If you need a contractor in Whatcom county Cool Runnings LLC is who to call. Dave Campbell and his…read moreteam are phenomenal. Not only is their work impeccable, but their dedication to helping their customers out is outstanding. This review is a long time coming, but in the weeks leading up to Christmas on 2015 we had a catastrophic dishwasher leak in our condo. We called our insurance and who brought out water mitigation, and after a week of their dehumidifiers in our condo things still weren't dry. So we called Dave, after a Yelp search revealed high marks and were so glad we did. He came out immediately and pointed out that something was wrong, so he pulled up the subfloor and revealed that there were cracked pipes in the wall that were leading to a much bigger problem. He worked with us through a crazy, and hectic holiday season getting our lives back together and despite having to work with our insurance, the HOA, and the HOA insurance was always putting our needs and concerns first. He knew our budget and worked with us to make sure we were the happiest we could be while staying within our tight budget. One last anecdote about his dedication to his customers: while I was out of town my wife found out that our hot water heater died. It was already in the evening, but when my wife called him (nearly in tears because we were still in the middle of the repair/remodel, had one room that wasn't pure chaos and all she wanted was a shower) he came out THAT NIGHT and replaced it. Cool Runnings will be my first call and first recommendation for ANY contractor work in Whatcom county. The condo turned out great, holiday season saved, and my wife and I couldn't have been happier. Thank you Dave for all your amazing work! Also, this review wouldn't be complete without thanking Eric, one of Dave's excellent workers, personally as well; great workmanship and dedication. TL/DR: Cool Runnings LLC does amazing work, will respect your budget, and treat you amazingly well. If you need a contractor, give Dave a call.

I've hired M & M Home Repair twice: March 2019 and January 2021 to fix broken backyard fence both…read moretimes. Here are pros & cons and my advice if you are thinking of hiring them. PROS + Mike tries to address the cause of the problem. I have lost a total of 7 fence posts in the past 5 years because they rot. Mike used the Rotbloc Wrap to prevent the posts from rotting under the ground. + Mike was able to give me a free estimate and repaired my face. There were delays but he did it in the end. I tried to get a quote from big names in town, but I couldn't. CONS -Both times when I hired Mike, there was a problem with details, some big, some small. First time (2019), his crew fixed my fence but didn't do a good job. He had to come back to fix it himself. Second time (2021), I notice that one of the posts was longer and a few of them were shorter than other posts. He fixed the post that was too long, but there was nothing that could be done with the two posts that are too short (by about 6 inches). ADVICE *Make sure to inspect the site when they are done to make sure everything looks good. *Get quotes from other contractors. I found out later that a Yelper friend of mine in town hired a different contractor and paid less than half of what I paid. I could be comparing apples and oranges, but both he and I had 4 posts replaced in January 2021. Send me a private message if you want to know who my Yelp friend used. *Pay cash/check. There's a 3.9% processing fee for credit card payments. Overall, I'm happy with M & M, and I think I will use them again. However, I would definitely get a quote from other contractors first. ************************************************************ Don't forget to like my review (useful and/or cool)! What happened with this guy?…read more A few years back, during the pandemic, Terry was helpful in cleaning my carpet. Yeah, he shared his controversial beliefs without being asked which was odd and uncomfortable, but he did the work. Fast forward to 2026, after thinking he had retired then being referred to him by another business, I tried his services again. After he arrived and talked at me for about 20-minutes, I took my dogs for a 40-minute walk while he was to clean a 3'x10.5' area. Upon my return he was packing up his supplies and said he was done. I believe all he did was spray Odoban, scrape his vacuum over the carpet and call it good. The carpet showed no sign of deep cleaning and these few weeks later the smell has returned... Odoban wears off, which explains why he left me with a bottle. Bottom line, Terry talks your ear off, you have a 50/50 chance he'll do the work needed, then has the audacity to charge $200 regardless. Also, he complained about his clients, and complained about Bellingham PD, then before he left he also managed to make derogatory statements about "illegals" driving up from Seattle and stealing his work. A "professional" spraying Odoban on carpet is not cleaning and certainly not worth the $200 he charged. While I prefer to entrust local businesses, I cannot use or recommend this one. I do NOT recommend this business, and I won't try a 3rd time.
