My second experience - walked in. I looked at my watch minutes I stood as the first person in line for 8 minutes. I understand there are like 3 customers waiting for their orders. No greeting. There is a lot of stiff competition for great coffee in the area, but Alvarium holds their own. I'm eager to go back and try other specials, if I can resist the urge to reorder the carrot cake one!

You can tell it was freshly baked. We also got a habanero bacon cheddar bagel with spicy cheddar bacon ranch spread. I also got a French toast muffin, which tasted exactly like French toast! I did get the lucky charm March special, however, they ran out of cold brew coffee and it was being brewed overnight. I was able to substitute a regular coffee with an espresso shot. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and makes you feel right at home. They never rush you-my friends and I spent over an hour here after we finished our coffees, and we were never rushed or asked to leave. In fact, we practically shut the coffeehouse down - right after we walked out, they started locking up and cleaning. I was thrilled to see that the Newington location was finally opened. When I'm back, this will definitely be one of my first stops. I would love it if they opened a location in downtown St. Petersburg. I'll become one of their regulars.

Rather than processing it, she repeatedly insisted on making the drink, even after I clearly said I preferred a refund. She told me she would process my refund. Two days later the charge went through. The interaction felt confusing and poorly handled. I completed their survey, submitted a comment via their website, and sent them a Yelp message. None which were responded to.

Not bad, but I prefer the lighter yeasty style donuts than the denser, sugar laden ones. As a local donut shop, it's good. The quality is there, but the donuts are not my style. Bother were fantastic! The raspberry coffee drinks had a nice unique flavor. The staff were super friendly, and the place has a cozy, welcoming vibe. Lots of pastries options too. I got a chocolate chip cookie and it was so good. Service was fast and pleasant. Definitely a great spot to relax and enjoy a coffee and a pastry.
