I went to Randolph Brooks today to complete a very large wire transaction. I drove all the way from Georgetown to RoundRock because I have complete confidence in Brian, the manager in RoundRock. I knew that if Brian was helping me, I did not have to worry about anything going awry, and I was absolutely correct! Brian multitasked and managed the branch, as well as took the time to supervise the wire transaction to make sure that we were completely taken care of. I will never bank anywhere else. Unprofessional crew working here, banking manager tells you one thing and teller tells you something completely different. Couldn't even put funds in my account, the teller told me to go to the bank the check was written then come back. needless To say I went and opened an account with first Texas bank that she sent me to. My bad for going to a bank thinking I would talk to an actual banker? Went to open a business checking account. Called this morning and asked what I needed, get told I just need my id, social security card and to go in person. I then go to this location and they sit me in front of a tv screen and I wait for 20 minutes to talk to a banker who is in San Antonio, call lasted about 5 minutes to tell me I don't have everything I need and to call back once I have it. I'm ashamed because I use this bank for my personal auto loan. Would recommend using another bank if you want to speak face to face to an actual banker. read more

Had an appointment to meet with my private buyer who wanted to finance my car through his bank here at RBFCU. According to the buyer, he was already pre-approved over the phone for the full price we agreed upon. The actual employees at this bank were only useful as far as faxing the appropriate paperwork, but everything else was handled via videoconference. I was under the assumption that this whole process wouldn't take that long from what I was told, but that wasn't the case. We hit a lot of snafus along the way where the bank had trouble appraising my car and ultimately, my clear title resulting in a lower price than what was originally approved. The loan officer solely relied on a version of the Kelley Blue Book system, but my limited edition vehicle's specs were unlisted so they had to downgrade and use an inferior model for the appraisal value. This was unacceptable and my husband and I were prepared to walk out as there seemed to be no way around this. Somehow, they found a way to increase the appraisal, but were still short $500 which the buyer managed a way to finance and/or come out of pocket for the full price by factoring in the TT&L and other associated costs. Three hours later, I walked out with a cashier's check for the full amount and a notarized bill of sale. All in all, this was a learning experience for everyone involved. Just would've liked if this whole situation could've been handled a lot better. read more

Banked with RBFCU for several years with a multitude of small, inconvenient, but not critical issues, until recently. My account was hacked and when I presented the issue to them, they stated they would prevent further withdrawals and work to reimburse me for the fraud. Two days later, a further four fraudulent transactions went through. I had to bring these further fraudulent actions to their attention. They reimbursed me, then pulled the reimbursement. Then gave it back. Then pulled it again. They sent a different debit card. I suggested opening a different account to prevent further fraud. They sent a second card. I waited for 9 days for the card to arrive with no access beside a drive to their nearest branch. Further, my fiancee attempted to deposit a check, in my name, into my account as a gift. They locked me out of mobile banking permanently because their algorithm flagged it as unusual. She cancelled the check after that, and I switched to a different institution. I have been without access to my money for nearly 2 weeks because of their ineptitude and carelessness. Bank anywhere else. Save yourself the headache. read more

I have been with RBFCU ever since the University Ave. branch opened. I used to love it! However, it is no longer the same. The friendly guard who greeted me with a smile is gone, and so are the friendly tellers who recognized me because I was in the bank often, frequently every week. Now, the tellers are no longer friendly, and each time change what documentation they want to handle a simple deposit. I have spoken to customer service by phone a few times but it has been most unpleasant. I am older and it feels like the place is run by young millennials. I don't tolerate lack of listening skills..... interrupting me and talking over me. At this business, the customer is always wrong. Unacceptable. read more

I switched my accounts to RBFCU from another bank thinking I would have a better experience than with other banks/credit unions. I found out they the same or worse than my previous bank. They take a very hard line on NSF for automatic payments that come out a day or two early. My previous bank gave leniency if the pending transaction was only one day early. Also, as a courtesy they might reverse half the NSF. Not RBFCU. When you chose a bank just keep in mind you most likely will not be improving your situation with checking and savings accounts rules. Maybe online banks are better. Will have to look into that. read more

Went to open a business account with them because I liked the look of their products. It was 4:45 (they close at 5) - I should've arrived 4:30 but traffic was horrible around Ikea. I started second-guessing this decision. A security officer let me in. To open account, you sit in a room and they get a video call going to their head office in SA. I don't have a problem with this per se, but you are forever putting items into the scanner and fetching off papers from a printer. In the end, I had to a abandon my plan because RBFCU wants more documents for your business than legally required by Texas. They said I could go away and download bylaw templates then return another day to finish up, but I just left and opened an account with UFCU on the way home that doesn't require by-laws, has real people in branch, stay open til 6, and aren't at the nightmare area of 35 and University. read more

RBFCU Is not what it used to be . I myself took a moment to read most review in the past and disagree and today i recant m'y statement. Customer services is horrible and their staff acts as if it is a favor for them to help someone. They put me in a really difficult situation and Thank God there was a way to counterfeit it but seriously very horrible services. Their staff needs to be trained more. People don't realize that we all have bills and there is that one day where it just catches up to you due to a situation. I regret my entire time and monies going into their branch. Though there is a way for everything, and my advise for you is do not join if you care about how you are treated especially during hard times. We are all human and surely it catches up. I have banked with them about 5 years. Had two loans and just refinanced my car, (bad Idea) I paid on time, for my loans, Lost job, right after I refinanced my car. Asked for and extension, on both the loan and the car. Mind you EVERY single other bank and credit card I own, gave me some time to catch up, because I pay on time. NOT RBFCU. They want MORE money, to Grant me more time? WHO DOES THAT? If I am begging for help, specially after paying on time for 3 years, there is a legit reason. But NOPE, still, pay money and MAYBE we will grant you and extension, as they are only allowed ONE per year. CRAP. Then They wont help me with the Car, because the LOAN is too new. I love having my bank closeby...just not this one. The wait to get anything done is far too long to overcome the convenience provided. Today I stopped by to finalize an auto loan...a process that took about 5 minutes the last time we financed a car here. Instead of interacting with a live person, I was put in front of a computer screen on hold for 20 minutes waiting for the "loan specialist" on the other end. If I could do this over the phone, why did they send me an email telling me I needed to stop by? Thanks for wasting my time. The attempt to push credit life insurance on me was the icing on the cake. No one smarter than a rock has wasted money on that scam in years. NOT the friendly credit union it once was. read more

Worst bank ever. Went in to open a business account and didn't realize my DBA used for my real estate business had expired. I also have a business which I established 4 years ago and I informed the CSR of that business and she tried to do a name search and acted as if she could not find it. One I showed her on my phone that it was in fact on the Travis county's website she disconnected the video call. I called in to the business support department and spoke with a Ashley and explain what had happened. Ashley did go on to Travis county's website and found the DBA. I was told by Ashley I had 2 options I could walk in to a branch and open the account or send the documents by email. I let her know that I would walk into the branch. I then asked her if she could help me locate a branch near me and she did. Ashley told me once I get to the bank, let them know that Ashley from support has the DBA and to give her a call. I went in the branch checked in and went back to speak with another rep. I let her know that Ashley from support has my DBA document and if she could contact her. The CSR contacted Ashley and she sent a message back that she did not have time and that she was going into a meeting with her manager. The CSR did a name search and acted as if she could not find the business. I let her know that this was just a sign that this was not a good bank for me. We can all say we appreciate banks for following the protocol for opening up a business account but the level of professionalism is horrible. I'm now wondering was the 2nd CSR that I spoke with assigned to me because we are both African Americans and they didn't won't it to seem racist when In fact it was and I was treating like I was some type of criminal. Maybe leaving my bank was not a good idea after all. I Was only leaving them because of the high monthly fee for my accounts, but after this I will stay and pay that fee. I love the benefits of RBFCU. I really miss the RBFCU in Cedar Park. This one is the only one near me since I have moved and I hate it. I normally spend 20-45 minutes in the drive through.
