We bought a bunch of material from RCP for our landscaping project. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a nice selection of blocks and other supplies. Some of the blocks are cheaper at other places. Something else to look fop: they acknowledge that their website/brochure has inaccurate pictures. Once you find something you like, make sure it looks like the picture. They allowed us to return extra block. Lead times and delivery were good. I would buy from them again. read more

So you need blocks or brick... which one is it? Well it doesn't matter since Rcp Block & Brick has it all. I have re-done my back and front yard and this is my go to place. It's convenient since they have a multiple location so hauling your own materials is not a problem. If you have no vehicle they can deliver (tip: if you are going to have your materials delivered make sure you maximize the space since the charge is a flat rate. Meaning if it's just a pallet of bricks or six pallets it the same charge). I have done my front yard but the nasty weeds keeps on growing so I decided to change the rocks and I had purchased the weed blocker material here and it comes with a warranty. I am in the process of finishing my project but so far I have hauled three truck loads and it seems to get easier every time I come here. Happy project building to you folks! read more

We are replacing our Cap Stones in the back yard garden wall ( 8 inch ) 20 yrs ago we did not know any better so we let the contractor do what was in the neighbourhood the Cap Stone they put was for a regular 6foot wall not ideal . Although RCP has a limited selection we did go with a smooth decorative cap stone . The employee there are very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable . And helped out with ideas on our project that saved me time and money . It took 3 1/2 weeks to have the new cap stones to be delivered and they look amazing, what was also amazing each stone was foam wrapped for protection agains chipping while transporting. I'd definitely recommend and use them again. read more

I went Lemon Grove store today and parked in a no parking zone cuz it was a 100degrees and my wife was going to stay in truck. I was asked to move and told by junior smart ass that I parked in a no parking zone. After explaining why to him he said to go park in spots in lot that have shade. Good idea by smart A but all the employees had those spots. I went into store and was told to go back to my truck and see a yard boy and he would get my stuff and take my returned pallets and give me a piece of paper to bring to office. They did this but had to ask me 3 times what I wanted. Once I had product, everyone disappeared.(no paperwork) I got back out of my truck and walked back to office and let everyone know my displeasure of their service. They had to ask me what I had in my truck cuz of failed service by 3 junior smart asses. Now keep in mind that the reason I came here was to return some empty rock bags and 2 pallets for a friend.(free money for them) When I was finally done with my purchase and giving their pallets back with no refund to me, I walked out to see a guy parked 5 feet from where I parked when I came in. I asked the difference and got a rude answer that one was painted red. I said" I wasn't asked to move over 5 feet but was told to take my wife and my disabled self over to parking lot!! We had an issue with the gravel we got from our landscaping company, had an interaction with Russ, rudest person we have ever dealt with, did not want to help and just got awkward when we asked a question. I'm not very experienced in purchasing blocks, but when I went into the store to check out the display on the wall and really liked the Otay Brown block. During my visit there was no one there to guide me so I went to the front desk. I've purchase 300 blocks at $4.98 per block and a $150 delivery fee needless to say the total amount was $2516.75 with mortar, pallets and tax fees out the door. Blocks arrived yesterday ( Monday) 3/14/22 and realized that it was a one sided block. ( I was expected 2 sided block) but this was not communicated to me during my visit,otherwise I've would've said the two sided block. So I decided to call and make a change to the order and talked to Joy over the phone, she mentioned that I would have to re-order the right ones and i would get a refund on my old purchase of $2516.75 and could take 7 to 10 days business days depending on my bank. Now the new cost for the right blocks with a new delivery fee out the door is $2,204 with a new delivery fee witch sets me up at $4,720.75 on top of that their taking 25% off my refund for a restocking fee that is around $620 dollars (that I've lost) Today is Tuesday and now we wait again for the new blocks on Friday. All this could've been avoided if communication and service was good Lost time and money here. read more

I went to the Lemon Grove location to order pavers, Class 2 base, sand, DG and cobble for my re-landscape project. When I walked into the sales office there were 2 employees with no one at their counter. They both looked at me like they didn't want to be bothered, the woman employee pointed me to the man's counter. He was not very helpful and seemed very inconvenienced by my questions such as what color do the stones come in? He pointed to the courtyard at the office entry and rattled off which was which. He messed up my order quantity on the Class 2 but that is my fault for not checking closely before signing. I asked for help in quantifying the cobble for my dry creek and he didn't seem to know how to help. He was so unhelpful I just wanted to get out of there. I went to the yard to select my DG color. The men working in the yard were very helpful and polite. I ordered $3500 worth of material. The delivery was smooth and professional. I'm very happy with the product. Their website says "one of our friendly sales staff will be able to answer any questions, help point you in the right direction, and help you with your needs." I did not find the friendly sales staff. Luckily, I come from a construction background and knew a bit before I got there. If I owned or managed this company there would be 2 "friendly sales staff" looking for a new job today. read more

A lot of stuff for the small projects that I can do. Though this place is of course for commercial purposes. Things of my interest that they carry are a variety of bricks. The prices are on the higher side compared to Lowes however my contractor preferred this store for one of the projects he did for me. Shipping rates starts around hundred dollars and goes up. Been to this location many times for my company and will never go back. Twice I've had a bad experience with one of the loaders named CHAD SANTONI or somn like that.I've never been so disrespected. I asked for help and he told me to settle down and wait my turn and there's more important people that spend more money than me. And I could smell the faint alcohol comin from his breath. What an enjoyable, productive and worthwhile experience! After deciding to add some large decorative rocks to our front yard garden area, we drove down to RCP to see what kind of selection they had! Wow! They had several bins of large rocks of different shapes, sizes and colors. Hoping we could purchase just a few individual rocks, we approached Terry, an absolutely comedic and hard-working customer service representative. He cheerfully informed us that we could choose whatever rocks we wanted, from whatever bin we wanted, and that the price list was over in a wooden stand at the end of the bins. We could not believe the incredible prices and were so glad that RCP sold their rocks by the pound. We began our search for the perfect 5 rocks for our garden area. When Terry saw my husband pulling out a large rock from the bin, he called out from across the yard saying he was on his way to help. Over he drove, jumped out and began pulling out the very particular rocks we wanted, which were not always the most accessible. He was making us laugh so much because he always thought rocks were rocks, but the customers always seemed to search for that perfect rock. However, once Terry saw the "look of the perfect rock" for us, he masterfully pulled out four more rocks that matched that very look and were the size we needed! When we told him he made pulling out those heavy rocks from the bin look like he was picking up cotton balls, he comically expressed that he no longer needed a gym membership because of his daily workout at RCP. Terry definitely ranks among the best customer service representatives we have met anywhere--truly an Olympic Gold Medal Customer Service Provider! Then, when we received the bill for the rocks, we were dumbfounded! It was the bargain of the century! Let me start off by saying that person who took my order was great. The individual who delivered my order was great so that is why they got the stars. However the product, which is the important part, that was ordered and delivered was way off. I ordered some decomposed granite from this company, and quite a few yards i may add, but what i received was nothing compared to what the photo shows online. The natural DG photo online was a nice dark brown grainy product. What i got was a very grey fine powder nothing close to the product ordered. In small letters on the website mentions that product may vary but this is not some small color shade difference, it was a different color and texture. The DG was installed by my landscaper so i had to deal with it. I called and they seemed to want to help me with this issue but the discount for ordering more was a joke, a few bucks off each yard of product and i mentioned i was willing to order more. In the end i decided to go with someone else but they need to constantly update what they really offer in photos and not give small disclaimer of a possible difference. read more

I'm giving them two stars strictly because of their high prices and not because of their service. I called and asked for a price on a 5 gallon Glaze n Seal Lacquer concrete sealer. Their price was 349.00 per the person I spoke to on the phone. HD supply had it for 254 and The Hub in national city had it for 250.00 so did every single other place I looked at online. RCP has good customer service but so does the Hub and they are a lot cheaper! I understand prices may vary from store to store but 100 bucks difference is way to much to mark up. I tried to see if they priced match and they very boldly said no! I work in the dealer parts automotive industry so I know a thing or two on list prices, discount prices and markups. When a customer wholesale or retail shops me around and asks if I can price match 10 out of 10 times I say yes. I'm thinking about the long term affect of their business. The way I see it is do I send the customer 3 miles away to a competitor or keep his business on the long run. My uncle who is a contractor told me about the Hub that's how I found it, his exact words where " do not go to RCP they are super expensive" and guess what, when people ask me about where to find construction supply I will be referring them to HD or the Hub in national city not RCP.
