Update: new owners have officially ruined it. First mistake: jack up prices for worse food and same drinks Mistake #2: have an outside bar with an amazing view of the lake but keep in closed 80% of the time Mistake #3: be a douchebag to your employees like word isn't going to spread in Bay View Absolute shame what you guys have turned what used to be my favorite bar into. read more

I was skeptical at first because we thought this was just a bar, whoa! I was totally wrong, yea there is a way cool patio that faces the water but the food is banging! We can in with a party of six and was handled quickly and friendly! Matt was a great waiter, he was attentive and really fast, knew the menu and was able to make recommendations. The place was packed! Food came out fast and delicious. Great value and good size portions. Good place to nab a pizza or a sandwich. read more

Good but not great. Perch sandwich only has one piece of fish. French fries are OK. I looked at Rayz on this site and they showed sauerkraut balls. But they don't have them. One of the reasons I went there so that was disappointing. Service was good. Ambiance real is nice with views of the lake. read more

We stopped here while on a weekend getaway and loved it. The outside bar had a great vibe to it so we sat there and had some drinks. Our bartender Jen was fantastic. She's really the reason we loved the place so much. I started out with my usual vodka and cranberry but then she recommended the raspberry vodka with cranberry. It was really good! We decided to grab some food while we were there. I ordered the burger with cheese and fries. The burger was good and the fries were very good. They were fresh cut. Our waitress was great as well she gave us really good service. I can't recall her name but she was going to school to be a nurse and was very sweet. If you're in the area give this place a try! I highly recommend it. read more

Great food options. Service was very good, besides the fact that I opened the place. Decor is very nice; modern but inviting.

we have been there many times over the years. it's an okay place but I think it's getting worse not better as time goes by. typical bar food and pricey for the quality. the view is nice the food is okay. the plain cheeseburger was very spicy. no one at the table liked it. It's someplace to go. read more

Great place with multiple outdoor patios and a stunning view at sunset by the lake. Burgers will not disappoint. I had the mushroom swiss which was juicy and decadent, my friend had the hickory smoked BBQ burger. I'm not a fan of BBQ sauce but this burger was very well made, they did not overload it with BBQ sauce and only accentuated the flavor of the burger. Both burgers came with seasoned batter fries for a very filling meal. With 2 beers, cost came to $41, definitely worth it! They warned us that the food would take an hour as the place was packed but everything arrived in less than 30 minutes. Taking away a star because I am not a fan of paper plates or beer in a plastic cup. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area! read more

Food was delicious and the wait time wasn't that long. Beer is cheap and if you over order you have a great meal for tomorrow. Restaurant is right on the water with a great view and couldn't ask for a better divey restaurant spot read more

Looking for something that's a bit hidden but still manages to deliver what's good sure you are as you really can't go wrong with something of that nature as hidden gems are never enough to be found! One given day some friends and I were just driving around killing time enjoying all the amazing views of that gigantic lake when we found Rayz it was purely by mistake or was it as this given night was like a Wednesday or something and I'm like why is this place cracking midweek so a few minutes later with use of some website called Yelp that I'm sure none of you ever heard of before I had my answer! My answer was the specials here mostly burgers at a super good price for a special that usually comes with fries or onion rings so how can you really not be into that! Every time I've been here my food as been awesome as the burgers have tasted fresh and just yummy so you know that will bring you back no matter what as they all have been simple but that's all that was really needed as it just worked! Those onion rings are the kicker beer battered so you know they are good as well as huge in their own circular way of fried goodness definitely some of the better ones I've had for sometime! The fried pepper jack ballz were also yummy too as who doesn't like fried cheese in every way possible! The fried pickles were alright not my favorite but definitely still good in their own pickle way either way you fry it! Overall awesome specials super cool little spot right on the lake just be prepared to be here for a minute as it gets super busy as you can tell it's the locals spot Forshures I'm sure I'll be back here soon as it's just what's good any given day of the week! read more

Order the fried pickles. That is a must. Rayz in located on Sandusky Bay with a lot of outdoor seating and great water views. When you think of Rayz, think bar food, bar food, bar food and you will not be disappointed. In addition to the YUMMY fried pickles, the sauerkraut balls were pretty terrific, too. The other food we ordered was adequate, nothing bad, just ok. There was not a beer tap list although several are offered. A couple folks in our party had cocktails there were fine. Go for the view, order the fried pickles, and enjoy. Did I mention to try the fried pickeles? read more

Great place to enjoy drink specials on the patio that has a beautiful view of Sandusky Bay! The menu has a great variety of food to choose from' During the warmer months they have an elevated bar that always seems to draw a crowd! The Walleye and yellow perch dinners are the best around in my opinion!! This has always been a positive experience every time I've visited!!! read more

Took a drive with no agenda in mind. When we stumbled upon this place. It's kind of out of the way so we decided to give it a try. It's a bar with typical bar atmosphere. They have a small patio on the front and a second bar and outside seating next to the main building. We sat outside and watched the Ohio State game. It was nice. Dogs are allowed as well. They also have a 3nd story balcony which is self serve, but what a view the bay!! Our waiter was amazing we stayed longer than we planned because he was welcoming and very attentive. He said he's leaving for the army soon, hopefully we'll make it back to say goodbye. We both had the perch basket and it was delicious!!! Definitely a place to try read more

While the service is good and the view is great the food is meh in my opinion. The homemade chips taste like fish, the "sliced beef" on the philly is actually steakems, I think the burgers are frozen patties. If you just want fried bar food it might do...Its a shame because this place could be great. Definitely make this a summer stop on a nice Sunday drive for a couple drinks out on their awesome deck though! read more

Rayz on the Bay - Nice place right on the bay . Great in the summer. - Burgers Near Me - Sandusky, Ohio

Clean nice bar and burger joint. Shot and a beer. burger nice and juicy. Clean floors and overall organized and service was good.

First time at Rayz on the Bay - excellent venue!!! We went for lunch and there was a decent crowd but didn't wait, service was superb (thanks Kelly). Margaritas were quite tasty - I had the Club Ballz with sweet chili sauce - VERY light breading good flavor - plenty of food. My wife had the fried bologna which she thoroughly enjoyed and Mother had 1/4 lb burger and was content. VERY clean, including restrooms!!! We will go back at night as it appears it could be a lot of fun and it also has a wonderful view of the Bay. read more

We were looking for a lunch spot on the water, and this place was perfect! We sat on the roof top, enjoyed a couple Coronas, I had a BLT wrap and my dining partner opted for the chicken balls. Everything was super tasty, and the view couldn't be beat. I could see the place getting a little crazy in the evenings/at night, but the afternoon provided a laid back oasis. Loved it. read more

Friendly staff, great made to order food, icy cold drinks, picturesquely situated right on beautiful Sandusky Bay. A summer must!

Enjoyed this spot while on vacation, the fried chicken balls were excellent, you can get them in any buffalo style sauce you want. The cheesesteak was not big but was very good as well. Pretty much fried food heaven, pickles, onion rings, cheese curds etc. and the waitress was very nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend if you're in the neighborhood. read more

I write this from the perspective of a first time visitor. My first impression was that I was walking into a neighborhood bar. The bar didn't have an empty stool, and everyone seemed to know each other. If you're looking for a quiet spot for a private conversation, this is not it. I found the staff to be welcoming and attentive. I tried one of their specialty hamburgers and their hand-cut fries, and I enjoyed both. They have a great view of the lake; and even though I visited on a cold day, the outdoor seating looked very inviting. read more

We stopped for lunch here today with my dog, thinking we'd sit outside. Since it was a bit chilly, our waiter, Blake, directed us to an enclosed outside area where we could be more comfortable. Blake was very considerate and even brought a bowl of water for Ginger, unasked. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and their chips, and my friend had the Philly with fries, both very good. We were the only ones sitting in this area, but Blake came back several times to check on us. Great service! read more

Found this place on Yelp before heading over to Put in Bay. Everything was amazing! Service was great (Noah was our waiter) and food was exceptional. My husband ordered ten wings (hot garlic Parmesan) and he could barely finish. Wings were huge and SO good! I ordered the chicken ballZ and the portion was enough for two. Nice view of the bay and super clean restaurant and restrooms. Definitely would return!! read more

The environment is great. Right on the bay. I'm sure it would be a blast in the summer. My waiter was good but was either overly busy or disengaged. I think he stopped at my table once to see if I needed anything else. I guess he was in another part of the restaurant. I had a perch basket and a vodka tonic. The drink was great. The perch was very average. read more

Stopped in on 4-3-24 close to closing ( didn't know that it was close to closing time) and our server was great. So again thank you! read more

My husband and I both had the fried fish basket which was okay. Not great but not bad either. Service was on the slow side because of the crowd but everyone was very kind. Our only disappointment was that being new, our waitress ran our credit card three times before returning to say that it had been declined. It wasn't declined at all though and were charged all three times. Now, we have to go thru the pain of following up on Tuesday wheen the managers in because no one there knew how to correct the error. The manager on duty told us the dupe charges would "fall off" and to not worry about it. Appreciated the laugh at the ridiculousness of the suggestion but clearly ... not accurate so hope they all get some training!! read more

Food was pretty good, some of the best fried mushrooms I've ever had! Nice sitting outside under the deck in the shade I did not see anyone wiping down tables or chairs, the menus were so sticky yucky I wonder if they had Covid on them.
