Baingan bhartha with roti and paneer 65

Got food to go but the setting seems nice and clean although there was no one dining in on. Sat evening. The cashier was attentive and answered my queries. The paneer was spicy and delicious but its was a tiny portion 4 very small pieces of paneer. The bharta was nice but the peas were uncooked and did not taste much of baingan. The roti was tough.

We loved the place. Lamb karahi was very good! And my picky child raved about the tasty rice.

We ordered the half parrillada: argentina and it was a good amount of food for two people. The steak came out medium rare as we asked but it really didn't taste like it had much seasoning. The chorizo was full of flavor though and the milanesa sandwich was surprisingly very good (wish they added a condiment though haha but we asked for mayo). The way everything came together in that sandwich worked really well. The plantains were just okay but the mashed potatoes were SO good and creamy. Maybe the best thing on the menu Service could have been better. After being greeted it took around ten minutes before anyone came back to take our order and our waitress didn't check on the table much during the meal. It felt a little unorganized and we had to go find the waitress and ask for a to go box and the check. Overall there were definitely some standout items With more consistent service and better seasoning on the steak this place could easily be five stars. Here's my ratings! Steak: 7.5/10 Chorizo: 9/10 Milanesa: 8.5/10 Mash Potatoes: 10/10!! Plantains: 3/10 Empanada Queso: 1/10

We love their crabs and especially the Clam Chowder and the BLTs - w crispy bacon and coleslaw - and don't forget to put the JO Crab seasoning on it from their shaker. We went on Black Friday just before the dinner rush and had really great crabs. They brought us buckets and crab mallets to make our adventure a little easier! They were packed with flavor, but were slightly overcooked. We were short a crab, but we never mentioned it. At the time we got to the end it was so filling we didn't even bother. It was my niece and nephews first time having a Maryland style crab picking session. We also got the Mac and cheese (which I have to admit was way too oily), and I forgot to get a photo. We also got salads, which were pretty standard salads. As for the location, it is hidden away on a small hillside in the suburbs of DC. There isn't a ton of parking. The restaurant is unassuming. It was frigid outside, but both the "indoor" patio, with heaters was warm, and inside the restaurant. The interior is a bit "cafe" ish, with standard 2-4-6 top tables. I would say they couldn't fit more than 100 people in these two rooms at once. But don't fret, there is an additional basement and bar area! The bathrooms are downstairs on the bottom floor, so this may be something to consider if you have anyone with special needs who cannot get up and down stairs. Overall, we will definitely go back, and appreciate the space and the food. It's pretty wonderful for a quaint crab house! I've already recommended it to other folks!

They had some good soulful music playing in the background, and it gave off a real welcoming, at-home type of vibe. I believe the owner took my order, and broke everything down for me, which I appreciated. I ordered the fish and shrimp. The fish was very good and well-seasoned. The shrimp were jumbo, fried golden, and had a lot of flavor. Portions were solid -- I didn't even finish everything in one sitting and had some left for the next day. They also had a frozen fruit punched lol. That was a nice touch and fit the whole vibe of the place. Not a sitting area but this is a place you call your order in before you get there and take it back to the house. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience. If I'm back in the area, I would definitely come back and grab another plate. If you're looking for some good seafood (and more), this is a spot worth checking out.

It's carry-out only and located on the top of mini hill with some auto repair shops surrounding it. Parking was a bit stressful, but the promise of good food made it worth it. The menu was pretty straightforward, and we got our food after a short wait. DINNER: WHITING - 20 + two sides: mac & cheese, coleslaw The fried whiting fish was thin, but perfectly crispy (even after a 20 minute car ride) and well-seasoned. Each bite was flavorful. The mac & cheese actually tasted 3D, unlike the bland, powdered cheese that is used at most places. It was on the thicker and chunkier side, the more I ate, the more addictive it got. The coleslaw was very refreshing and not too creamy. The portions were large, and my friend and I were full after sharing the platter. BREAD PUDDING - 4 This was fine, but not out of the ordinary. Probably wouldn't get it again. Overall, this is a hidden gem that is worth going to. I was worried the fried foods and heavier sides would irritate my stomach's sensitivity, but none of that happened here! Will definitely be back for other entrees and sides!

The actual restaurant feels massive but decorated in a rustic way. I want to give a huge shout out to Alicia. She is such a knowledgeable, approachable, and receptive server. She was on top of refilling drinks, making sure we weren't left alone for too long when we were waiting for our food to come, and just had an overall amazing energy. While we really enjoy all of the servers we've had at Mikes, Alicia takes the cake. If there's any way to provide her with recognition, I would highly vouch for it. She could sell me anything on that menu with that kind of personality! Thank you, Alicia! I'm going to make sure we try to get seated at your table again.

As expected, it was busy, but the restaurant does have a fairly large parking lot which made arrival easier. The setup was interesting. After checking in downstairs, I was given a ticket and directed upstairs for seating. I took the elevator, which offered a clear view of the kitchen below as it ascended... definitely a unique touch. Upstairs, another host staff guided us to our table. The space had a lively feel, roaring with chatter from customers, and I could see parts of the kitchen where food was being prepared over an open flame, which added to the overall atmosphere. For the food, we started with the calamari. It was cooked well and had a nice texture, especially paired with the crispy onion shoestrings, which added a good crunch and flavor. It was served over a lobster sauce, although the lobster flavor wasn't very noticeable. The main issue was the salt level... it was quite heavy! I did enjoy it overall, but I would only recommend it to someone who doesn't have to watch their sodium intake. For entrées, I ordered the steak cooked medium with broccolini. The dish automatically comes with mashed potatoes, and while I was able to substitute the salad for broccolini, there didn't seem to be flexibility with the potatoes. After tasting the mashed potatoes, I wish I was offered to substitute it as it tasted like the brown box we grew up on where you just added water. When the food came out, the steak was closer to medium-well or well done rather than medium, and both the mashed potatoes and broccolini were a bit cold. I chose not to send it back since we waited but it did affect the overall experience. My guest ordered the ribs with fries and coleslaw. The ribs were well-prepared--tender with a clean pull off the bone--and were probably the highlight of the meal. The fries were also very good and came out hot. The coleslaw wasn't as well received, described as having too many of the tougher parts of the cabbage. Overall, the experience had some positives, especially in terms of atmosphere and certain menu items like the ribs and fries. While I did enjoy parts of the meal, it's not somewhere I would personally return to, but it may be worth trying once to form your own opinion.
