My experience with nurse Alisha was absolutely awful! She had agreed to give me injections of Vitamins B5 and B7 ... We had total agreement over the phone , I've answered all of her questions ( she had plenty... ) She Said it would cost me $150 dollars per session ... When I came for the first shots - she put me in the room and went to a different room to fill up a syringes for some reason ... made me very uncomfortable not knowing what was in it ... after the injections she was even hesitant to put a bandaid on ( I had to ask for it ?!? Then when I asked - how much I was charged for - the receptionist said : $200.00 ... I've asked her " why "? She said : for the first consultation ...? Nurse Alisha had never even mentioned to me in our long conversation on the phone prior to that - that their would be $ 50 dollar charge for the consultation ?!? I never needed the consultation ,I've answered all of her questions at that conversation already ! All I needed - was injections ! When I've protested , and told them - it was dishonest- they took $50 dollars off . But next time - Alisha again went to a different room to fill up the syringes... at that point , I thought, I don't even know what she's injecting me with ... that was my last visit ! I'm glad I'm out of there !!! Today , I've purchased my own medication- and paying nurse who comes to my house - $15 dollars for the same two injections! Context: I've been going to ReAlign on and off for 20 years as a walk-in patient. I WAS one of the longest customers of this business until today. Today, the new receptionist didn't recognize me, spoke to me rudely as if I didn't belong there, and generally made me feel like my business was unwelcome. No, "Hey can I help you?" "Hey, do you have an appointment?" "Hey, I'm new here, are you a current patient?" Instead, he looked at me, rolled his eyes, and flatly said "...and your name is....?" looking at me like I'm stupid. Every word out of his mouth dripped with "why are you wasting my time?" I booked an appointment for later in the day, left, but felt so disrespected and condescended to that I came back in, canceled my appointment, and decided to no longer give ReAlign my business. Nah, I don't get massages or adjustments at places where I feel talked down to. I'm a full-grown man. If you treat me like I'm not welcome, you get $0 from me ever again, period. From bodybuilding and crazy workouts I have gotten recurrent Low back pain since high school, and have had an ongoing shoulder impingement/frozen shoulder for the last 7 years. Re-what? Re-Align, you say? How about RE-ASSESS and RE-TRAIN for listening skills. I told these blockheads that I wanted specific attention to my shoulder for rehab therapy from bursitis and frayed rotator. "Oh," said his staff at the front desk: "Dr. Georgiou has expertise with shoulders. You need to fill out these forms." The forms asked me to describe my pain and why I wanted to be seen. My answer: "intermittent, unpredictable shooting, sharp pain from bursitis and frayed rotator. I want to explore therapy to avoid these attacks." Then the form asked me to describe back pain. I wrote "n/a; my back feels fine." I gave them back the clipboard, and they brought me into a room, to watch a movie all about the wonders of chiropractic. Great - can I just see the doctor? A person in a uniform walked into the room and said: you didn't fill out the forms all the way. I said: "my back feels fine. I'm here for my shoulder. You said Dr. Georgiou has shoulder expertise." She said: 'You have to fill out the forms. Here...I'll cross out 'back' and write 'shoulder." Now fill it out for your shoulder." "But I already said all I need to say on a different form: "intermittent, unpredictable shooting, sharp pain from bursitis and frayed rotator." She looked at me and walked away, leaving the forms. I put my sportcoat back on, and brought the clipboard back to her at the front desk. "All I wanted was to ask Dr. Georgiou some questions about my shoulder. I found ReAlign & Dr Georgiou through my fiance who has been visiting the office for some time. Having been raised in a 'take two of these and you'll feel fine household', it was difficult accepting this more eastern way of treatment. I came in with moderate and constant neck and low back pain. Dr Georgiou was thorough in assessing my condition and went to work. After a few weeks of treatment, things were markedly better. I am feeling great and just come in for periodic maintenance visits. What additionally kept me coming to the office is the nice healing energy that was there. The assistants are all very helpful and the office is fairly well designed. Being near the Red Line is super convenient and the occasional change in my schedule is easily accommodated by the staff. I would recommend chiropractic and Dr. Georgiou. read more

I started going to ReAlign nearly a year ago after being recommended to do so by one of my acting students at DePaul. I teach movement and yoga and was having pain that was becoming debilitating. Nearly a year later -- I can honestly say that Dr. G, Dr. Jen, Isabelle, Margaret, Matt, and Natasha (everyone there!) have kept me alive and sane in addition to improving my overall health. I move more easily and better than I have in a very long time. The massage therapists, Matt and Natasha, are exceptional. I have lived in Chicago for almost 4 years now, and for 3.5 of them I refused to look for a new chiropractor (I have been seeing my chiropractor for about 15 years now). This meant that I would return to my chiropractor in Michigan when I could for treatment (who can blame me for being kind of scared-- choosing who cares for and adjusts your spine is kind of a big deal). A couple months ago, my lower back pain was so great I couldn't sleep at night or sit comfortably in a chair for more than 5 minutes. As a graduate student, though, I was not able to fit in a 3.5 hr trip to Michigan just to get treatment during a busy semester! I was miserable, and finally caved to searching for a local chiropractor. Dr. G. was able to fit me in the same day I called and I have been grateful to start treatment here ever since! I personally really enjoy the fact that at ReAlign they first evaluate you to see what they are working with before starting treatment, and then throughout treatment conduct re-exams. As a behavior analyst, I consider this ideal! Overall, I love this place and am happy to claim this as my new home for chiropractic treatment. All the staff are very friendly, and Dr. G. definitely makes it clear that he cares about my treatment and progress. I sit at a desk about 12 hours a day and used to have horrible posture. When I first came in, I couldn't turn my head, my neck hurt so bad. Dr. Georgiou and staff immediately put me at ease. Not only are they friendly, but they're very knowledgeable and I felt I was going to get the treatment I needed. Within a couple of days, I could turn my head, and within a month, I was pain free! I still go in for regular adjustments and those, along with the exercises they gave me to do at home, have kept me pain free and vastly improved my posture. People notice! I also had a bit of TMJ, which has almost disappeared because my neck and jaw are now more in alignment. Bit of aggressive treatments, and expensive. I needed minor adjustments and massage, Dr. G wanted to put me on 4x/week treatment.

Do not waste your time at this place. I went in needing an adjustment and had previous notes from my chiropractor describing my issues and the adjustments I normally receive. ReAlign was running a special if you paid $50 it covered an examination and report of findings (a total of 2 visits). On my second visit Dr. Georgiou came up with an extensive treatment plan that required 4 visits a week for two months. After going over the plan he stated that he would do an adjustment and then I went through the other things on this plan such as therapy, icing, and stretching. I chose not to go through with the plan due to the fact it was almost $3,000 and I did not need all the suggested "therapy". Fast forward to a month later they call me stating I owe them money for those services. I was NEVER told in the second appointment I would be charged for the adjustment otherwise I would have never agreed to have it done. I have attached the bill so you can see the ludicrous things they charged me for including "cold pack therapy" ie getting an ice pack. I would seriously advise anyone considering going here to reconsider unless you want to be scammed into some long term contract. read more

This is a reposting of a previous review that for some reason Yelp stupidly categorizes as not legitimate. However, I think it's vitally important to get this kind of information out when you have a great experience, so I'll keep reposting it until it sticks. Full disclosure, I'm a journalist and do medical research, so I am impossible to BS on this subject. I'm also a disabled military veteran, so I don't suffer fools when it comes to healthcare. I get enough of that at VA hospitals. That being said, I'd recommend ReAlign Chiropractic to everyone. I've had neck and back injuries from military service for over 20 years, and I've seen many doctors, including chiropractors. My wife started seeing Dr. Georgiou in 2005, because he specializes in a medically based, cooperative treatment style that is essential for her. She thinks he's great, and I saw improvements in her immediately. In February 2006, I saw Dr. G because my back condition had gotten severely worse--a massively herniated disc in my lumbar spine that VA doctors said needed spinal fusion. I also had narrowing of the spinal canal and around the nerves coming out of it, as well as thinning of the vertebrae. My left leg was almost completely nonfunctioning because the nerve was compressed and damaged by the disc. My VA doctors said it would take 3 years to recover, and to give up most physical activities. I'm a lifelong athlete and martial arts instructor in my spare time, so that's not acceptable. Once I started seeing Dr. G, even I was impressed by how fantastic a doctor he was. I've dealt with many medical personnel over the years, both personally and professionally. Without question, Dr. G is one of the best informed, capable, and skilled practitioners of ANY medical specialty I've come across. He has a great rapport with patients, and he answered any concerns I had. Believe me, I'm a VERY difficult patient, because I question everything and won't proceed unless I know the treatment is necessary, effective, and what the benefits and risks are. After beginning spinal adjustments, traction, and physical therapy under Dr. G's care, I had a remarkable return of sensation and function to my leg. It wasn't completely better, but when you can't feel anything but numbness and pain from your hip to your toes, a 75 percent improvement within a few weeks is amazing. Dr. G. worked with my VA doctors to maximize my recovery, met with me regularly to review my progress, and helped develop a rehabilitation plan that I still follow. My back as good as it has been in over 20 years, and my leg is almost completely normal. I have returned to most of my physical activities, and MRIs show that my lower back problems are fully recovered (the disc herniation) or greatly improved. None of the nerves are compressed, the narrowing in my spine has reversed, and the spinal bones are stronger. I still see Dr. G regularly to maintain my level of health and activity. When I don't, I notice the difference in how I feel and what I'm able to do. I also injured my neck, aggravating another military injury, and again, ReAlign was instrumental in getting me back to good health. Because the VA dropped the ball with my treatment, basically giving me none whatsoever, my arms and hands were almost completely numb from the injury. Due to regulations, I had to wait on their doctors, even though I knew what was needed. Finally, because I couldn't wait any longer or risk permanent damage, I turned to Dr. G to get spinal decompression treatments to relieve the pressure on the nerves in my neck. Within a month, almost all of the symptoms were better, and I continued to improve with regular care at ReAlign. Dr. G even referred me to his own consulting neurosurgeon to make sure he could treat me effectively, as well as to determine if I needed surgery to permanently correct the problem. It's essential that ANY health professional I see is willing to treat my condition without bias against any legitimate medical philosophy. If they aren't, I'll fire them, because getting the most complete care possible is all I care about. So, I couldn't be more satisfied with the treatment I get from ReAlign. I'm a realist, and I know my spine won't ever be as good as when I was younger. I've put too much wear and tear on my body over the years. But without a doubt, Dr. G and his staff are vital to me maintaining the level of health that I have. In addition, the ReAlign staff has gone above and beyond to get my treatments paid for by the VA. If you've ever dealt with the bureaucratic nightmare that is the VA healthcare system, you'll understand how wonderful it is to have a doctor's office like ReAlign working helping with that. I don't think there's a better chiropractor in the city than ReAlign. If you participate in your own care and stick with it, Dr. G is tops. If you're a veteran who needs a chiropractor, see Dr. G. I ended up at Realign as a last resort, when my doctors said there wasn't anything they could do and I should just put up with the pain and take some pills. My mom warned me that chiropractors were pretty much the devil and that if I wanted to abuse my body like that I was a fool. I am so glad that I didn't listen to anyone. I started going to ReAlign in September, 2010 after experiencing bad neck spasms that made me unable to sit upright for more than a couple hours. After a few months of 2-4 visits per week my neck pain was virtually gone. However, in the first week of January Dr. Jen gave me an awful adjustment that immediately gave me migraines, forcing me to take 2 days off of work. Soon after, my neck spasms came back and I am still unable to turn my head to the right without my cervical joints popping and cracking. Not to mention I still have terrible cronic pain. I see a physical therapist 2-3 times a week at NovaCare, see a Physiatrist at Rush, and do acupuncture from Southport Wellness - yet I still cannot get back to where I was prior to the bad adjustment. They also offered no compensation or apology when I came in, only offering the excuse that "there's 120-something chiropractic techniques and some people don't respond well to each one." However, their staff is very friendly and if you had some issues that weren't neck related or if you were seeing Dr. G, you'd probably be fine. read more

Hate to create an account solely to leave a negative review but I felt it important to do because I found ReAlign through Yelp, and I don't want someone else to make my mistake. Nice office, capable staff, but SNEAKY billing practices. I was told the cost of my treatment would be X amount, what I was told was a nice reduced cash price because my insurance didn't cover the service. As treatment continued, they billed me WAY more than X amount WITHOUT TELLING ME. All of a sudden I owed way more than I had expected. Had a whole back and forth with the office, and even after Dr. Georgiou said he would wipe my balance, he was apparently not telling the truth as he refused the credit card company in getting an extraneous charge refunded. I have been a patient of Dr. Georgiou's for 4 years now. I have severe chronic migraine headaches which require ongoing medication. Dr. Georgiou does neck adjustments which greatly decreases my need for medication. Also, I suffered a ruptured disc in my low back this summer. Dr. Georgiou recognized that this problem was severe and even though chirorpracic medicine strives to avoid surgery, he wanted a surgery consult for my situation because he worried perhaps I needed surgery. Dr. Georgiou sat in his office on the phone for almost an hour tracking down the surgeon he knows until he got me an appointment THE VERY NEXT DAY! That surgeon applauded Dr. Georgiou for referring me and I had very successful surgery. Of course, I still see Dr. Georgiou for adjustments on my lower back and neck once a week and I get a massage with Natalie or Matt (both of whom are very skilled and amazing). My low back, neck and overall stability in life deteriorate when I am not getting regular chiropractic adjustments. First off, I looked at the rating of Realign Chiro and wondered how they had only four stars. Then I read the one-star reviews and almost laughed out-loud. Poor Dr. Georgiou! There's nothing worse than a bitchy queen with a shoulder issue who thinks he's above the procedures and practices of an established clinic. Sometimes, there's no pleasing those who can't be pleased. (I own a restaurant and know this all too well!) My experiences at Dr. Georgiou's have been terrific. He does have a model of how he runs his practice and it's just like any other professional office. You fill out the forms COMPLETELY and you don't decide what your diagnosis is, how the forms should be organized and what treatment you need -- that's why you're at the doctor...it's up to the doctor to diagnose!
