Legitimate, talented and personable (friendly). I got my 5th and 6th tattoo here. Tattoo art studio: Very large and spacious, including an art gallery section. Each artist has their own private room, which have walls covered in drawings and designs of wonderful sketches. Artists & skills: I've had two tattoos by two different artists. The first one was done by Ariana but she at the time of this review no longer works there. The second was done by Matt who has been a licensed tattoo artist doing his craft for many years now at Raw Ink. These guys a skilled and talented. You share with them your idea and give you their input and experience so that you could make a more enlightened decision on your tattoo design. I really appreciated their input because a slight modification can mean a huge difference in the end product. I wish I had one of the many 5-star experiences people seem to have had recently with this place. I booked a design consult in Dec 2020, drove almost an hour and showed up on time (7pm) to a closed studio but Bobby's car was out front. No one answered the phone so I emailed back to my apptmt email and immediately got a text from Bobby that he was sorry but he has a migraine and he will contact me on Monday to reschedule. I gave him the benefit of the doubt but I have a couple of friends who get migraines, you know it's coming so I could have been called ahead of time. Whatever, we could reschedule that's fine. Monday, not a peep. I call the studio during the week, no one answers the phone and the vmail is full. I text Bobby back several times, no answer. The guy basically ripped me off my deposit, which of course for his security is non-refundable. But I was a responsible customer, I showed up on time (both apptmts: initial and design apptmt). Given the sketchy track record I see on here maybe we should be getting security deposits from him... I hope he used my hard earned money for something appropriate but I tend to doubt it . This is something I've been meaning to write for a very long time. A few years back my best friend and I were looking to get matching tattoos. We finally decided on a design and I had heard great things about Raw Ink and Bobby so I we went to go check it out. We spoke to Bobby, got a quote and set up our appointment. I couldn't have been more excited. Little did I know things were about to go so wrong. A few weeks later my friend and I showed up for our appointments which were scheduled to start at 3pm. When we arrived we were told that Bobby wasn't in yet and we were ushered to the waiting area. After waiting a total of 4 hours we were finally brought into the studio by an assistant at 7pm. When Bobby finally walked in he had cuts all over his face and was carrying multiple boxes of band-aids. The only explanation we received for his lateness was "Sorry, there was a band-aid problem." After getting his "band-aid" issue under control we were finally ready to start. He laid the stencil down on my best friend and it immediately looks wrong. I guess this should have been the first sign that we should have got up and left but for some reason we decided to stay. After all was said and done we both had hideous tattoos that looked nothing like what we asked for. (by the way if you can't tell from the photo I don't blame you its suppose to be a diamond) We went back the next day and complained but he was incredibly unprofessional about the matter. We later heard from friends that he had gotten into using hard drugs around the time that we had our work done and things started adding up. Bobby was booked out, no surprise... but, we were able to make an appointment with Jason. He listened to our idea, and was able to stencil out the design exactly how we imagined it. He was done with each of ours in about 10 minutes, and gave great instructions on the healing process. Jason also guarantees his work for life and offers free touch ups. They also have an entire side of the shop set up for live music and events. If you live in the area, check them out. As for the shop, imagine an estate sale for a rock in roll legend. That's the vibe when you walk in. Tons of cool, random, stuff everywhere. Definitely a happy customer. I'll be back again in the fall to get another piece done. read more

I can't speak to the tattoos as I haven't had work done here (yet) however Linh their piercer was awesome to work with. For some reason, Ambrotos does not do septum piercings and turned away my business and I called Raw Ink who were able to fit me in right away. Linh was down to earth, professional and walked me through every step of the process and not only that but she was super quick! I was told he was tattooing someone (none of the other artists was even there -- bad sign that says this shop isn't doing well) but he'd be with me shortly. I waited for almost an hour, shooting pool and enduring the cliche Cookie Monster Death Metal blaring on the overhead speakers (seriously, so cliche. BRO, WE'RE A TATTOO SHOP BRO), before I got fed up and left. The receptionist was nice and apologized and asked if I could maybe stop by later that night. I declined and went to a different shop (Stone the Crow) instead and had an amazing experience, so it all worked out for the best. I know Bobby was busy but I'd called ahead and come on...you can't take a five minute break? Potential customers deserve better service. Avoid at all costs. read more

Owner is nice enough but nobody else seems to know or care about anything. This place is an exercise in frustration. I called them to ask if they could remove the jewelry I mistakenly put in my septum piercing and couldn't get out. I mentioned that I had put in the wrong type of stud (meant for a lip piercing) and couldn't get a hold of it to remove it. They said no problem and to come in whenever. When I came in, the owner took a look at it and said he thought it was just the normal jewelry and I would have to come back when the piercer was in on Friday. So I come back and he wasn't there, he was off that day. I later make a call to schedule an appointment, I come in, put a $10 deposit down (I wanted to get 2 ear piercings after getting the septum jewelry removed), and schedule an appointment for that Friday when I am done with work. I come in that Friday and he has left for the day! At this point I was so frustrated that I demanded my deposit back (to their credit, the receptionist was very apologetic and did give me my deposit back), and swore never to go there again. People were nice, but the wait was long and nobody seemed able to figure out what was going on. No consistency. I went about five times and never got service. I was ready and willing to spend money on the removal and new piercings, but they were just very inept at scheduling. They might be better when it comes to tattoos, but this is based off of my experience. read more

I am currently in the process of working with Bobby to get a piece I've wanted. He works hand in hand with what I am going for and also draws out the design for you. He is honestly a master at his trade, I would highly recommend him. As for the other artists, I have seen all of their work and I would also trust them as well. As for the building itself, It is very clean. The bathroom is always clean as a whistle (a must). There is also a really cool art gallery within the building. There have been consistent live events there as well which are really cool if you are local. Overall, I would highly recommend checking them out if you are looking for any tattoo, coverup, piercing. My son had his first tattoo done at Raw Ink 6 years ago when their shop was up the street from where they are now. I went in this past Tuesday (11/15/2016) afternoon and they took me without an appointment. Matt was my artist. I gave him 3 pictures of what I wanted. He took them and turned them into exactly what I envisioned! He did all 3 tats within 2 hours. He had nice music playing, I was so relaxed that it didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. It actually hurt more the day after I had it done!! He explained everything thing he was doing and why. The cost was VERY reasonable!! I will be going back! Came here to get an old tattoo retouched and Danny did an amazing job!! There was a bit of a struggle trying to set up an appointment but the end result was well worth it. The only blip on the radar was the price, a few days before I texted Danny and told him I wanted to add some more swirls and lines to my design and asked if it would change my quoted price. He said not to worry about it and that he'd draw it the day off. Well at the end of session he quoted a price that was about $50 higher than the original. He explained that the design became more intricate and took longer than originally expected. Which is fine , but at that point I only brought enough for the quoted price and tip My tattoo healed amazing though and I'm extremely satisfied with the work. I had a fairy tattoo done by someone who no longer works at raw ink and I was 22 when i got it and thought it was ok but i dont like to complain. Raw Ink was praised by a woman I know who got her beautiful tattoos done there. I decided to try and get a walk-in appointment for ear piercings. The whole facility was extremely clean, professional, and friendly. My piercer, Linh, was very informative and answered my many questions. I wanted an unusual pattern of studs and she told me what would work best with my ear shape. I felt that my safety and comfort was being put above any desire to make money. On my first visit everyone was super friendly and I initially just went in to make an appointment with Bobby to start a sleeve. We talked it over and he set me up for three appts. It is now a month-ish later and time for my first appt. I get there and the artist is not there. The lady at the desk calls him and his phone is off. The only thing she tells me is that he works so much and sometimes he just doesn't come in. She took my number and told me that she would call me when and if he was coming in. Needless to say I never got a phone call and I am extremely upset about this. It seems like if the artist wasn't going to be in that day that I should have gotten a phone call before my appt to cancel or reschedule. I can completely understand an artist needing a day off. I myself work 6 days a week and a ton of OT on top of that. I myself struggle for days off also but this was so not professional. I actually used one of my vacation days for this appt and I only get one week of vacation a year. I am still in the dark about when we are going to get started on this work. Its the next day now and still there has been no phone call to reschedule or cancel all together. I am just highly disappointed at the lack of professionalism. I was drawn to this artist because it his work was some of the better work I saw in the area but now I am wondering if that means they this it is okay to just forget about certain appointments. The staff is always friendly and courteous, Eric has been a family friend since my sister was in middle school it's amazing how time goes on and we all pick up a new trades! He's a very very talented artist lettering, pictures, freehand he's got a lot of talent very creative or if you bring him something he can do it or freestyle off of it! Horrible customer service. My husband had gone into raw ink one evening to inquire about getting a tattoo. He had spoken to Matt, who told him to bring in his art and also send in the pictures of what I wanted for myself. We dropped off the drawing and emailed in my pictures and never ever heard back. Not only were we told the picture would be given directly to him, but that we would hear back within a few days! He never called us back to set up and appointment, and we also emailed him, only to get no response. Here we are a month or so later, and still no word back.
