These guys are great. Very knowlegable, great communication throughout the process...and delivered om what they promised. I took a custom rig I built a few months back to them when all of a sudden the bios wouldn't post. I consider myself fairly knowledable with computers , and built this rig myself, after 2 days of troubleshooting, I decided I need a professional....and found Ray's online looking for reviews. I brought it in on Monday of Christmas week and they were able to start working on it Tuesday before Christmas Eve, they had a solution for me, that Friday morning, less than 3 business days. Steve is my hero! The hard drive on my iMac crashed. I kept ignoring that my iMac was almost 12 years old and that I needed to upgrade to a new one but I was putting it off. It crashed and I was devastated. I purchased a new machine and Steve worked his magic. He was able to recover my all of my priceless data and migrated it all on my new machine!! Yes you can repair your Mac, and Ray's Connecting Point will get it done for you. Ray's is literally an institution when it comes to Apple products. Ray's takes you back to the good old days when computers were new, and excellent customer service was a thing. Steve and Jamie will greet you at the door. They are superb technicians, easy going, friendly and helpful. If you love your old computer, you should stop in and have a chat. Steve owns Ray's, and he wants everyone to know that Ray's also fixes PCs, and updated the store sign to reflect that. Ray's has been selling and fixing Macs since Halloween day, 1980. In those days I worked for the only other Mac shop in the county, and Ray's was formidable back then. Now Ray's stands alone when it comes to fixing your mac. When you walk into the store, you will see Macs stacked wall to wall, arranged in rows on the floor and the counters. There are lots of Macs everywhere. They no longer sell new units but they have some refurbs available at good prices. Repairing your Mac makes sense as new Macs cost a fortune to purchase. I took a client's 2008 iMac into Ray's for diagnosis as it wouldn't boot up. I thought it might be a power supply but I wasn't sure. Steve spent a few hours with the unit replacing virtually every part, from the power supply to the screen and concluded it was faulty main board. Since the Mac was so old and no longer supported by Apple, I asked Steve to remove the hard disk and return the Mac to me which he did. Ray's charges a small diagnostic fee in cases like this where they spend substantial time on a unit. All fees are identified up front so that there are no surprises. Though Ray's couldn't revive my client's old Mac, I was offered a newer 2013 unit for $800 which is really affordable considering that new Macs go for north of $2000. Even if you don't need a repair, take time to see a real computer shop like they used to be in the good old days. Have a chat with Steve and Jamie on just about anything computer related. As well customer friendly advise, not just trying to make a sale of new equipment but offered sound advise that my current MAC was suitable for what I still used it for instead of feeling pressured into buying a new system. This place was AWESOME!!! I would give them 10 stars if I could. They did the impossible. I brought my very expensive MSI gaming computer in that my cats dropped a glass of water on so the keyboard no longer worked. I bought a new keyboard and they assured me they could install it. I warned them it would be difficult but they took on the challenge. They called MSI for instruction and were told that it was impossible to complete the task and how did they get a keyboard anyway since they no longer sell the equipment (it's a legacy computer). I am typing without issue on the computer and the tab did not even come close to breaking the bank or come close to what I was expecting. They quoted me one price and politely asked for such a small amount more that I gave them more voluntarily. I highly recommend them. read more

I can only say great things about Ray's Connecting Point. I have had service work done there and they are extremely knowledgeable about both Apple and MS products. I have also purchased a used laptop there. I could not be happier. It was a great laptop for a "steal" of a deal. I would have spent 3 - 4 times the amount for a new laptop from Best Buy (yuck) and this thing well exceeds my needs. Yesterday (Sat) I called to try to schedule an appt for my Mac that was running slow. Amazingly, Steve answered the phone and said he was there until 4pm. I live by Tyrone Mall and decided to make the drive -- am soooo glad I did!!! He was able to fix my computer AND I didn't have to leave it overnight! I have hesitated to take in my old laptop and pc to any place for fear of being taken advantage of or worse, getting my personal information stolen. I heard horror stories. I didn't want to go to a big box store where they could care less and charge big. These guys are awesome! Fear no more! I am so glad I had gone here based on a recommendation. You drive into the parking lot, and you may hesitate...gun shop, suishi, barbershop...not that these things are necessarily bad, but if I had not been told specifically about this place and was driving by, I probably would keep driving.
