But Jaime is a class act. On the evening of our consultation, he arrived on time and within a few minutes had measured our space and given us a quote. I've worked with contractors before who demand a deposit up front, which always annoys me, because, in my experience, it's more likely that the contractor will not show up, or won't finish a job, than a home owner deciding not to pay up. But Jaime didn't ask for a deposit. Instead, he said I could pay him when the job was completed. He also warned me that it could cost a little extra if there was any leveling that needed to be done. I appreciated him being upfront. It doesn't hurt that he's also polite, friendly and approachable. He's a busy guy so it took him a few days to get back to us to give us a date he and his crew (of one - our apartment is small) could do the install.
