I was more than prepared to take him to another hospital was told I did not have that option - they MUST transport him by ambulance. (stupid). Then the bill comes... On at least 3 different occasions we had to call to tell them over and over again that he has double insurance coverage and to run the bill through the secondary insurance. Each time I was told that they were so sorry and would get it taken care of and send a new updated bill. Now we have received a bill from a collection agency for this. Well we had not seen her so what was up. Well the incredibly incompetent driver took her to Birchwood in north Minneapolis about a 32 mile drive. Poor mom bouncing around in that van for over 2 hours while this went on. Once she was delivered back to where she should have been the driver said she was following her directions from the dispatcher on her phone. Now when the van showed up we were waiting outside and the admissions lady said she recognized this driver so it wasn't like she had never been to Birchwood Forest Lake before. Just a little common sense and this woman would have MAYBE figured this out. What a moron. This is the 2nd incident for our mom. In July Allina took her from Mercy Hospital to a facility in Inver Grove Heights (had lived there 1 1/2 years ago) instead of Blaine, where they had picked her up and currently lived. Mind you all of these addresses were updated while in the hospital. So no excuses and no common sense.
