They came out to do a routine service call on a system that they installed 5 years ago. They told me that I needed parts and that my system was no longer under warranty. I was concerned that the system did not send me a notification of the needed repair and I thought my system had a 10 year warranty! It was a very expensive system. Aaron asked me to pay upfront for the part and for two service calls. I did because I trusted them. They didn't come back as promised to make the repair. I called Carrier and was told that I should not have had to pay for the part because it was under warranty and they also noted that they did not get a notification of the failure either as they and I should have. When Aaron finally returned to install the part, he apologized up and down for letting me down. He said that as soon as Carrier reimbursed him for the part he would return my money. He told me a week later that the check had come and he would return the money as soon as it cleared. Well now he doesn't return my texts and his voicemail is always full! It has been several months and I haven't seen my money. I was the first person to review this company when they opened. I believed in them. Now I tell people to find someone else. These guys don't seem to be the honest people that they once were!

Without my AC unit working - I needed a prompt repair (NOT an emergency repair) for tenants renting my condo. I didn't expect a charge of almost $600.00 on a name brand 4 year old unit. I feel I was taken advantage of! They were polite and responsive and got my ac working. However - based on trusted information from another out of town HVAC repair person who was in my condo the week prior to my AC going down, it seems clear to me that I was overcharged and taken advantage of! I was never told payment would need to be made remotely while I was in California. I told the repair guy I would mail a check upon an emailed receipt when I returned home. The problem was a bad capacitor. I was overcharged for the part,... then charged an additional $280.00 to add refrigerant that the technician "questionably" claimed I needed. I have since mailed the a check for full payment, along with their business card that I not need in the future.

He installed a new HVAC compressor and air handler about 4 years ago. I had a problem with it not cooling when I first arrived here. Adam responded and came out to fix the problem. Because it was under warranty, and it was a simple fix, he didn't even charge me. It was working, but still wasn't cooling. He came out again and found a faulty piece in the compressor and didn't even charge me to top off the freon! I tried to pay him something for the freon, but he said that would defeat the purpose of under warranty, even though he had to pay for the freon out of pocket since the HVAC product only covers this problem within a year of purchase for some reason. I recommend Cape Climate and Adam the owner! What a great company!

And after my experience, I have to agree. So far, I don't want to mention the name to of the company that tried to rip me off so badly. However that might change.very soon. At his recommendation I called an electrician. Who then did diagnostics. He only charged $125.00. However he Determined my problem was not electrical. So I called Atlantic Well...who quickly replaced my Well Pump and resolved my problem! So not only did Hancock misdiagnose my problem (charging $315) but then I unnecessarily had to pay an electrician. Atlantic Well's labor to replace the Well Pump was less than Hancock's diagnostic fee. But what really upset me was the estimate Hancock gave me to replace my pressure switch and gage (if I needed one later) was a WHOPPING $730.00!! I've had them replaced before. The parts were $150 and labor $100. $250 TOTAL! It only takes maybe one hour. This company should be ASHAMED at how they rip people off. I honestly can't get over it. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
