Excellent little brewery right in town. Awesome decor and a nice patio. You order your pizza separately at one window, and your beer from the bartender. Service was fast and friendly. The pizza was great, we tried the Meat Stacker on the spent grain crust and loved it. Just a note, open a tab if you're using a credit card, they have an understandable $3 fee per transaction. Prices are super reasonable, so not an issue at all.

Their Moon Ridge specialty pizza is DELICIOUS! Cute place. Definitely recommend. Amazing that a small town can have such a nice place.

Flight of some of the best. $8 flight. Can't go wrong!

Great beer! Definitely worth the stop! They have pizza and a few different sandwiches as well.

Great beer and awesome pizza. We live 3.5 hours away and were camping in the area. Thought we would give it a try. Went twice that week.

I got the pulled pork platter with coleslaw and Brussel sprouts. Pulled pork was bland and didn't have much flavor, lots of liquid on the plate. Coleslaw was coleslaw, take it or leave it. Brussel sprouts were the best thing I ate, they have hot honey and I'm a sucker for hot honey. The drink I had was a chocolate porter from Round Man brewery, it didn't have much flavor, I've had better.

The location is convenient, directly off of the freeway in rural Northern Wisconsin. The menu offers sandwiches, a salad, and platters that don't disclose just how little meat is included (assuming they were 1/4lb servings). I opted for the pulled pork, which unfortunately lacked any flavor besides apple cider vinegar. I had to not only drench it in BBQ, but for the first time ever I had to salt the meat. My coworkers left hungry when their platters included only 2 slices of brisket. Points for creativity on their sides. I love the variety of options, but none met my expectations in the slightest. Overall, the whole meal lacked flavor, seasoning, and they should work on their portions/prices. Spending over $20 on a platter here is a waste.

If…read moreyou've read my other reviews, you might note that I have a verifiable "thing" about old-school establishments and The Butcher Shop for me ticks all the old school boxes: glass cases displaying all on offer; butchering table a bit behind glass cases where meats are cut by these Rembrandts of protein; and succulent meats. Proper butchers greet you upon entering this Wisconsin shrine to meat and prepare to magnificent perfection the exact cut of meat you order. On this my first trip and after recovering my senses having been wowed by this little shop hidden in the woods, my particular friend and brother Bunky and I ordered porterhouse steaks (1 1/2" thick), 1"-thick boneless ribeye for the kids and for another day 1 1/2" center loin, boneless pork chops, and strips of double smoked bacon for the rotkohl to be served with pork chops. All meats will of course be grilled, steaks for 7 minutes on each side to yield charred, medium rare steaks. Oh, let me not forget to mention the smoked salmon that is so tasty and served as our biscuit for making the journey between lake cabin and The Butcher Shop. My particular friend and brother, Bunky enjoys a nearby lakeside cabin and will return as will I when next in Wisconsin. Oh, I will return, I will return and urge all who read this note to beat a direct path to the butcher shop whenever you find yourself in Wisconsin!

They have three round barrel high top tables (5 people?), one long table for 8-10 people, and a few swivel stools along the wall for seating. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by the employees and they were very helpful in answering our questions when we had a tough time deciding what to order. Platters come with two sides, pickles, onions are an option too, but I'm not a fan, and a piece of cornbread. I initially planned on one type of meat and some sides, but after watching those ahead of me in our group get their food I couldn't decide. Opted for a three meat platter and was very glad I did. Three meats I chose included pulled pork, brisket, and ribs. The ribs were falling off the bone, full of flavor and a great option. Brisket, which I don't usually choose because I don't enjoy the fatty pieces, was phenomenal. Pulled pork came in bigger chunks and was fine, but the brisket and ribs were the star of the show. Each piece of meat was pulled from the oven and sliced for us right at the counter. My sides were mac & cheese and the cucumber salad. The mac was nice and creamy with the right balance of cheesy goodness and salt, making sure it's not just a blah noodle. The cuke salad was also a delightful surprise. I was expecting more of a vinegar base since it is listed as fresh cucumber salad, but it came out as a creamy salad with dill. The tomatoes mixed into the salad are marinated, giving it another burst of flavor with each bite. The cornbread was a little dense, but it was sweet, and served with a hefty amount of butter. Overall, this southerner would rate this as the best BBQ I've found so far in Wisconsin. My father-in-law, who is hard to please when it comes to food, was also with us and I overheard him telling someone on the phone that "it was the best BBQ he's ever had." My husband was hoping to try the burnt ends, but they weren't quite ready for serving while we were there. During our visit, a team of employees was also preparing for a catering event. They all sat down at a barrel top table and discussed the upcoming event and the plan for the evening. Everyone seemed fully informed on what their job was and the upcoming menu and when it was to be served. I would have confidence in this group if I had an event they were catering based on the taste and their thoroughness in planning.

Yah Butz has been around for a number of years as some friends of ours gave us a couple of bottles of their bbq sauce a few years ago which we really enjoyed. We were back in the area again and our friends and picked up some of their que for dinner. Yah Butz is all prepared and packaged to go. There is not an option to eat at their location which is fine. They are located in lake country so it's a perfect meal to make at your cabin or home. This day we had ribs and brisket. Being somewhat of an aficionado, I believe I know good bbq. We heated up our meats and enjoyed a great meal. The ribs are falling off the bone tender. Usually a sign that the ribs were steamed, baked or even boiled. Against what I would normally believe. The ribs also were sauced where again I usually prefer my ribs naked. Well none of that mattered today as the ribs were meaty and delicious. I actually overate as they were kind of addictive. The brisket was also very good. Sliced a bit thinner than I prefer however after having a couple of bites, I went back for a couple more slices. This is darn good que. On our way out of town we stopped in to pick up some brisket and sauce to bring home with us since we may only get up this way once a year.
