They are a first come first serve establishment. Skillets is one of my favorite places to eat and it has consistently been delicious. When you and the servers what they recommend, most all of them will say the burrito with green sauce. Listen. To. Them. There is something magical in their burritos and that green sauce is the liquid gold that will tie everything together. I've also gotten the breakfast tower and it is a great way to try a variety of items!! We only got seated when someone offered us an outside table just to get us out of the lobby. Then it got worse! The menus were dropped on the table with zero interaction, an item missing from our order, and some of it wrong. They served us coffee in a regular tall glass. Like the ones typically used for water which made the coffee get cold before we finished our meal. Honestly, this was the worst experience I've had at a restaurant! I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was fried crispy but the sauce and toppings were unmemorable and lacked any kind of punch or umami to speak of. It came with a side of food service fries, which were crispy but served with plain old ketchup. Oh by the way everything is expensive. Starters were $15+ and most entrees, including noodle soups were $20+ which is crazy. Cocktails were $18 and no wine pour less than $16. The only thing cheap is the beer which makes sense because it was mediocre at best. Server brought the check, said "no rush" and then we waited while he sat three tables, brought drinks for three tables and took two food orders. After 15 minutes I took the bill to the till and had him run it in front of me. I still tipped because I'm not that person. Not going back, there's better beer and Asian food elsewhere.
