I talked to absolutely every one about a solar panel installation. I easily spent months on…read moreresearching the topic, vendors, and installation techniques. Ultimately I settled on on a mechanically mounted system for my flat roof, which was wonderful. Some vendors would not touch a flat roof. Some only installed ballasted systems. Some vendors assumed that they could use a lift to get onto my roof when they actually needed a crane. Some just wanted to overcharge me with the hot new technology, sweeping the nation. After reviewing multiple bids, I settled on Sunbug to install my system. Chris Miller was a no nonsense saleman throughout my whole research phase. He answered all of my questions, and disabused me of any misinformation I may have had. He was polite, but firm, which is exactly what a layman consumer needs when making a large, delayed gratification purchase like a solar system. Once I signed on the dotted line, their team actually moved fairly quickly through the rest of the process. We were able to install my system before the end of the tax year, so some of that delayed gratification is delayed just a little less. I would give a five star review, but there were a few hiccups. Once I signed the dotted line, the team was less responsive than I needed with my subsequent questions. They installed the inverter in my basement without my input, which is a problem when I plan to finish my basement. We quickly fixed that by simply moving it, but we could have avoided that problem altogether by filling me in on the plan first. I chalk that up to some disorganization, and rushing to complete systems before the end of the tax year. Another silly issue is that their electrician upgraded me to a 200A panel, which is wonderful. For some reason though he reinstalled the same 100A main breaker I originally had, which makes no sense. Now I have to pay some one else to upgrade my main breaker. A month later I am actually still waiting for an inspector to check off on their work so that I can turn the system on, but that may be more an issue with the inspector than with Sunbug. In any event, I am mostly pleased with my purchase, and look forward to bathing my roof in sun shine in the coming years.

From the very beginning, with initial outreach, to the installation, to the system start-up, and to follow up requests, everything was AMAZING. First off, the initial consultation and discussion of the possibilities was exactly how every experience should be. There was no pressure whatsoever, and everything was explained clearly. The representative was super knowledgeable, and responded to all questions quickly. I had a quote within a day of the visit, and phone calls/e-mails with questions were answered promptly. From a price perspective, Great Sky was extremely competitive, something that I honestly did not expect based on everything the company offered. Once the contract was signed, GSS did a fantastic job working with me and the banks, Eversource, and MassSave to make the paperwork process a breeze. During the installation, I continued to be impressed by the GSS folks. Everyone showed up on time, were respectful of my property, and cleaned up at the end as if they were never there- Something that is relatively rare when it comes to construction crews. When I unfortunately did run into issues with my PV system (nothing related to anything GSS did), they were just as impressive with assisting in getting a resolution each time. They communicated with the appropriate parties, including equipment manufacturers, and the State reporting agency, and got my system back up quickly. Overall, I have not one bad thing to say about Great Sky, and it is the only company I recommend to friends and family when they tell me they are considered installing solar panels. Good them a call, you will be glad you did!

The company talks about being invested in the customer experience, and they do everything they can to make things as transparent and seamless as possible. They manage every step of a complicated process that includes design details, permitting, dealing with the electric utility and lots of paperwork. Their products are top of the line and their prices are very competitive (after having researched 5 other companies). We are so happy with our 16-panel array and very enthusiastically recommend Great Sky Solar.

However, the lowest price vendor had aweful ratings and very poor BBB reviews. I'm happy with RevoluSun's price. I had a Zoom sales meeting in late February and the panel was turned on in July. A large reason for the five-month delay was town and power company inspections. I was told these delays are expected ahead of time, so no surprise. The steps involved included getting aerial surveillance, plans for the job, checking roof stability, electricians, and as mentioned before inspections, inspections, inspections, and more inspections. The actual installation was done in two mornings, clean and without any issues. I only have the highest regard for the RevoluSun people involved. Pros: Work was done without any problems. My first electrical bill was $5, the next two were around $20. Not $250. I believe them when they said the panels should be paid off in 6 years. I believe my total cost (after tax rebates) will be about $10,000. Cons: I reviewed the contract very carefully and found a number of flaws (e.g., missing guarantee for the panels' life, some damage exclusions made no sense). I'm no lawyer, but it pays to read the 'fine' print. They approved my revisions. The final visit and review of the app was originally scheduled as a Zoom meeting. There were enough details (e.g., what the 3 indoor and 2 outdoor switches do - and what I need to do in an emergency, the app showing electrical savings, review of the power company's 3 most recent bills) that I strongly suggest it be a person-to-person meeting. The project manager sent four emails trying to get it to be a Zoom meeting. I was able to get a vice president to explain the system. A very, very good 1-to-1 meeting.

From the start he came with detailed information, a very well thought out proposal and clear pricing. All that, and he didn't have the typically pushy approach. I think they know that the work they put into the proposal does the heavy lifting. If you're looking for pros to take care of your advanced installation, this is the team. I had them install a SPAN smart panel and two SolarEdge batteries in my system and everything runs great! The team was responsive and communicative throughout the entire process, and always quick to chase down any answers to my very specific questions. They handled all the incentive and connected solutions paperwork and I'm confident they'll continue to support their product into the future. 10/10 would recommend.
