The lox spread was costly but quality, loaded with large hunks throughout. All bagels came toasted without us requesting, so specify if you prefer otherwise. There is a lot of stiff competition for great coffee in the area, but Alvarium holds their own. I'm eager to go back and try other specials, if I can resist the urge to reorder the carrot cake one!

You can tell it was freshly baked. We also got a habanero bacon cheddar bagel with spicy cheddar bacon ranch spread. I also got a French toast muffin, which tasted exactly like French toast! I did get the lucky charm March special, however, they ran out of cold brew coffee and it was being brewed overnight. I was able to substitute a regular coffee with an espresso shot. The coffee is OK, it tasted like iced tea mixed with coffee.

In fact, we practically shut the coffeehouse down - right after we walked out, they started locking up and cleaning. I was thrilled to see that the Newington location was finally opened. Rather than processing it, she repeatedly insisted on making the drink, even after I clearly said I preferred a refund. She told me she would process my refund. Two days later the charge went through. The interaction felt confusing and poorly handled. I completed their survey, submitted a comment via their website, and sent them a Yelp message. None which were responded to.

Not bad, but I prefer the lighter yeasty style donuts than the denser, sugar laden ones. As a local donut shop, it's good. The quality is there, but the donuts are not my style.
