I had an appointment for a recall issue (Seat belt replacement). The day after I made the appointment for the recall another issue with my A/C started. I called and appended the work order. I dropped off the car the night before, and I called at 8:30am the day of the appointment to confirm the work order. The appended matter was not added. THe service woman added it that morning. I called at 2:30pm to ask if the car was done. I was concerned that they had not called and the service dept closes at 6pm. I was told the car had not been looked at. Called back at 4pm. They told me they would need it another day. Why make an appointment and have it ignored? The car was not looked at the entire day of the appointment. The next day, it took approximately 2 hours for both items to be fixed. I had to take another day off from work, because of the lack of planning, and communication. read more

WARNING: FALSIFIED SAFETY INSPECTION & DANGEROUS DEFECTS Do not buy a vehicle from this dealership. Two months after purchasing a truck here, the power steering lines completely ruptured while driving, causing a sudden loss of steering control. A licensed independent mechanic inspected the vehicle and verified in writing that the lines failed due to severe, long-term rust rot that takes years to form. This dealership provided an official vehicle inspection form at the time of sale explicitly stating that the entire steering system "passed." They either completely fabricated the safety inspection or knowingly sold a life-threatening road hazard. When confronted with the photos of the rotted lines and their own falsified paperwork, the General Manager refused to cover the repair at a qualified shop. Instead, he openly admitted that their Ford facility "does not usually work on Nissans" and can only do "general stuff." After refusing all liability, they attempted to offer a cheap $500 "favor", on what is currently a $2500 estimated repair, to buy their way out of a state investigation. I have rejected their lowball offer. I have officially filed formal fraud and safety complaints with both the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office and the Connecticut DMV Dealer Licensing Division, attaching the photos of the rust and their signed inspection sheet. I made an appointment for some work and they looked at my old car and probably realized they couldn't charge me a fortune and never fixed it. They lied on the phone that they were working on it and I had to tow it back home and it wasn't cheap. The word is in town that they changed management and the new management is hated by the town. They told me, however, I couldn't test driver because it needs to be serviced first, but after it was service that I could so, and if I to put a deposit hold I so I did put $200 down in good faith upon returning when the car was serviced, I put in a offer, and they refused it, so I could not go any higher than what I offered, and deals were to the vehicle. DO NOT RECOMMEND! Look at lynch Toyota or balise Toyota for reliable and honest cars. Recently bought a used car at ray seraphin ford. Within the first week, it broke down and needed to be towed after I was on the highway... it was terrifying. I believe that they knowingly sold us a car with transmission problems. They added a module to the car to "fix" the problem but the car keeps jumping and at this point will probably break down again. I have never had any issues with other dealerships. I recommend lynch Toyota in Manchester and balise Toyota in Massachusetts. I have bought numerous new cars at balise with excellent service and traded in a car for a used one at lynch Toyota and have never have a problem with it. I also had my cars serviced at lynch Toyota and they are transparent and fair. I only buy cars from dealerships because I thought that they at least have integrity. Not here at ray seraphin ford. I just bought my first car ( 2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring) from this dealership and it was huge mistake; I don't know how the car passed emissions at the DMV. Within the first month of owing my first car, I am already having major issues. Two weeks ago, my AC stop working and thick smoke and a weird smell started to come out of the vents, so I called the dealership and brought it back where they "fixed" the problem. A few days later, the check engine light came back on and the Cold and Hot thermometer was all the way on H. Now I am left to find a mechanic and get these problems fixed. Please go to another dealership and invest your money somewhere else. Comes to find out there was no anti freeze in my radiator so my engine could have blew up. Bought a used Ford at an out-of-state Ford dealer. Brought it to Seraphin about 5 times. It was covid, so stuff was shut down and backordered, not their fault and I'm not reviewing that. I had a great warranty. Car was into Seraphin about 5 times. Seraphin missed a big problem with the car (that a different Ford dealer caught right away). Seraphin fixed several lesser (but important) things they found. Twice Seraphin's work needed to be re-done. Not good. I feel, Seraphin would disagree, that Seraphin misled me on costs to the tune of $5000, which is not chump change. Overall, I can't recommend these guys for service, at all. Bought a brand new $50k car from that other Ford dealer after selling the used car Seraphin "worked" on (repeatedly). Worst experience I have ever had with a shop in my life, and I worked at shops and know how they should operate. I made an appointment that was 4 weeks out, I dropped my truck off for my appointment, she calls me and tells me the diagnostic of what seemed like someone else's vehicle, i did not bring my truck for diagnostics i brought my truck to have performance parts put in, this is a very straight forward job.. I figured she was going to call me back that day for my quote, she did not. My truck sat in the same spot for 11 days untouched with absolutely no communication. I was calling to figure out what was going on and they just kept telling me someone would call me back, nobody ever did. They did not even want to acknowledge me until I said I was getting pissed off about how I'm being treated, they tell me to wait longer for my quote... At this point I'm over it, I need a vehicle to drive not sit there for days untouched. I call Ashley and just tell her I want my truck back and she started getting a tone with me, so I gave her one back, she then tells me its not her problem that i had to wait 4 weeks for this appointment! customer service is her job and she can't even do it correctly. I go to pick my truck up and surprise! Its blocked in by a superduty. I called another dealership and told them what happened and they already knew about the BS this place pulls, they told me to never go to ray seraphin ford. It blows my mind that someone actually put their legal name on the side of the building and they are proud of it. This place is a blemish to the town of vernon and ford! I found out that although my car has FordPass it does not have remote start which was listed on the detail on the window. That was my fault for not confirming with the salesman. I picked it up on a Monday and the front end was out of alignment, the stearing wheel shook like it was having a seasure, bad windshield wipers, cruise control didn't work, and I've had to have it looked at twice since I got it. Awful!!! I waited 5 months for the car I ordered. When it finally came it was not the color they told me and there was no keyless entry as I ordered. They put one on not from the factory and said the only difference was I would eventually have to replace the battery. Now it has died and they say I have to pay for a whole new one and they can't replace the battery. I tried to speak to the sales manager Alan McDonald about this, but all he did was say well you have a key fob. Then he told me I was disrespectful as he continued to talk over me. All this for a $100 part that didn't even need to be replaced. My husband replaced the battery in less than 10 minutes! On top of all that they couldn't diagnose a problem with my other Ford vehicle for almost two years. They even kept the vehicle for a week trying to fix it and then tried to charge me for the gas there service man used to drive it back and forth to his house trying to see the problem. We rented the exact same vehicle on vacation and it had the same problem, yet they said it wasn't a known problem. I could see many people with the same issue online. I eventually had to get the malfunction code myself and have a friend tell me what was wrong. I brought it in and they had to call my friend, who doesn't work for Ford, to fix it. I dropped my car off at 9am (figuring out where to go is a pain, waiting room is in the sales showcase, hard to find the entrance to check in, and the parking lot is just overcrowded and it was confusing on where to go). And when I checked in they quoted about 3-3.5 hours to fix the recall. I get picked up and we come back around 1:15 and they say about another 1.5 hours. I didn't get a call until 4:15 saying my car was done. The 3.5 hour job turned into a 7 hour job and the time that was quoted both times were wrong. People there are friendly and helped me especially since I do not know much about cars and it was my first time getting a repair but their extreme inaccuracies of time and the confusion of the parking lot made this an annoying experience. read more

A husband and wife go to Ray Seraphin Ford to purchase a new vehicle on a saturday. They tell the dealership if numbers work out they will purchase that day, dealer agrees that they can drive home in said vehicle same day. After negotiation, they were very close to purchase, but said dealership is having issues finalizing numbers and couldn't deliver new vehicle the same day either. Dealer received large down-payment which was given, and said to come back on monday. The paperwork given to the couple was wrong with Vin and year were different. After looking up Vin given, couple found this was for a newer vehicle aylt a different dealer for much less than vehicle being sold. So with the paperwork discrepancy and cheaper price, couple goes to another dealership to purchase a better model for far less then what said dealer offered. Now ray seraphin is holding the down-payment hostage, refuses to refund even though no paperwork was signed and requested to cancel deal before they opened on Monday. So now the dealership is REFUSING to refund the deposit until all the negative reviews are removed!! Unbelievable! **UPDATE** Dealer finally did refund money and offered an apology. read more

While I have not bought a car from this dealership, I have been to their service department on two (well, technically 3) separate occasions. For the good of my wallet, I won't be going back. My first experience with them was pretty good. I drive a Ford Focus and my AC needed a hose replaced. I took it into their service department and while they didn't have the part, they were able to get a hold of it quickly and I got my car back in a reasonable amount of time. No complaints about the first visit. Months later, I brought my car in for it's 90,000 mile scheduled maintenance, which includes a "multi-point inspection" (including all belts and hoses...which is important later on). The technicians said that nothing was really wrong with it, just needed an oil change, a new fuel filter and some minor work. That visit cost just shy of $400. Exactly 31 days later (less than 1,000 miles) my fan belt broke. I took it back to Ray Seraphin Ford, hoping they would give me a break on the cost as I had just taken my car there. Explaining the situation, I offered to pay for the part, but not for labor since it seemed that my car wasn't inspected thoroughly the last time I was there. My "Ford Service Specialist" pretty much stone-walled me. He explained that the belt is difficult to inspect and would be easy to miss. When I pressed what he would do in my situation, having just paid a dealership $400 for scheduled maintenance inspection and have the car break down weeks later, he dodged. He stressed that it's difficult to inspect the belt given how many pulleys it turns. In the end, he agreed to take some money off of the cost of labor (it was less than 10% of the final bill). It cost $140 to put a new fan belt on and I was once again without a car for a few days. So one good experience and one rotten experience equals a solid 2 out of 5 stars for their service department. For me, the bottom line is I can't trust them. If a Ford service center can't spot a worn fan belt on a Ford Focus, then the solution is to find a better mechanic. read more

When they heard we were from out of town and stranded they went above be and beyond to take care of us. From giving us a ride to and from a hotel to squeezing us in and taking care of the issue as soon as possible. In less than 24 hours we were back on the road with our car running like new. Our daughter fell in love with a 2007 Volkswagen Passat that Ray seraphin Ford had for sale. Carfax from dealership came back showing one accident, minor. Daughter purchased car. We made sure to have every type of maintenance plan put on the car, which in the end was a good and bad move. First, the maintenance plan that was set up for her car was for regular oil, which her car uses synthetic. Her very first oil change, they put in regular oil. Thankfully I have a Volkswagen and googled what type of oil her car used. I was able to get in touch with ray seraphin before my daughter had driven it any further, and they changed the oil to synthetic, but not without charging us the difference that was now not covered under her maintenance plan. I am not a mechanic, but I became one after that day as it seemed like every time I called them, there was a new issue that they did not pick up on. my best advice for anyone looking at used cars there is, if you have time to have the car you want to purchase inspected by another garage you trust, do it! There were so many problems with her car, one of them with the entire steering rack, that was due to a previous accident that didn't show up on the Carfax that was initially given to us. Thankfully she had a service plan for that too, so the majority of it was covered. Hence the good and bad parts of the maintenance plans. We continued to pay the difference of the regular vs. synthetic oil because we had already foolishly purchased their plan, but the icing on the cake came when her maintenance plan was done, and they didn't have the courtesy to tell us, until they charged her almost $100.00 for an oil change. I was so thankful in the end that we no longer required their services. Would I ever buy another vehicle from them again? Not on your life! I wrote this quite awhile back. After realizing that they did not refund the extended warranty they told us that they are holding our money because the rebate didn't go through. They told us that they tried to contact us at least 25 times but could not reach us. We have not changed any of our contact information and they could contact us just fine when the money was flowing their way. They owe us OVER $1000. They TOLD US one thing and put another in writing. I know dealerships get a bad rap for regular service but I have found their prices to be reasonable and when I have questions they are willing to discuss with me what my options are. There have been numerous times when I looked online and either found cheaper parts or alternative solutions and we were able to work out the best way to go about it. As a veteran, I am very pleased with their veteran discount and solicitousness. I also know the local PD and FD have their squad cars serviced here as well. Run, don't walk from this place. Dealt with Tom in sales and Bruce in service. Tom was the typical brainless salesman who will say anything just to get you to sign. After the sale when there are warranty problems, Bruce will give you the SLOWEST response and is either lazy or incompetent. I can almost forgive the sales department because they are all alike, but the horrible service department and moody manager was unforgiveable. I'm in the process of working things out with Ford directly and taking my complaints up the chain of command. The place is very out of date and needs a major overhaul, but I suggest you start with personnel first. read more

Very expensive service, more expensive than other Ford dealerships I dealt with. The person managing my service plan was not willing to provide any discounts or cut down on their "hypothetical" hours they schedule even though I have paid over $4K there just in repairs. They billed me for eight hours once then called after four hours of the service start, and when I asked if I just pay for four that man said no, the system is programmed for eight hours so I have to pay for that!!
