I hired SNAP Home Services to do the front porch. They did a great job and I gave them a little…read moremore money because they repaired something. I asked them if they paint. They said yes. I showed them inside the kitchen and asked for a quote for kitchen cabinets and paint the kitchen and family room. The reason why I hired them was because I can't paint high walls and I can't climb on the ladder too often because of my balance. They gave me quotes which I thought were reasonable. I showed them the colors in the brochure that I would like to get the house painted. Alana told me that the color I picked out was a little lighter (beige). She advised me to pick the darker one and I said fine. I went to pick up the paint at Lowes with a paint chip I picked out last weekend. The painters came the other day to start working on the kitchen cabinets. Tobin sprayed paint in the garage. His wife Alana started painting the trim. Yesterday, Alana started painting the walls in the color I didn't pick out. I kept telling Alana that the color was wrong. She said wait a couple of hours for the wet paint to dry up and kept painting. I was like okay, but for some reason, I didn't feel right. I kept looking at the color (gray) and saying that's the wrong color. Alana looked at me and didn't say anything. I put the paint chip (in my color) on the wall in the wrong color. She saw it! There was a big difference! Then both Tobin and Alana looked at the paint chip and were like ugh. They said they liked the gray color. I told them I don't like the color. My choice, not theirs because I have curtains that don't match gray. They kept on painting and didn't even bother to ask me if I wanted them to continue or stop. They should've stopped or asked me what I would like to do to solve this problem. Tobin looked at the can of paint and said no, it didn't match the paint chip. It was Lowes's fault. I was right all along from the very beginning that the color was wrong. He advised me to go back to Lowes with the paint and get a refund which I did. Last night, I was busy cleaning up the mess they left on the floor and they didn't clean up before they left for the day a little early. I saw some dry paint on the side of the stove and had to take it off with my fingernail. I was busy looking at the trim by the window and asked Alana if she had painted the trim and she said yes. While I was painting, I looked at the trim and noticed it wasn't painted at all. This morning, I went to Home Depot to pick up the right color paint. Came home and painted. The color was exactly what I wanted. The painters arrived. Alana looked up and said that's the color. I said yes, that's what I wanted and kept on painting. I gave them the money and they took off without saying Thank you. I said you're welcome. They turned around and started blaming me for something I didn't do. They said the wrong color wasn't their fault. I said I wasn't blaming them but you should've stopped and asked me what I would like to do. Alana said I didn't show her the paint chip and I said I did show her in front of her eyes. They left me a big mess (damage) in the garage. When Tobin sprayed paint, the paint was on the floor. Even though the floor was covered with plastic, but I guess when they walked, the covers moved. It looked AWFUL! Very careless and sloppy painters! They should have cleaned up before they left. I should have withheld their payment until they repair the damage. They weren't honest about the damage they did. A friend of mine said to me, they should have mentioned that the paint didn't look right, but they just threw it up there and really didn't pay much attention other than getting the job done. What they should have done was to help me solve the paint issue. Lack of communication and customer service were the culprit. So they got one star. The whole point about this is they should have stopped or asked me what I would like to do, not about the wrong color! This is not about Holmes (HGTV) who makes things right. I have some pictures to show evidence if you need to see them.

I began a 21-day Daniel fast on December 30th, 2022, dedicating time to prayer for my son,…read moredaughter, and my three miracles: dental surgery, automobile repairs, and home renovations. I completed the fast on January 19th, 2023. During this time, I created a video showing my house before the hurricane and the home I envisioned renovating it into. Little did I know at the time that home was the Cherokee from America's Home Place. On September 27th, 2024, Hurricane Helene struck. The first tree fell onto a neighbor's property, ripping out our electric box and leaving us without power. Later, the largest tree in our yard fell onto our house, causing extensive damage. Interestingly, a smaller tree along our fence line, which we initially saw as a nuisance, ended up helping by preventing the front room from being completely crushed. The damage was severe, affecting the foundation, and we were told the house would need to be torn down and rebuilt. As we searched for a builder within our limited insurance budget, America's Home Place was the only company willing to work with us. It was then that I realized the home I had envisioned renovating was actually from AHP--the Cherokee model. They have been incredibly supportive, thorough, and compassionate throughout the process. America's Home Place has truly been a blessing in our lives. What the enemy intended for evil, God turned around for our good. Thanks to their dedication, we now have a beautiful new home, and I am grateful for their kindness and professionalism. So, the house I prayed for in 2022 is the house I now live in. God Is Good
