Good place to get Korean food in southern Mississippi. Come from Seattle. I have two different reviews of this place. In Seattle, where everything is already expensive, dishes here are around the same price if not more expensive than Seattle, which threw me off. I was also surprised not to see any tofu soup on the menu or at least I asked the waitress and she said no. But coming from Mississippi standards this was an amazing japchae J that I got, a little bit on the saucy oily side, but that's what made it good. Overall good tasting food, out comeback. read more

TL;DR Tasty Korean food that tastes authentic. Less than standard cabbage kimchi, but lunch is well worth the price. Very tasty food. The woman serving was not incredibly personable, but I don't personnelly mind that, honestly. I'm an introvert and just want to eat in peace. You can see my bulgogi lunch dish with the sides in the picture. The lady refilled my favorite sides, the turnip kimchi, and refilled my rice after I finished mine. I didn't eat any other meal that day and remained sated for the entirety of the day. My only complaint is that the cabbage kimchi had much less flavor than I am used to. I typically leave mine out of the fridge to develop the tangy flavor. Maybe you will like it though. For the lunch price and portion, I would say definitely give it a go. Right outside of the base, you'll find this hidden gem. It is tucked away in the corner of a small shopping center and may not look like much from the outside but when I tell you, it is one of the best restaurants in the area, I am not playing. We came here for dinner and almost every table was taken. Always a good sign! We were promptly seated and able to order right away. I went with Thouk Mandu Guk which is my all-time favorite Korean dumpling soup. It was absolutely delicious! They had so many options on the menu and I honestly wanted to order them all. I think the key would be to bring a big group so more orders could be placed in order to try a little bit of everything. Prices were very fair and the portions were huge. The staff were all very friendly and hopeful in explaining what different items were and giving recommendations. I am so glad I got to eat here and I hope I get to return soon! read more

We were searching for a korean spot in Biloxi and didn't have many choices. We decided to stop in to RC. We arrived at 6 with a table for 10( 6adults and 4 kids from 10-16) The place was empty with no other guesses. The lady that greeted us didn't seem happy or welcoming at all. This continue to be her mood throughout the meal. We ordered a lot of food from Kimbap, Mandu, Galbi, Bulgugi, Ramen, Japchae, and Black bean noodles. The Kimbap was good as it was rolled with bulgogi and vegetables. Honestly that was my favorite. Not a good sign to come. The mandu came out and it was a bit oily and tasted like it came from the frozen pack. The food came out sporadically. The Galbi was sweet and had a chalky feel to them. Seems like whatever they use as seasoning did blend well. The bulgogi was also extremely sweet. The most disappointing dish was the cheese ramen. For 10.95 it seems like they put a package of instant ramen some water no seasoning pack and a slice of cheese. i would of though for the price they would of spruce it up but no it was a package of instant noodles and a slice of cheese. Now i wasn't expecting korean food that i have known and love from cities like Atlanta but this was not close. I don't think i would have been as upset if the lady running the place was happy or didn't look like she didn't want us there. From the time we were there to the time we left there was only one other table that came in. We spent 400 bucks there and regretted it. I hope they can redeem themselves and self evaluate. read more

Drink responsibly. Sometimes it's packed. You make have wait or no seating for large groups. Maybe a big family? You you may have to time it when you go to a table. They definitely to take out. I noticed it tends to calm down after 7:30 P.M when we went. It may vary daily. Seating is table seating and service. No booth seating. The chairs offer little padding. Comfy for while you dine there. We had a little wait but quickly got a table and sat down. It was five minutes? Our server greeted us right away and took our drink order. They only have one server but the service was excellent and she was making it happen. We got Korean hot tea, sweet tea, and ice water. Got the Kim Bop (Korean sushi roll, rice, seaweed, imitation crabmeat, cucumber, carrot, etc) , Yaki Man Doo ( deep fried Korean dumplings with dipping sauce) as appetizers. Main course was Gal-Bee (Korean beef short ribs in sauce pear and seasoning), I was craving that! So worth it! Jap-Che (clear noodles with beef and some vegetables), and Bul Go Gi (sautéed thinly sliced beef marinated in mild or spicy sauce with onions and carrots), also with rice and bonchon (side dishes). Being in southern Mississippi it's hard to think there's quality ethnic fare here but sure enough, good Korean food was found at RC Korean restaurant. The owner was little cranky towards us but understandably so when you come into a restaurant half hour before it closes, so our bad there. Portion sizes are great, very large. I had galbi ribs, offered mild, medium, or spicy. I got the spicy and it had some kick! Not overly spicy to where you can't eat it. The flavor of galbi was different than most I've had. More of a spicy sweet sauce. Boyfriend had japchae noodles, also had a bit of spice and massive portions. Both entrees came with classic Korean side dishes- kimchi, cucumber kimchi, radish and fish cake. We certainly did not leave hungry! The owners and other employees are always welcoming and are pretty quick with getting the order.since this is a mom and pop restaurant, the food sometimes takes a while, but it's well worth the wait! R & C is a must each time and I would encourage anyone to take a visit, whether you're on business, in the military (there is a base close to the restaurant), or just passing by. We usually order spicy jap chae, spicy short ribs, bibimbap, dumplings, and Kim chi soup. I'd have to say that all these items are "must try"s! During the day, they do have lunch specials as well which have pretty good value! One thing for sure, the food comes with a bunch of sides like other Korean restaurants, and their kim chi is so amazing that I'm always asking for more (and it's free)! The difference between this restaurant and other Korean restaurants is that they serve most of the meat cooked instead of having to cook it yourself. The only downside is they know how good they are so they don't really care as much to answer the phone all the time or remember your name even if you've been eating there 3 days a week for 20 years straight. Well their was a guy in there but he was sitting at a table chatting and after a few mins decided to bring a menu to the table (didn't know he was working there didn't greet us or anything) but afterwards a lady emerges dropping off food and comes right over to take our order. I understand her frustration if you are literally the only person between the door and the kitchen doing anything but the experience got brighter. I had a taste for Ramen thus YELP led me to this venue. I enjoyed the food and the cook even came out to greet us overall it ended up being a wonderful experience! This is one of the few Korean restaurants in Biloxi. I don't come here because it's the only option. I come here because the food quality is really excellent. Can't go wrong with their japchae and galbi (Korean short Ribs). I actually miss this place when I'm out of town. Their black bean noodle is really good, but I would recommend sharing this dish with a friend or two. It gets overwhelming for one person, but if you're super passionate about black bean noodles, go for it for yourself. Seafood pancake is abundant with seafood and their sauce with it is superb. The new clay pot they have for the bi bim bap didn't make a crust for the rice so it wasn't as crispy as I expected but still good. Black bean noodles were actually not bad. I thought it would be super sweet and overly thick but it was actually more like a gravy sauce. It was good. Everything else was delicious as always. I'm really glad they changed their curtains to the black out curtains. It used to be a little warm in there every time I came in but it was a little cooler this time.
