We have had Vertechs relocate light fixtures in our ceiling and walls as well as relocate and add fire detectors. They have serviced our breaker box as well as interior and exterior outlets. Their technicians have always been polite, respectful and informative when explaining the issues they have discovered and how they conducted the repairs. Last week they were at our home as we were having issues with original outlets installed by the builder shutting off and becoming extremely hot. The problem was taken care of the same day I called as the issues were very serious to me. I really like the fact that I am informed of their progress and proximity to my home when they are coming to the house to conduct repairs. I also have 18 foot ceilings in parts of the home as well as in the stairway to the second floor and they are the only company I have found who will come out to change lightbulbs and smoke detector batteries at those ceiling heights. I highly recommend Vertechs, they are the only electrical company I will use and I feel very fortunate they do not find any electrical home service task too small to be willing to work on as other companies have. Everyone in the crew was clean and neat in appearance and arrived right on time. I'm the type that wants to know stuff and I asked a lot of questions. They were always courteous and friendly in answering everything I "needed" to know. After the install, they went over each piece with us, including the new fancy thermostat. The system is fantastic - it's so quiet - and it works great! However, their flat rate pricing resulted in my wife and me paying $790.42 for an hour's worth of actual plumbing work for what turned out to be two simple tasks--removing and installing a new faucet in the kitchen sink and draining our hot water heater. Roth Home's initial price for the faucet repair was $878.24. They also drained the hot water heater while they were here. We did not ask questions about what was involved and how long it would take (our mistake). When we questioned the charges after the work was done, we were given a 10% senior discount. Later they said we weren't charged the usual fee of $336 to drain the hot water heater. According to them, we were "only" charged $790.42 and received a "savings" of $423.82. Our recommendation is to ask questions and proceed with caution. Document what you are told (and by whom) and how long any work takes.

My giggles quickly turned to tears. I messaged the seller. She felt terrible, my poor little lamp probably got manhandled in customs and lost the head. The seller felt terrible, she actually refunded all my money including shipping. That was a lovely gesture. I was determined to get the head restored. As I do with all projects I need done I ask Yelp. As always, Yelp did not let me down. As I recall, Jason at The Conservation Lab didn't reply to my quote request, I tracked him down. One art restorer quoted me $1000.00. Jason quoted me $275.00. I said yes immediately. I had actually poked around on his website and was really impressed with the quality of his work. Quite frankly I was shocked that an artist of his caliber was only charging me $275.00 for such a difficult job as recreating a ceramic head for my peacock lamp. But I'm grateful that someone like him is making art restoration accessible to people like me. I gifted him with a charcoal drawing I did. It took him about a month. This job was no small task. He sent me photos of the finished product. I was thrilled. It looked gorgeous. My dad picked it up to rewire it from EU wiring is USA wiring.
