Worst dining experience ever, food tasted horribly bland and was overpriced, service very sub-par not to mention the food poisoning everyone in our group received from the experience. I guess i'll be cleaning vomit out of my car for the next few days, with love.. I give this place a one star because negative 5 stars wasn't an option. Loved it! Some people say it's pricey, but it's actually quite reasonable. With their ingredients being top notch, such as: cashews, unrefined coconut oil, dates, seeds, nuts, etc, I don't mind paying more. Any of these ingredients are pricey in the grocery store, so for what they have to offer in their restaurant, I find the prices quite reasonable. It's a pretty unique menu, that's for sure. The food is good but a bit overpriced in my opinion. I was taken to this restaurant by a friend as I was in from out of town. The service was good and the owner of the restaurant is a very good guy. He came over several times to check on us to make sure all was good. All in all, it was a good experience. read more

I ordered the basil dressing salad that came with avocados, strawberries, fresh leafy greens, and seeds. I was a bit shocked at the $16 price tag because my salad was salad. No meat. The basil dressing was to-die-for and everything tasted so fresh. I wish I could say I wouldn't pay $16 for a meatless salad again but I would... I have... And I will come back. I liked Omar's a lot, but my husband really disliked the place (he is extrodinarily open minded, but definitely not a raw foodie). I got the pizza which was AWESOME, it had a real pizza flavor and I enjoyed the crunchy crust. My husband got the "bean burrito". Okay, I will side with my husband here and say that there was nothing burrito-like about this dish. Lots of lettuce, about 1/4 cup (if that) of sunflower seed "bean" paste, avacado, dried olives, macadamia sour cream, sprouts, celery and tomatoes just in a pile on the plate, not even rolled up like a burrito. The dish cost $16, and they charged an extra $1.50 for a small side of hot sauce. I personally would never order that dish, as I don't feel it's a good value. Their raw desserts are also a bit pricy, but man are they awesome. I had the "coffee cake" which tastes EXACTLY like terra misu! Sooooo delicious! Its $8 for a small slice. I understand that there is nothing else like this in SLC, but they could give you a little more for the amount you spend. That said I do understand that each different dish requires a lot of time to prepare, and the ingredients are expensive. Very delicious gourmet food. Beautiful restaurant with nice jazz - vey alive but peaceful! We split the baba ganoush appetizer which was soooo good - flavorful and served with these amazing seed based crackers. My husband had the bison burger which he loved and I had a Thai curry zucchini noodle dish which was spicy and perfect. It had fresh vegetables throughout. I really love this place and look forward to working my way through the menu! Try it - you will love it!!! read more

We love the food here. The crackers are delicious. The Gogi ginger ade is also one of our favorites. We've tried several different items on the menu and have enjoyed everything. But perhaps our favorite part is Omar. Every time we go to his restaurant, he comes out to check on us, answer questions, and just chat. I have been wanting to try this place for a long time! I had the Asian salad (which was fantastic), and my friend had the baba ganoush, (not heavy and good flavor), and the mushroom soup which was interesting but neither of us would order it again. We were enjoying our first visit there, until my friend kept saying that the guys behind the counter were staring at us. I had my back to the bar, but I looked back and we both noticed a group that was waiting to be seated. It was busy but not packed, and there were empty tables on either side of us, so apparently ours was the spot they targeted for the larger party. I wasn't too worried about it at first (I was facing the wall and didn't fully get it), but my friend seemed distracted and uncomfortable due to the increasingly pronounced stares directed at us. We finished our meal and got up to leave, and before we were halfway to the door, the owner (I believe) rushed over and started to clear the table where we had been sitting. I felt like this conduct was incredibly unprofessional. My lunch & coffee alone cost around $30 with tip. I was expecting it to be a little pricey, which is fine, but I am disappointed that the experience was unnecessarily tarnished by less than desirable treatment. I'm really disappointed with my entire experience here. After the really amazing reviews and a friend's recommendation my boyfriend and I decided to try it out. We were seated immediately and the hostess was very nice. She brought us room temperature water, which I thought was interesting. We got the hummus bite as the appetizer, it was really mediocre for being $7. There were people who came in after us who had already gotten their meal before our waitress brought us our appetizer. The hummus bite is basically a lettuce wedge with hummus on it. For our entre we each got the lasagna, which was the special of the day. It had zucchini noodles and was warmed in the dehydrator. The lasagna came with a side salad that had a sweet basil dressing. I'm vegetarian have never had vegan lasagna so this was interesting. I was not a fan of the lasagna or even the salad for that matter. I think everything was really overpriced. We had water, the appetizer and the lasagna, and the total was $50 without a tip. I'm not vegan so maybe my review is biased, but I don't think we'll be back. read more

Amazing restaurant!!! I am a raw vegan foodie myself, but my family came who are not raw and not vegan and they still were thrilled with the food! I ordered the falafel salad but ended up eating half of my mom's burger (wrapped in a cabbage leaf) because it was so amazing! also tried a slice of my sister's pizza which was super delicious and actually tasted like cooked pizza. Amazingly creative and unique, as Omar's passion for food is aesthetically delivered on each plate. This place is definitely worth visiting. The salads are truly distinctive -- I've never had anything quite like them. There seems to be a lot of attention to culinary detail: each dish is a blend of flavors which vary a lot between bites. Do keep in mind that the dishes are not likely to fill you up: I kept wishing for a side of bread or mashed potatos or pasta. Given the restaurant's emphasis on raw it makes sense not to have those items: it would diminish the experience and probably make me less able to taste my food. But do expect to head across the street to Whole Foods after your visit because most likely you will walk away still hungry. The prices too are expensive. It was definitely worth one visit. But I don't think I'm likely to go again given that I paid about 20 dollars a person for what is better described as a very refined and elegant snack rather than a meal. read more
