I love visiting Amplify at the Esperanza branch. It's so nice and clean with coffee and restrooms while you wait. The staff is friendly and professional. I've always enjoyed banking here. The tellers and staff are always friendly and helpful. I often go just to use their notary services. Wait times are generally pretty low and it's not trafficked a ton. My ONLY issue is that they make me take my baseball cap off. I get it, they want to see faces for the cameras, but really? Their website is a little behind the times, but it is functional and if you ever have any trouble you can call or reach out to a branch and someone can help you. It took me a few tries but mobile deposits and loan repayments are also straight forward and work well. Amplify has very kind customer service however the online user interface is extremely confusing for users and its employees. I have yet to make a payment towards principal, escrow or interest ONLY and the payment be posted correctly. Unlike most mortgage lenders, the only drop down available for any payment is "regular payment" and you have to put in the memo what the payment is for. If a drop down for principal, escrow or interet is not going to be offered, there needs to be quality control on Amplify's end to ensure payments are posted correctly. As a user, it is extremely frustrating an unneccessary for us to have to continue to call and have things fixed that are out of our control. I have given this feedback countless times and I know we are not the only people that struggle with this. Amplify, please take action and make your customer/employees lives easier and more efficient. I was shopping around for car insurance and of course I'm a normal person so I don't know all the rules. I figured if I dropped my current insurance I had at least a 30 day grace period but amplify decided to purchase insurance for me and not tell me until I was $750 in debt with it in less than 30 days.. extremely ridiculous pricing. $750 is more than a six month policy, but they charge me that for less than a month come to find out they can legally do that so they took full advantage of the law.. apparently nobody there shops around for a good rate for you to make their customers happy. Definitely deserves a slamming one star for that. Update I am going to change it from one stars to two because they did get back to me and they were correct. It was slightly over 30 days that I did not hold insurance to be specific. It was 34 days. However, I am still dissatisfied that it was 700 and something dollars and the notice I was given was very sudden if at all. From what I recollect, the only notice I got was that I was going to be charged for not having insurance and then surprise that is 700 and something dollars. And the real crappy part is that you're paying for insurance for days that are already in the past so there's literally zero risk for the insurer and they just get to collect all that money. To put it into perspective, I had two cars on that insurance that was canceled, but one of the cars was financed through a different finance company. One was financed through amplify. However, the other finance company did not charge me in that same time. Even a dollar and they are a larger Finance company for automobiles. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Amplify has an interesting payment posting practice that seems to goes against Truth In Lending Act. If you make a payment their system "processes" before the grace period, Amplify will still count it as being late if their ACH record with the money isn't received before said grace period. I think this is a violation according to the following: Mortgage servicers may face liability under Truth in Lending Act (TILA) if they fail to credit consumer accounts once an electronic authorization for a mortgage payment is entered. The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Fridman v. NYCB Mortgage Co. LLC, Appeal No. 14-2220, reversed a grant of summary judgment in favor of a mortgagor servicer and allowed a purported class action to continue alleging that the servicer improperly charged late fees related to some electronic payments. This ruling appears consistent with the position taken by The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) which requires mortgage servicers to credit electronic authorizations the day they are made and not the day the electronic payment is processed or received by the servicer. Amplify gave me a commercial loan on my property about 5 or 6 years ago. The interest rate was 6.5% because my credit and balance sheet was not stellar. Now years later my overall balance sheet and credit has improved significantly, and they increased the interest rate to 10% noting lower occupancy concerns. (Income is roughly the same, mind you.) No negotiating the terms or discussion at all. Plain to see with the banks failing and looking for cash that Amplify has decided to fundraise at the expense of their customers. That being the case, I will be looking to refinance elsewhere and move my account! read more

We have had Accounts at this Credit Union for over 20 years. Only one other time I've had an issue here. And I was probably about 10 years ago and it's an issue that will affect us for the rest of our lives because it was an IRA that should have been a Roth but was entered as a regular IRA. Fast forward about 10 years another had a trio of problems in one year. On the 3rd I'm writing this post. 1. For a $4000 check deposited, a zero was left off. Fortunately i caught it before leaving the counter. A concern I have is there are no longer deposit slips with listings of checks and the addition that goes along with it. There is lots of room for error without a way to double check unless you're making copies of the checks. 2. I was traveling to India and went to amplify to make sure that my debit card would work. They said it was taken care of. However when I got to India it did not work anywhere. Fortunately I brought another credit card but I also had notified I would be traveling to India. Fortunately it worked. 3. Just last week I went back to the bank to the drive through this time as I was in a rush.. This time to deposit checks for my two sons. They have separate accounts under their individual names. I also requested a balance. I was told no problem by Anthony. The receipt I got for these two transactions did not include the balance it has appeared the two deposits were made into the same account. I cannot discern any difference in account numbers or transactions. So the tube went back with the receipt I have been given. I got back to individual receipts with different account numbers that checked out but no balance. Then I was told I needed to send my ID, my driver's license. I did and receive the balances and drove off. A week later I have this I don't have my driver's license and I think back in my head where have I been. I called the credit union and sure enough they had my driver's license. So back to the bank I go to retrieve it. This cost me about an hour and a half of my day in terms of Transportation and then waiting for about a half hour before anyone could see me. I spoke to the lady who's helping me and told her I of my problems. She said the branch manager would be calling. So I wait for her call but in the meantime I am going to talk to my husband about closing our accounts here after 20 plus years of doing business read more

I m leaving this review here because the branch that I initially open an account is not there anymore, but I m very very disappointed with this institution! This bank and the people that I have worked with are just plain rude. This bank is holding a payment which is the last payment after a ten years loan. Because of them holding the payment and refusing to apply to the loan has caused my credit score go from 750 to 600. They are holding the payment because they claim that I did not pay all the principal or late payment charges on the loan, so I m having to pay an additional 10 grand. I do not know what business out there that does not charge you late fees immediately after being late. I would not recommend this bank to know one period and I talk about them every chance I get! They have made my life miserable!! read more

go to any other bank. that don't want your business. they dont want to help you. they could have easily made a good faith gesture which would have benefitted both me and them. I had a rough patch and my automatic payments got shut off and I was late making payments. yes, I accept that it is my fault, but if it's your bank they are there to help, I made the payments and have made sure I never missed another one. but when it came time to actually show a little customer service and and help with my credit score, they were unwilling to take those off, lower my borrowing power and overall hurting us both financially. you want a bank that will take an extra step for you. amplify will not. go anywhere else. read more

UPDATE: Amplify was very quick to contact me to resolve my concerns. They reached out to me almost immediately after I posted my initial review. I am pleased to announce that I have now been provided with definitive information about the signing process. The AVP of Retail (who is very pleasant) even coordinated with this branch a time for us to come in to complete this process on a Saturday. Although Amplify still has some work to do to improve their customer service (i.e., making sure employees provide consistent advice and information), I greatly appreciate the efforts taken to remedy the situation. Domain is seriously the farthest south you can find a branch OR an ATM? The app is also a disaster technologically, and they have very limited phone support. Branch staff is often combative (though many are quite kind). Amplify is not established well enough for most people to conveniently manage their finances. read more

If I could give it negative stars I would. I availed a 84 month Auto loan in January and paid off the loan by July. The last payment of 16 odd dollars got dropped due to a glitch in wells-fargo's bill-pay system so though the payment was rightly scheduled it couldn't make it. These reckless folks at Amplify called me after the payment was 30 day past due and made sure to report it to the credit agencies and caused by perfect credit score to drop 100 points. When I tried to explain the situation they did not give a hoot. Stay away from Amplify who ruined my perfect score for a 0.1 % of the total balance due. Again I would be the first to admit if I had not scheduled the payment, I should not be penalized for a on-line bill pay glitch read more

Recently made the switch from one of the big banks to Amplify and it has been great. I was able to get a better rate on my savings account which was cool because my old bank had a horrible rate and a bunch of fees. I handle most things via the mobile app but when I do stop in to this branch they are always super friendly and helpful. My only compliant is that I wish they had a location further south but other than that I have nothing but positive things to say. read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED in the branch. Our card got lost and we ordered a new one to come and pick up. Got in the drive thru line at 5:45 and when I got to the window they SHREDDED my card. They don't take into account people working. They had my number on file and didn't even tell me this could happen Let's not mention that there are only 2 branches where you can conduct business. After being a member for 27 years we are DONE. We suffered a large loss that was covered by our homeowner's insurance. As the holder of a home improvement loan Amplify had to endorse the claim checks from our insurance carrier. I called in advance to see how to handle this and was told to simply bring in the check. I did and was told to go home (hour round trip) to get copies of the adjuster report and bids. I convinced the branch representative to let me email them as they were all electronic. They then told me they would put a 30 day hold on the check. I pointed out that this exceeded the limits allowed by banking law. I also told them that this was the first of two large checks I would need to get the property repaired and that I would need additional endorsements. This week I got a revised adjuster report. I sent it and all of the bids/contracts electronically along with an email from the insurance company stating the amount of the second check. I was told that I would need to email a copy of the check and wait until the mortgage department had reviewed the documents before presenting the check for deposit. Livid, I demanded to speak with a policymaker in the mortgage department. This department had not received any of the material that I had sent today and the person who was acting as the intermediary had no authority to act as a go between. They simply sent what I emailed via internal mail to the mortgage department adding another layer of bureaucracy. It is especially galling that the loan balance was smaller than the first check and will be less than half of the final settlement. I have a much larger stake in the property than AMPLIFY ever have and thus a much larger incentive to make it whole. They do a very poor job of communicating policy within the organization and with the customer. read more
