SO AWFUL!! Completely untrustworthy liars. I made an appt for a $49 "service call" for Friday,…read moreand actually moved/cancelled all my patients for that day to make it work, as that was their first available time. I'm re-doing the kitchen, need an electrician to bring it up to code-- and I wasn't sure exactly what I needed done. (Because they need to know.) I called 3x the week before to confirm the appt. Two days before the scheduled appt they ask me to move it up a day, to Thurs, the next day. I say fine-- thankfully I had cleared that day too. I then hold off doing work on my floor so the electrician will be able to walk on it the next day. I ask if the electrician will be able to do any work on this "service call" but I now hear that the "service" described is just giving a quote. The receptionist says she'll find out if any other work can be done. I'm surprised that the appt wasn't booked with this in mind, as I had requested. Anyway, she calls me back when I'm in the middle of work, and says she needs to hear back by 4pm (in 10 minutes!) whether I still want the appt. Then she calls the next morning to say that appt is gone, as is the Fri appt! At this point, I don't trust this company AT ALL. I never said I didn't want the appointment. An appt had been scheduled. If someone calls the customer to say "I need to hear from you in the next 10 minutes or I'm not coming tomorrow" that is pretty outrageous. Perhaps worst of all was hearing her lies defending this unprofessional, unreliable, deceitful practice the next morning when she informed me she cancelled. She said she'd been trying to reach me. If this were true, why was I not informed every (any?) time I called? This is not the way to run a business. Also, requiring that the customer know exactly what is necessary before booking an appointment is not the way to run a business. Charging $49 for a quote but calling it a "service call" is not the way to run a business. Nor is lying. But moving and then cancelling an appointment capriciously, with ridiculous rationalizations, is so disrespectful and unprofessional. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. It messed up my work schedule, and my whole kitchen remodel schedule, delaying it at least a week. In the future I'll call an electrician who can answer my questions directly, book his own appointments, is straightforward and honest, and doesn't charge for a quote and call it a "service call."

From the very beginning, with initial outreach, to the installation, to the system start-up, and to follow up requests, everything was AMAZING. First off, the initial consultation and discussion of the possibilities was exactly how every experience should be. There was no pressure whatsoever, and everything was explained clearly. The representative was super knowledgeable, and responded to all questions quickly. I had a quote within a day of the visit, and phone calls/e-mails with questions were answered promptly. From a price perspective, Great Sky was extremely competitive, something that I honestly did not expect based on everything the company offered. Once the contract was signed, GSS did a fantastic job working with me and the banks, Eversource, and MassSave to make the paperwork process a breeze. During the installation, I continued to be impressed by the GSS folks. Everyone showed up on time, were respectful of my property, and cleaned up at the end as if they were never there- Something that is relatively rare when it comes to construction crews. When I unfortunately did run into issues with my PV system (nothing related to anything GSS did), they were just as impressive with assisting in getting a resolution each time. They communicated with the appropriate parties, including equipment manufacturers, and the State reporting agency, and got my system back up quickly. Overall, I have not one bad thing to say about Great Sky, and it is the only company I recommend to friends and family when they tell me they are considered installing solar panels. Good them a call, you will be glad you did!

The company talks about being invested in the customer experience, and they do everything they can to make things as transparent and seamless as possible. They manage every step of a complicated process that includes design details, permitting, dealing with the electric utility and lots of paperwork. Their products are top of the line and their prices are very competitive (after having researched 5 other companies). We are so happy with our 16-panel array and very enthusiastically recommend Great Sky Solar.

I talked to absolutely every one about a solar panel installation. I easily spent months on…read moreresearching the topic, vendors, and installation techniques. Ultimately I settled on on a mechanically mounted system for my flat roof, which was wonderful. Some vendors would not touch a flat roof. Some only installed ballasted systems. Some vendors assumed that they could use a lift to get onto my roof when they actually needed a crane. Some just wanted to overcharge me with the hot new technology, sweeping the nation. After reviewing multiple bids, I settled on Sunbug to install my system. Chris Miller was a no nonsense saleman throughout my whole research phase. He answered all of my questions, and disabused me of any misinformation I may have had. He was polite, but firm, which is exactly what a layman consumer needs when making a large, delayed gratification purchase like a solar system. Once I signed on the dotted line, their team actually moved fairly quickly through the rest of the process. We were able to install my system before the end of the tax year, so some of that delayed gratification is delayed just a little less. I would give a five star review, but there were a few hiccups. Once I signed the dotted line, the team was less responsive than I needed with my subsequent questions. They installed the inverter in my basement without my input, which is a problem when I plan to finish my basement. We quickly fixed that by simply moving it, but we could have avoided that problem altogether by filling me in on the plan first. I chalk that up to some disorganization, and rushing to complete systems before the end of the tax year. Another silly issue is that their electrician upgraded me to a 200A panel, which is wonderful. For some reason though he reinstalled the same 100A main breaker I originally had, which makes no sense. Now I have to pay some one else to upgrade my main breaker. A month later I am actually still waiting for an inspector to check off on their work so that I can turn the system on, but that may be more an issue with the inspector than with Sunbug. In any event, I am mostly pleased with my purchase, and look forward to bathing my roof in sun shine in the coming years.
