Hubby chose pancakes over toast and he is glad as he said they were fluffy and golden brown. And to finish off this wonderful experience was the Neillsville High School Homecoming parade. We ordered the patty melt, deep-fried green beans, the fish special (garlic-seared haddock), and finished the meal with a chocolate malt for dessert. The fish dinner came with a small salad, which was a nice way to start the meal. It included a nice mix of fresh vegetables, shredded cheese, and croutons. When the entrée arrived, everything was hot and tasty. The haddock was well seasoned with plenty of garlic, although I would have liked just a bit more searing. The crinkle fries were plentiful and very good. The patty melt was cooked exactly as ordered, medium rare, with a nicely seared patty. The combination of American and Swiss cheese was gooey and delicious, and the marble rye was grilled perfectly. The side of deep-fried green beans was also good, although there was a little more breading than I would have preferred. We noticed they offered shakes and malts, so we saved room for a chocolate malt with extra malt. It was a terrific way to end the meal. They serve it with both the glass and the metal mixing cup, which makes it easy to share. The entire meal was less than $30. It was the best value we found during our entire trip.
