After hearing the issue she said it's probably a capacitor that costs about 32 bucks at Ace Hardware but if we come put it on there'd be a $450 charge. So I Googled and You Tubed...how do you fix a capacitor on a Trane A/C? After watching a couple...I went to Ace and bought a new capacitor...yanked the old one off and put the new one on...with a little bit of Jerry-rigging as it was skinnier than the old one and didn't fit the bracket...and voila! Thankfully I found Joe. He was knowledgeable, funny, a great guy and didn't try to upsell a thing. He replaced my water heater at a great price. While he was here my sewer was backing up when he tried to drain the water heater. He asked that we get it cleared before he finished the job. We called Homeservice plumbers and they came out, said there was a block and they would have to tear up the basement and the starting price was almost 7k. More if they found other problems and they repeatedly tried to use, used car sales tactics and scare tactics to get me to replace Joe as my plumber and destroy the basement to clear a "block".
