Great Sky Solar is the best! We highly recommend them. After meeting with another installer who used very aggressive sales tactics, we decided to go with Great Sky Solar. We checked out other reviews and they were all incredibly positive--and now we couldn't agree more! Josh from their sales team is professional, genuine, and highly knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all our questions without any high-pressure tactics, which was a major factor in our decision, alongside the fact that they are owner-operated. Rebecca, our project manager, was absolutely great and very accommodating with our schedule. She was spot on with managing the complex coordination with the city and Eversource for permitting, interconnect/export agreements, REC credits, and rebates. Their onsite crew was awesome! The electricians and installers were efficient, professional, and kept everything organized and clean. Great Sky Solar uses their own full-time installers rather than subcontractors, which really shows in the quality and care they put into their work. The entire job was completed in just two days. This company is truly built on integrity. If you are looking for a solar installer, look no further! read more

I hired Great Sky Solar (GSS) to do an install on my home a few years back, and had one of the best experiences with a company ever. From the very beginning, with initial outreach, to the installation, to the system start-up, and to follow up requests, everything was AMAZING. First off, the initial consultation and discussion of the possibilities was exactly how every experience should be. There was no pressure whatsoever, and everything was explained clearly. The representative was super knowledgeable, and responded to all questions quickly. I had a quote within a day of the visit, and phone calls/e-mails with questions were answered promptly. From a price perspective, Great Sky was extremely competitive, something that I honestly did not expect based on everything the company offered. Once the contract was signed, GSS did a fantastic job working with me and the banks, Eversource, and MassSave to make the paperwork process a breeze. During the installation, I continued to be impressed by the GSS folks. Everyone showed up on time, were respectful of my property, and cleaned up at the end as if they were never there- Something that is relatively rare when it comes to construction crews. When I unfortunately did run into issues with my PV system (nothing related to anything GSS did), they were just as impressive with assisting in getting a resolution each time. They communicated with the appropriate parties, including equipment manufacturers, and the State reporting agency, and got my system back up quickly. Overall, I have not one bad thing to say about Great Sky, and it is the only company I recommend to friends and family when they tell me they are considered installing solar panels. Good them a call, you will be glad you did! read more

Our experience working with Great Sky Solar was exceptional. Every person we dealt with, from our initial contact through the installation crew, was kind, communicative, informative, professional, and excellent at their job. The company talks about being invested in the customer experience, and they do everything they can to make things as transparent and seamless as possible. They manage every step of a complicated process that includes design details, permitting, dealing with the electric utility and lots of paperwork. Their products are top of the line and their prices are very competitive (after having researched 5 other companies). We are so happy with our 16-panel array and very enthusiastically recommend Great Sky Solar. read more

As I turned up my AC more than a few times this summer I said to myself, THANK YOU Great Sky Solar. It has been now 20 months without an electric bill and the 21-panel Solar System installed by Great Sky has worked flawlessly. I can view the performance using the ENPHASE monitor. Great Sky was as perfect as it can get with design, installation and commissioning. Winter, summer, spring, or fall the panels have been maintenance-free. I thought the Great Sky team was wonderful to work with and they answered every question I had. My roof, which has multiple "lines" and facing directions, was analyzed to provide the most cost-effective solution. As an environmental and efficiency Professional Engineer, this attention to detail was something I love for my wallet as well as the planet. Go green and save green! read more

We have had an excellent experience with Great Sky Solar -- from their sales team, to the installers and electricians, to any questions we've had since we've been up and running. Ours is not a big array, but we haven't had to pay an electric bill in months and we get regular checks from our electric company. We're effectively running our air conditioning for free this summer. A great team at Great Sky and a great investment! read more

This is an competent company from a technical/installation standpoint- they provided me with careful analytics when planning the solar project at my home, and showed up when promised to install the system. But in terms of maintenance and repair, they are unbelievably unresponsive and irresponsible. When my solar system stopped working for some unknown reason, they failed to respond effectively to my requests (made by phone and email) to schedule a repair or even to troubleshoot the problem. When I finally received a response, they promised to show up and failed to do so. The company is very good at taking their customers' money and doing a competent installation. But they are completely unreliable in terms of systems maintenance and customer service. There are many other solar installers out there. I regret that I cannot recommend Great Sky Solar. read more

My system was installed last year after I noticed one of their vans in the area. The entire process was smooth, and the technical team was exceptional, responding to my questions promptly. Three months later, everything is functioning as expected. read more

Great Sky just recently completed my solar panel installation, and today I received Permission to Operate from Eversource. I was very pleased with the Great Sky team. Their work was exemplary; I could tell they take pride in what they do. They were efficient, careful, and neat. The team leader (Matt) and the project manager (Anna) kept me informed of every step along the way, and they were responsive to every question, taking the time to explain everything to my satisfaction. They were always there when they said they'd be, and they shepherded the whole process of permits through the power company and the city inspector. I have nothing but praise for these folks and can't recommend them highly enough. read more

I called them twice and left a message and also emailed them. They never got back to me.

Initial contact was great, but I'm not sure what happened after the following first communication. Emails were answered, and there was no push to follow up or even visit the location. Ended up going with someone else read more

I was contacted by Great Sky Solar after submitting a request for residential solar quotes from Energy Sage. Unlike many of the other solicitations, the salesperson was extremely patient and listened to what I wanted from a system. This is in contrast to the other larger companies that were very insistent on getting me to sign on to a PPA plan immediately. After getting quotes from 3 companies, we went with Great Sky because 1) they were the most responsive and genuinely interested in helping us through the process 2) were priced at or below the other quotes. We went with 21 SolarWorld 285W panels for a total of 6kW. We secured our own loan from North Brookfield Savings Bank through a program run by the Mass CEC (a process I highly recommend). Great Sky worked with us so we had no upfront costs and they agreed to pay the interest on our loan until the system was up and running. It took approximately 1 month from the time we secured the loan to our system being up and running. The installation team was courteous, clean, respectful, and very professional. They did not rush the job and took a few days to make sure everything was done correctly. The system is now up and running and generating even more power than I expected. My only criticism is that I felt the post-installation service from this company could use some improvement. The installer finished the system during the day while I was at work so he was not able to walk me through how to turn it on/off etc. I wish they had a written instruction booklet or something to walk me through how it works and what to do if something goes wrong. To be fair, Mike offered to come to my home when I was available to walk me through anything I was not sure about. I also got an email telling me to expect an email from the srectrade company (that handles your sRecs) and from National Grid regarding the installation of the Net meter. It would be nice if all this information was included in some kind of document so I knew exactly what to expect and when after the installation process was done. Again, everything went fine but because I was unfamiliar with all the different steps, it would have been nice to have a reference guide of what to expect. Other than that, I highly recommend the company and especially David Bridge as the salesperson. He is knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Final thought, solar panels have different appearances and some have a metallic perimeter (like ours) and some are dark all the way across, which I think looks a little better. Just something to consider. Good Luck to all those going green! We are very happy we did ! read more

Great Sky was great throughout the process of getting residential solar installed on my home. They were prompt, always forthright with quotes and answers to my (many) questions, and easy to communicate with. During the actual installation days the electricians arrived early and we're done early each day! That is almost completely unheard of with contractors. For the permitting process their office kept me abreast of the inspection schedule and when I would likely be able to finally turn on the system. If you want a competitive price, a company that is a strong, honest communicator, and support a great small business, look no further than Great Sky Solar. read more

Great Sky Solar designed a bespoke ground mount array for my property, and was very flexible about positioning it so as to fit in with the esthetics of the landscape and avoid needlessly taking down trees. Once the project began, the Great Sky team showed up every day for three weeks until completion, and liaised with the local utility company to commission the array. The workmanship was and is excellent, and Great Sky has always been available to help me understand how the system works and to address any glitches. The whole company is very friendly, easy to work with and committed to my satisfaction. I recommend Great Sky wholeheartedly. read more

They did a good job our project and 3 other friends in Arlington used them and were pleased.

We at Wellesley Friends Meeting were very happy with every aspect of Great Sky's work for us. We thoroughly interviewed and researched solar installation companies in the greater Boston area, selected them carefully, and were rewarded with a thoughtful and excellent project completion. read more
