Chicken karahi (boneless, $28.99 for 2 people)
Aggie S.

My friend and I decided to try out Pakistani food because we were craving kabobs so we yelped it and found Ravi because it was closest to us! We were a little confused as there are 2 Ravis on the same street literally right across from each other. So we decided to go to Ravi II as there were more parking spots and no one was in the restaurant. My friend and I had received a recommendation to order Chicken Karahi and another dish but the Chicken Karahi was served for 2 people so we ordered that. The place looks like a hole in the wall and small but these places always have the best food because it's homecooked! The person working the register (which I think is also the owner) was very helpful to us and also helped us pick which item to choose. We ended up with boneless chicken karahi. We also ordered one side of rice which was enough for 2 people and the item came with naan, chutney, and salad. Our food came in this huge wok and it looked extremely appetizing and smelled so good. We took some pictures for instagram and yelp and we were ready to dig in! The meal was flavorful and exceeded my expectations. Usually, it is so difficult to eat food you are not familiar with and I had no idea how to eat everything together! It was such a great experience to eat dishes from another culture and to be able to share that moment with another friend who is slightly familiar but not an expert. The owner/worker kept checking on us how we were doing and the next thing you know, the restaurant was flooded with people eating in and taking out! I'd say we brought the business that day haha! The owner gave us menus for the future and had asked us how we felt about the food - of course we told him it was delicious! We would definitely come back with our friends here and teach them what we learned! Can't wait to try the other dish on their menu! FYI: this place is CASH ONLY so make sure you have enough cash, but they do have an ATM inside so no worries!

Ravi Kabob is a favorite in the Arlington area, and this spot is right across the street and owned by the same people. After eating at the first Ravi kabob for years, I have to say this one just isn't as good. It was quiet, nearly empty when we came in for dinner and it took quite a while to get our meal. The food was just ok, not what I'm used to at Ravi Kabob. The rice was well spiced but nothing special, kabob was tough, and the samosa special by far the best thing we had. I'll be sticking to the original from now on

Over the last 6 years, I've frequented the original Ravi Kabob House for their amazing Ravi Special with extra chick peas. Only recently did I find myself here at Ravi Kabob House II. We came as a party of five, so we decided to share a couple of dishes - chicken karahi, mughaz karahi, lamb kabob, and an extra side of chick peas (some things never change). You get rice, naan, salad, and sauces as accompaniments. The food was all delicious, with my favorites being the chicken karahi and lamb kabob. You're guaranteed an authentic meal here that will satisfy your taste buds. Service was very friendly and helpful too. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. I would definitely come back here again, especially for karahi dishes.

Came here for an earlier breakfast/brunch. It's a little bit heavy for breakfast, but it's very typical Desi breakfast. We had the poori with Chana and halwa. Definitely a unique place to check out

Called in an order for pickup last last night and ordered the special samosas and the ravi kabob special. This location is right across the original ravi kabob house but less crowded. We picked up the food and when we got back home they called to tell us they forgot our samosas and would throw in a free one for the trouble of us driving back. They were very apologetic but the food was just mediocre to me. The rice was plain and dry and the chicken was not as moist as Im use too but the flavor was good. I liked the other meat kabob that came with the special because it was packed with spices. The star of the dinner was the samosas because it was layers and layers of goodness. If you dont like spicy you might not enjoy as much but its a must try.

Halwa Puri. Enough said. Omg. Where have you been all my life. I've traveled and lived in many places and somehow I have only managed to find it here. But I'm so Happy that I have found you. Tho my doctor would not agree with that. No Trans Fat he says. Blah blah blah... I guess it's a good thing that it's only served on weekends. Tho I wish it was daily so I can get it whenever I want! So this Ravi kabob ll is a little different from the original. They have halwa Puri here on weekends and the other one doesn't! No attendant here so you have to DIY which I don't mind especially when they have my favorite item. Same thing the curry and veg is good here. Also not a fan of their naan bread. So weekends here and weekdays the Original. So I have learnt to get 2-3 orders on the weekends to last me for a few days. Sometimes I'm just a genius when it comes to food. Haha. Service is great an accommodating. The owner always makes sure I get only dark meat and extra sauce!! Would highly recommend. Puri has me hooked!!!

This review is largely for their weekend brunch menu when they do halwa/puri/channa and nihari. I've eaten there once and done takeout a second time on a weekend and I cant say enough good things about their food - truly authentic Pakistani food. When you try Ravi Kabob, you need to go in with an open mind and realize that authentic Pakistani food involves a good amount of oil - don't fear though, because a lot of it can be removed by tipping over your nihari or whichever dish into another empty container. The halwa/puri is to die for and probably the best I've had in the DMV area. The nihari is almosttt as good as my mom's and being away from home I truly appreciate how it is just right on the spice level and has the same traditional flavor to it. The halwa (semolina) is just sweet enough and not overbearing. Their chai has always been on point as well. The restaurant itself is pretty casual, clean, and comfortable. Service is great too.

Ravi has the best chicken kabobs in town! Both locations are right across from one another. This one seems less hectic on the weekdays and has slightly better parking lol. You can't go wrong with either one.

Chicken Tikka (bone-in) Kabob

When you are eating something that is burning the crap out of your lips and you just can't seem to put it down - you know you've got something good in front of you. That is the special samosa at Ravi Kabob. Take a samosa. Chunk it up in a bowl and top it with chick peas, tomatoes, cilantro, onions and a yogurt sauce. UNBELIEVABLE! It was incredibly spicy at times, but I quickly learned to just eat it without letting it touch my lips and was good to go. Its a pretty good portion and I could easily make a meal of just it and a piece of naan. Last night at dinner with Aine and Ben however I'd also ordered a chicken tikka kabob and most of the juicy bone-in chicken, chick peas, salad, naan and rice went untouched and got boxed up to go. No worries though. It was just as good as leftovers today when I emerged from my food coma. The naan was just so-so (even when fresh the previous night), but everything else was flavorful and delicious. I had no clue what I'd been missing all the years I've driven past. Now I do - and I like it!

The best kabob in Northern Virginia! Seriously! The food is incredible. Inside the restaurant is pretty minimal and barebones.

Impeccable customer service. Food is great but the people are what really makes this place one of my favorite to go to. Great halwa puri.

The food was full of flavor, freshly prepared, and really exceeded our expectations. The ribeye steak skewer and tandoori chicken were especially outstanding. PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING:…read more I decided to give this place a try after being recommended their Chapli Kabobs and being told they were the best. I couldn't resist and decided to treat my mom to a dinner on Mother's Day. What we ordered: Chapli kabobs, lamb karahi, chicken biryani, lassi and chai. Food was okay, i honestly think any Pakistani moms' biryani would be better. Chapli kabobs were pretty good but not to die for. And i honestly think you can find better karahi for cheaper. I loved their chai the most out of everything. Total came down to around $120. Plenty of parking is available in the back. But it was completely empty when we walked in around 5pm on a Sunday. This place has ROACHES. When we got our naan for the karahi, it came on a skewer stand that came out of a wooden block. As soon as the waiter set it on the table and left, a baby roach crawled out of the wooden block. I killed it and told the waiter and the only thing he said was "Oh my God" and took it back to the kitchen. No apology or acknowledgment. But there was some yelling heard from the kitchen. We got our new fresh naan on a plate this time. After we got our chai and were relaxing, I look up towards the tv, there is ANOTHER ROACH crawling up. I got the check and just wanted to leave. The bathrooms were clean enough but there was a leak coming from the flush handle in the women's bathroom and there was a bucket underneath for the water to drip. Overall, I would not recommend and would rather try the other Middle Eastern/South Asian restaurants in the area to try.
