From the small back deck you can look over this town all the way to the high cliffs that drop into the ocean, creating picturesque views of the orange, red and pink sunset. We arrived to a small sign personally welcoming us. Niall and Darra treated us like family while we stayed at their house and even dined at their table. They were personally acquainted with the entire area and gave us honest recommendations for spending our days there. We were able to see the Cliffs without crowds because of their directions. We then had the perfect dinner of local food at Roadford House where we walked along stonewalls past cows, horses, and sheep to the intimate dining room overlooking pastures. We ended the night by enjoying local music at O'Connor's Pub just a minute walk from the Sea View. We would highly recommend staying at the Sea View for at least a few nights on your trip to Ireland. Thanks again Darra and Niall, Ryan and Cristina

The guest rooms were immaculate and very spacious. We even had a view of the ocean from our room, true to name. :) The B&B is located just above the main street of Doolin, very close to Gus O'Connors. The guest lounge had a few books on history of the area. There were a few bottles of wine available for purchase on the honor system, which was a nice touch if you wanted to take it along on an evening stroll along the beach. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, with most of the ingredients coming out of the kitchen garden. My hubby even had a choice of duck or chicken eggs from the family's own birds!

The place definitely screams of vintage furniture with fireplaces dotting the interior. It's a little stodgey with falconry and fishing however it all seems to work. We did the three course dinner at their nicer restaurant and it was fabulousn. Along with great flavors the presentation was phenomenal The only downside is that they don't have AC which usually isn't an issue but we visited during a hotter time. However the upside is that you get complimentary breakfast where they fresh squeeze orange juice plus the service is impeccable.

The stately castle hotel, part of the Relais and Chateau association, is a welcoming beacon in the Connemara. Adjacent to a trout/salmon stream just a mile from the ocean and featuring extensive woodland walking trails, one can't help but feel at peace. In fact there's an overwhelming feeling of coziness and calm in the spacious suites with a view to the woods and water. Our suite, #36 was so quiet and beautiful it was a treat returning to it after exploring the wild Atlantic way. The two easy chairs with views quickly became our his/hers perches for reflection. Our superior king suite itself was very large with a four poster bed and ample room to spread out and settle in while the generous bathroom with its tub, shower, two sinks and make up desk added to our comfort. With its two restaurants the fisherman's pub (casual) and fine dining Owenmore restaurant one never need seek sustenance elsewhere. The beautiful breakfast that was included provided masterfully cooked to order entrees along with a sumptuous buffet each morning to get you started on your day of exploration. We also enjoyed the beautiful walled garden which is not to be missed and some of the well Maintained walking trails through ancient forest. Exceptional property and lovely (but too short) stay. Highly recommended

Sandra was a ray of sunshine in the midst of a rainy afternoon, providing shelter and sustenance to our travel weary group. I loved the layout of the rooms; each bearing the name of a famous Irish author. There were books by and pictures of the author and in the general housekeeping booklet, there was a brief history of them as well. I was upstairs in the W.B. Yates room. The large slanted windows allowed natural light to fill the room and show off the colours and design of the decor. The bed was spacious, and extremely comfortable, and the down comforter valiantly fought of the cold that was trying to creep into my bones. I also loved the bathroom area; quaint and modern at the same time. When we had rested and gotten the lay of the land from Sandra, we enjoyed some time playing chess and relaxing. It felt as though we were in a home away from home. This is the house that I would have built and decorated if I decided to live with some of my best friends in Ireland. In your room, you could pre-order what you wanted for breakfast in addition to the continental breakfast buffet that was available. You could list the time you wanted breakfast and the dish, and just show up downstairs in the morning. I ordered the melted cheese and toast, eggs and bacon. We were greeted in the morning with hot tea or coffee, while looking across the grasses all the way out to the waves crashing on the cliffs. On slightly warmer, less windy and rainy days, I think having breakfast outside would be quite the treat. I loved every minute of being at Doolin Views and was extremely gracious for Sandra's hospitality. My only regret was that we were only able to stay for one night, especially as the price was quite reasonable. It feels like the type of place where you could relax and fully recharge the batteries of your soul and make you ready to face the world. If your travels take you to Doolin, you would be well advised to spend some nights at Doolin Views.

My daughters also found a gorgeous route for their morning run. There is a spacious parking lot, which was not the case at most of the other hotels. Our room was light and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately, the water in the shower was unpredictable and it was usually cold with a blast of scalding hot water every now and then; however, this did seem to be a trend at most European hotels. When we checked in the kind lady at the reception desk spent time telling us about the hotel, things to see and do in the area, and showed us to our room. The breakfast room was comfortable and the food was good and filling. The service was very, very slow. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend my friends to stay as well.

When you enter the main door, first impressions are that you've let yourself in for a 3 star rating or even less stay at this hotel. But don't be fooled by the need for a good upgrade, a lick of paint or even leveling some sloping floors! - it all adds to the charm of Hyland's and would probably be an entirely different place if it was modernised. The staff, while lacking in some managerial direction in times, were, on the whole really friendly and helpful and went out of their way to be as attentive as possible even during the peak busy times. Breakfast was amazing with a huge choice and absolutely tons of food - but certainly needed before heading off for a long days walk on the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and surrounding areas. Absolutely delicious freshly made brown bread - almost hot from the oven - all hot courses at breakfast were ordered and served by the waiting staff, while fresh fruit and cereals were on the self-service table. We had a truly excellent dinner on our first night, with a huge choice for each course and again large portions, but very nicely presented. Parking is available at a very narrow entrance just as you pass the front of the hotel on the left. WiFi is only available downstairs in the mainly lobby or bar area which is a bit of a nuisance. I would highly recommend this wonderful homely hotel which is right in the heart of the gorgeous village of Ballyvaughan - with lots of other nice pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and Cafes on its doorstep, not to mind the wonderful location as a hub for walking as I've already outlined above.

It was very close to the Cliffs. Not only was it convenient, but more importantly it was such a pleasant stay that exceeded our expectations. The hotel manager was so accommodating and inviting. They reserved us a table and had live music that night for dinner. I ordered the beef and Guinness stew and it was my favorite meal of the trip. The live music was so fun and entertaining. It is uniquely charmless, poorly located, with horrible accommodations. It's more like someone's hobby. The first floor is filled with literally thousands of books and an enormous number of very personal portrait like paintings. We never got to see the upper floor rooms with a view, but I can assure you that any other room in the hotel is absolutely atrocious. Ours overlooked the parking lot, had a broken window latch, and the noise from the parking lot and the adjacent road roadway were horrendous. Supposedly the upper floor rooms with a view are nicer, but I still can't recommend this hotel. We were booked for three nights left the first morning after one night and we charged two nights. The hotel is advertised as the closest to the cliffs. It hardly matters because everything is close to the cliffs. We were miraculously redeemed by being able to stay in Doolin- at the amazing Balinalachan Castle Hotel. It is much better located for all the things you're going to want to do, including being very close to some of the best pubs and food and the ferry terminal where you can go out to the Aran Islands. And the food at the castle is Michelin quality without the price or the fuss. We traveled for two weeks and stayed in five different hotels and B&B's but the Cliffs of Moher Hotel should be stricken from anyone's list who wants an-authentic enjoyable well located hospitality experience. It was really awful.. but we did have a very soulful discussion with a young Ukrainian woman who moved between the front desk and breakfast service. She made this a truly human experience aside from the atrociousness of the hotel
