in and close the latch. We were directed to take the position that was most comfortable for us-- I chose the "I surrender" pose which had both of my arms raised up next to my sides. Because of the high saltwater content, I floated quickly and easily. After a few movements, I settled nicely into my new blacked out environment and closed my eyes. I was surprised at how easily I transitioned into my floating experience. It felt warm, enveloping, and so relaxing that I fell asleep. How do I know this? Because an hour later when the music started playing again to let us know that our time was up, my eyes fluttered open. Where did the time go? I floated to the opening of the latch (the blue lights were now turned on inside the pod) and opened it up so that I could take a shower. Immediately after I got out, the water in pod started filtering out-- ready for the next pod-user. Once dressed, they had a changing area with blowdryers, lotion, q-tips, and anything else you might need to be "life" ready again. Ask me if I would do it again? My answer is of course yes. I only wish there was a location like this closer to San Jose. read more

Before I say anything else, I just have to say Brooke is awesome! She's so welcoming, and really easy to talk to. I saw the ESPN video with Steph Curry and Harrison Barnes. I thought, if it's good enough for the Warriors, it's good enough for me! I also do Epsom salt baths at home, but it's obviously not the same. I was in Room 4, which is one of their bigger rooms. I'm not sure if the 60mins start right when the music starts, because I had to take my pre-float shower and I heard the music through my ear plug. It took awhile to relax in the pod. I kept it open, but I wanted the full experience, so I got up to close it. I forgot which button was which, so I kept pressing them until the light turned off. I didn't remember how to turn off the music, but I could barely hear it anyway. Per the instructions, I counted to 300, but started drifting at 150.. It became harder to count because I was inbetween sleep and awake. My body would twitch if I fell asleep, but my body felt too heavy too move when I was awake. It's a weird state of being, but it was really relaxing. I knew time was up when the light suddenly turned on. I was told the music would gently wake me up, but since it was on for the whole time, the light turning on felt drastic. I got up, took my post-shower, and went to their vanity area to dry my hair. I'm so glad they had face lotion available because my skin tends to dry, especially when it's windy. The spa is very, very clean. You can't wear your shoes inside as they provide you with clean flip flops. There's water and tea for you to drink in the lobby for further detoxification. I felt so relaxed afterwards, as if I got a massage. I've booked 3 more sessions and I can't wait to get my float on! Tip: wear loose clothing. I wore running pants and after lotioning, it was hard to put on and I was running into the other session's time. It wasn't a Ross Gellar situation with his powder-lotion-paste and leather pants fiasco, but it took some time to put on my clothes. read more

The Need: Living in an Urban area packed with stressful things such as long work hours, heavy traffic, noise, information, and mind pollution, deadlines, etc, leads one feeling battered down, broken, and feeling less than whole. I woke up for my Sunday morning run feeling a malaise after having run two marathons in March, work pressure with a lot of work deadlines stressing me out, and just an overall state of being less than optimal. After my run, I felt utterly defeated and downcast. I heard about the opening of Reboot in SF and the Float Spa concept and decided to test it on a day where I felt I needed some physical, mental, and even spiritual healing. First Impression: My being needed to be rebooted. So I came here open-minded willing to give Reboot Float Spa a try. The interior exudes the classic minimalist spa vibe that puts one in the mood for healing. Mike, the person who runs this operation, has a strict schedule that runs efficiently. We arrived 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time in order to learn about the float pods and Mike was very helpful and even provided a complimentary water and a video instructional guide that explains what the experience is like. The Rules: The pods are very clean looking and the rooms are tranquil and promote relaxation. Prior to getting in the pod, you must shower and clean up, wear ear goggles and vaseline any cuts to prevent burning from the salts touching the open wound. Once you're in the pod, you can close it or keep it open and you simply float and "let go." The Experience: I was amazed at how calming it was. I felt as if I was floating in space. I first focused on breathing, then focused on area of my body that were sore, then on my emotional stresses, and than on my overall being. I paid for and floated for an hour and to me, it felt like 20 minutes. While in the pod, eventually, you will be in complete darkness. At first, I felt a tad enclosed, but thru breathing felt as if the space around me was expanding infinitely allowing me to see myself, my worries, my aches, pains, etc. etc. as being miniscule when placed before the universe I imagined myself in. For 45 minutes, there was complete silence, weightlessness, and a feeling of focus that I lacked coming into it. I felt healed, no soreness from my running, energetic, relaxed, rejuvinated and whole again. Rebooted so to speak. I found this to be an incredible experience. If I had the choice of getting a nice massage or this, I would take this everytime. I'm a believer and expect to add this to my routine. Tip: Sunday evening's a great time to come here as street parking is free and aplenty. read more

My bf and I are officially float heads. We've sought out and tried pretty much every float spot in the immediate Bay Area. So we were delighted to find out that Reboot had recently opened- especially because they have the float pods (which we haven't been able to find at any of the other Bay Area float spots-- most places have some variation of the older float/isolation tanks). So what makes Reboot so awesome? For one, these state of the art float pods really set Reboot apart. Unlike the older float tanks at other float centers, these pods have a light you can control inside (especially good for those who are prone to claustrophobia / wary of feeling disoriented) and have the ability to play music (currently, gentle/zen music plays during the first 10 min of your float and then turns on again during the last 5 min of your float). While these sensory inputs arguably detract from the whole point of a "sensory deprivation" float, they're a great way of easing the user's transition into and out of the full blown session. The space here is also the best of all the places I've been to. There are 4 spacious individual rooms, each with a pod, shower, changing area, and artwork. I particularly appreciated the giant showerhead and steady water pressure (not to be taken for granted, as this is hard to come by at other float spots). Aside from the float pod rooms, there's a vanity area with an additional sink and blow dryer and a clean, simple lounge area with some canned beverages for purchase. Also unlike some of the other float centers, Reboot asks all first time visitors to watch a specially created video (by the Spirit Science folks for those youtube heads out there). Thought this was a really nice touch - as each float center is different (with a different protocol for using the tanks) and creating an engaging video is a good way to scale to a larger audience. Only suggestion I have: q-tips would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, awesome experience, will definitely be coming back! read more

The first float here in Reboot Float Spa was definitely refreshing! It's one of the unforgettable and unique experience in my must-try list. Coming all the way here to float reminded me that I love to be in outer space and feel what it's truly like being weightless one day. Also, I can only do it once a year if I feel like it. Brooke was very helpful every time I asked her. I had to so that I would never lose track during my first session. Of course, it's better for me to pay first; otherwise, I wouldn't come here to float. Then, I turned on the iPad to watch the short video of an instructor showing us what to do and what not to do before and after the float. Upon entering one of the rooms, everything here was well organized and that makes me feel a lot easier during the session; the shower panel between the clothes rack on a bottom right side and the shower head along with shampoo and conditioner on a top right side while the entire left was the nifty floating pod. After taking off my clothes and having a shower, I opened the pod and felt so warm and humid. I started to get inside, closed the lid, and began floating. Gallons of water with several hundred pounds of Epsom salt seemed warm at first until it got a little cooler. It's amazing to see myself float like a leaf; still, my head was aligned towards the shell of the pod. I wanted to sleep by closing my eyes; but I had to remain semi conscious for less than one hour. Hopefully it's not like I sink to the bottom once I drift to sea. When I started to hear the soothing background music, I knew it's time for me to exit the pod. I took the shower to remove the Epsom salt from my body so that I wouldn't have any trace of it when putting my clothes on. Finally, I headed to where I must blow-dry my hair and headed to the seating area where I can relax with a hot cup of oolong tea. After floating for so long, I came out a new man. Kinda made me feel like I'm young again after coming out of the floating pod. The atmosphere was crisp and relaxing, Brooke was great to talk to, and everything like towels and earplugs prepared for me was impeccable! I have tried one session of the infrared sauna so far. First impression: nice, clean front desk area. They ask you to switch into provided flip flops there that you will use throughout the facilities. The private sauna room is quite small, but big enough for one person to change in. There are no showers, so be prepared with appropriate clothes (for post-sauna sweatiness). They do have towels, wet body wipes, and electrolytes in the room. They say you can use a single sauna/appointment for 2 people, but that would be a snug fit in the teeny tiny sauna. I used it by myself, and there wasn't not much room for my legs/feet to rest. With 2 people I imagine you sit upright next to each other for the duration of the 30 minute appointment. Being able to control the color of the lights was a nice touch. Not sure how much I believe in chromotherapy, but it's there if you do. read more

I've been coming here since it opened a couple years ago. Had many excellent floats. Took a hiatus during covid and recently returned. But now that SF public health requires proof of vaccination Reboot appears to not be in compliance. Email confirmation for Sunday makes no mention of vax requirement. Breathing air from other people in a tank for an hour is high saturation exposure to small number of people. What's that risk? read more

As. Good. As. It. Gets. I have wanted to try floating for some time. I think the mix of deprivation for mental state and the floating for body relaxation were both equally attractive to me. I was excited that I had a day to myself and chose this in lieu of a massage. Was definitely the right choice. I was definitely nervous, about both feeling claustrophobic and being bored. I felt neither. What I did feel was relaxed, refreshed, and renewed both mentally and physically. You were welcomed in by wonderful staff, have an opportunity to unwind with a video so you know what to expect and how to comfortable get the best experience. The rooms are very private, clean, and relaxing. You have everything you need (aside from an outlet to charge your phone while you float). The pod is amazing. Yes you could probably get the same effect from climbing in a giant shoebox shaped pod, there is something just a bit cooler and more amazing climbing into this futuristic egg/seed/cocoon. Getting out of the pod is as equally amazing. It is like crawling out of a hatched egg. Very "awakening" feeling. I loved it so much I became a member, and have raved about it to friends and coworkers. I cannot wait to come back. read more

I thought I hung up my Yelp pen years ago, when I decided that it was extortionist towards small businesses. But here we are... It's a nice facility for a float place. The room was huge, and I liked that I could turn off the music, as opposed to be on this set program. I felt more in control. This place was more spacious. The guy running it was a chill, polite POC. He spoke with effort and care, and softly -- Kinda like my roommate when he greets Customer Service people on the phone. Hold up, wait -- I think I was talking about this float place that I went to down in Redwood City. Oh yeah, Reboot Marina is the complete opposite of what I wrote above. I feel bad for the people who haven't floated before at all. This is disappointing, because it's an otherwise great experience. The best way to mediate for sure. The girl who checked us in brought up a lot of good tips and information, but it was way too rushed. With the amount of information that is needed to be presented to the average person, someone would have probably drowned in a painful death. The only plus side is that the body would be preserved given the amount of epsom salt in the tub. She also didn't like repeating herself. Do you not like repeating yourself? I can't imagine you being busy to the point that you have to respond to simple questions with "I already told you...[actual response]" There are about 4 pods, some compression boot station, and a couple of saunas...how could you possibly be busy? It's not like you're massaging people. You open a door, show the person around and then let them mediate for an hour on why is it that they're so troubled to need to spend $60 an hour to float in a communal bathtub of salt. I'm curious to know know why this place as 100's of reviews, when the other locations, such as The Mission appear to have friendlier staff. By far the best float spa I've ever been to! The pods are top notch. Designed to give you the best floating experience. The shape of the pods is great because if you do "ohms" you get all the vibrations back to your body. I've floated with my own music plugged in, in silence, in darkness and in the color changing setting. All are amazing. Just depends on what you want that day. Everything is so clean and the staff is amazing! My husband and I will continue to come every month if not twice a month. read more

First time here. It was such an amazing experience that everyone has to try at least once in a life time. The place was very clean and instructions were very clear. Also customer service was very friendly. I would of given this place 5 stars however, i didn't feel as relax as it should have been. Maybe it was just that I was having a hard time trying to relax. I think adding a 20-30 minute massage before the float would be a good add on. That way the body can be relaxed by the time it has to float. This would make the floating experience way more relaxing. And I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for the massage. read more
