Not sure why this branch has such a low rating. I came in during the early afternoon with multiple bonds to cash in and the teller, Lucy did a great job working with me as quickly as possible. If your a small business owner do not open a bank account with this institution. Chris the bank manger and Shane who opened our account vouched to subscribe to a merchant service. We utilized this service and now our funds on hold for 120 days with no solutions. The amount of the two transactions were 9k, with no solutions or options we are left with I am sorry's and no support from JPMorgan. If would recommend to find a different bank! There is absolutely no reason why Chase has chosen to withhold our funds. JP Morgan does not hold its subsidiary's to the same standards. As a small business owner who strives to run a legit business license and insured this is unacceptable. Opened a couple of accounts with Daniel at the Downtown branch. I had a few complicated questions and he was equipped to answer them or at least put in the legwork to figure out the correct answers. Everything worked out great, and he gave me his personal information to follow up if there were any issues in the future. Sad to hear he's moving to a different branch but he seems to be a great banker, so happy to hear he's getting promoted. The vibe at this branch is so much better than East 7th, I'll be coming here more often I think. read more

trying to make a simple foreign currency ezchange. provided photo of ID and logged into chase account in front of manager. he says that since he doesnt recognize me that he cant take that. it is $140. i am exchanging cash for cash. not withdrawing anything. if he recognizes me then he can do it but he wont even with my credentials. i am private client to boot! terrible customer service. read more

Hi I have been banking with Chase Bank for over 15 years , Yesterday Monday the 7th I went for a small need it was a notary for one document as I arrive there was two people in the bank and they were not customers. I first walked in a young lady asked how could she help me vary nice I ask can I get a notary she proceeds to tell me that she could not help me with that and she goes into another office where a gentleman was sitting in the office now literally no one was in the bank but three people it was Me and two employed there and it was about two in the afternoon at this time she's in the little office for about I would say 10 minutes talking to the gentleman about my notary services. He proceeds to come out and tells me that I can not get a notary at this time and I can go anywhere in town and that he could not notarize my document because he had a following appointment and after all this is taken about 15 minutes of my time at this point, So I said sir I have been with chase bank for many years I have a savings account a business account and a personal account and the document will only take 5 to 10 minutes for notary now let me remind you there is no one in the bank at this time but me and two employees never asked me for my account information never asked for an ID nothing he just proceeds to tell me at this time I have other appointments and he cannot facilitate me in a notary now by this time I'm sitting there for 20 minutes there is no one in the building. I am infuriated because when you are a small business owner you don't have a lot of time this is the holidays yes I am venting because I'm very upset about this very situation and so sick of the attitude that customers are not important I'm so infuriated I may change my bank and go somewhere else where they value me as a customer I give this bank in -5 and gentlemen that has somewhere to go and he could not do a notary for me he sucks!! read more

recently I made an appointment and visited the chase down town austin branch (5th street). There is NO customer service...i do not think any one is trained as how to give customer service. Many employees but no one took time to see if I needed help. Waited there for 20 minutes before some one get me the person I had appoiment with...try with mask and standing there but no help !! read more

Well, this review is partly about the branch, but mostly about Chase Corp in general... and why you should strongly consider going with another bank, or a local bank. The employees at the branch were nice enough, the review has much more to do with the protocol and overall capabilities of the corporation. There are two things I detest about Chase. 1) Even when payroll is received by my coworkers on the 30th, I won't get mine till the 4th or 5th of the next month via direct deposit. Is Chase floating off of my paycheck for 5 days? Likely so since if they do this with thousands of people, it could equal vast sums of additional lending revenue, without accruing interest payable. 2) I work in finance, and work with dozens of banks. I was optioning a piece of land outside of Austin, and needed to send a wire. I went into the branch at 4:50 pm Friday... after the wire cut off time (it would go out Tuesday), and sent the money. 15 minutes later I got word to cancel the wire. After speaking with 3 different people who said it couldn't be cancelled till the following Tuesday (Monday being a holiday), I found a branch who said they could cancel it locally; I rushed down to the branch before closing, who then said they couldn't after talking to a few more people. I spent Saturday speaking with reps at the bank locally and online, who said they couldn't do it till Tuesday since it had to be manual, but if I call the downtown branch at 9am, they'd stop it manually. So I did, and when I did, they said it was already sent and they couldn't take it back. For a huge bank with billions of dollars and with banking systems worth significant sums of money, and a staff the size of some countries, I would think 4 days notice would be enough to stop a wire. I work with dozens of local and smaller banks who are able to do this; even on a weekend. But with Chase I spoke with them before closing Friday, as well as the weekend, and on the following weekday before they said the wire would go out. I was reminded of a Kafka novel the entire time. To summarize, if you want customer service and a bank that isn't too big to do a simple task without dealing with multiple employees consisting of dozens of reps across 5 time zones, then go to a local branch who can just enter a stop payment in the banking system and be done in a few minutes. My savings and checking is being moved as I type this. read more

Why am I writing a review about a bank? I wanted to express my gratitude to Jared who was my loan officer when I refinanced my mortgage. I had a nightmare experience when I originally purchased my home but Jared and the Chase team couldn't have been more of a joy to work with. They were able to keep me updated with weekly status calls and made sure the entire process went as smooth as possible. Even when I thought my closing date was going to be pushed back (which is the norm), the loan processer was able to quickly resolve the issue and I still closed on my expected closing date. In comparison when I opened up my 1st mortgage with HSBC, the closing date was pushed back 4 times and I could not get a hold of my loan officer for any updates or feedback. Since I already bank with Chase, I also get 1% rebate for enrolling in autodraft. Jared and the folks at Chase have my full endorsement for anyone that needs a home loan! read more

This is probably my favourite Chase Bank location to visit! The staff are friendly, pleasant and efficient! And they actually take security measures properly. I feel that the other locations don't have a good set-up and security measures are not as tight. Remember to park in the chase tower parking structure and get your ticket validated. read more

Pros: It's in downtown, a convenient location to working class clients. This branch physically looked clean, nice, spacey with classy design. Cons: Most of the clerks are younger people, who appeared pretty enthusiastic at first about their NEW clients but losing patience and professionalism when encountering problems. After you handed them your money, and started asking them more questions, they tend to avoid you/your emails or play catch 22. I wonder, how did they get the training? I wouldn't want to know the service quality of their managers. Office hours are not flexible at all. When working class go to work, it is open; when we get off from work, it is closed too. Hello!!! Some banks open a little later till 6 PM to accommodate their clients. So obviously this BIG FANCY bank doesn't care! All they care about is the $$$ in your account where they can use to make their own money! But they forgot, the money is mine! I can withdraw and transfer to another bank that treats me better with professionalism. Management seems to be a HUGE problem for big organizations and companies in service industry. The hardest part is to keep what you have gotten. Remember, in this cyber digital world, many people can learn about pretty much anything at the tips of their fingers without physically going outdoor, including the new reputation of certain companies. read more

I work in the Chase Tower and have gotten change from the tellers at the Chase Bank on the first floor probably a dozen or more times in the last few years. I recently wanted to get change for a $20. The teller asked me to swipe a debit card to verify that I'm a customer of the bank. What? She said that the bank has a new policy and can no longer provide change to people who are not customers of the bank. I ended up going to the Horizon Bank at 6th and Congress for change. It you like really bad customer service, this may be your bank, but I highly recommend you look anywhere else before using Chase. read more

This branch allowed a fraudster to withdraw $2000 from my girlfriends account with a fake ID. Now they have denied her claim to return the money because when she filled out the paperwork she didn't mention the fake ID. We didn't know about the fake ID, you told us about it! How does that make sense? Bad form. read more

Terrible experience trying to get a mortgage. This bank mortgage department works with the mortgage department of the Chase on South Congress, where I initiated a mortgage loan process. Tons of paperwork, poor communication, and now I will miss my closing date because they can't finish their part of the process. Nightmare!! read more
