I was here on a rainy January day. It was pretty quiet on a Monday night. I at the bar, the bartender was friendly. I had a glass of regional beer, I had the bruschetta, and a pasta dish with shrimp. Decided to come here for dinner. We had igloo reservations but we were a bit too chilly so we sat inside by the fire place. Service was very good, our waitress was by many times. Food was prompt. I had the mac n cheese with ribs and it was good. The portion size was large and I took half home. We also had bruschetta and that was really good. I'd love to see a couple more seafood options on the menu, but there was a decent amount to choose from. read more

Staying at the hotel and decided to give Libby's another try. Tonight's special was the German Schnitzel which sounded interesting. I'm a German Food Fan! I ordered the special which included spatzel, a side of veggies (broccoli and carrots) and a side salad for $16. I also ordered a bowl of The Chicken and Wild Rice soup (because I remembered that I liked it last time). Soup was $6. The place was pretty busy for a weeknight, one really large group was having a business dinner and most of the other tables were also full. I sat at the bar with at least four other customers. So it was pretty much at full capacity, or at least close to it. The 2 waitresses and bartender did a really good job of taking care of the all of the customers. Lots of hustle! My meal came out reasonably quick, especially with how busy they were. Really loved the spatzel, and the schnitzel was above average. Soup was good (again). Even though there was plenty of food, I decided that I still had room for some carrot cake... It too didn't disappoint. Lots of flavor, moist and nutty... and not overly sweet. I had one complaint about my meal... it was the terrible Iced Tea. I don't know if it was poured from a premix on there soda gun, or if they mixed it from some type of powder... but it was not good.... Undrinkable. A definite skip if you are an Iced Tea drinker. Overall, very good meal for a really reasonable price. If you are staying at the hotel, Libby's is a pretty good option for dinner. This is my 3rd time eating here and I am happy that this experience was on par with my first visit. read more

Beautiful restaurant in the hotel we stayed at. We were seated at a separate round, bar type table and loved the privacy. We wanted salad and they came with an entree. I enjoyed a simple, good sized one with homemade French. Basil liked the honey mustard. We both loved his walleye with no sauce. I had the unusual shrimp ziti sauteed in oil and mushrooms and parmesan. It was very good although I requested no bacon and had to pick it out. I loved the gingerale in a huge glass and was glad I could bring it to my room. I can't wait to try the meat items. Lindsay was our excellent server. read more

Out of all the places in Marshfield this was by far the worst. We made reservations on a Saturday for 8. Waited almost two hours for our food service was HORRIBLE. The food was horrible, and I would never recommend it to anyone. The serve was absolute not professional or helpful. Our 5 year old child hated the Mac and cheese off the kids menu, and our other kid in the group was crying because the waitress never wrote down her cheeseburger and she had to wait longer after all ready waiting 2 hours. Reservations was at 6:30 and we didn't leave this horrible restaurant until after 8:45. There menu has gone down hill, and so has there food and serves. read more

I recently had a class being held at Marshfield Hotel. Since Libby McNeil's is apart of the hotel and does their catering, lunch for our class was handled by them. I ordered the grilled chicken cesar salad both days. It's out of this world! The cesar dressing seems to be house made and is the greatest cesar dressing I've ever had. This is my go to meal at almost every restaurant my wife and I visit. However, the chicken cesar salad at Libby McNeil's is on another level! Thankfully I'm in Marshfield often for work and I vow to always get one when I'm in town. Check them out! read more

The only thing of value were the cheese curds and the salad. The $8 old fashioned is tasteless and not muddled. The prime rib is not roasted but merely a piece of meat with green spices buttered on after the fact. The side vegetables are promoted as steamed but I've had softer baby carrots straight from the fridge. The pasta is a greasy buttery goo. The service is worse than Applebees. All this for an $87 check for three. My money would have been better spent elsewhere. read more

I was staying at Hotel Marshfield, so the first night, I figured I'd give the hotel restaurant a try. I started with the Harvest Sangria- which was two thumbs up! For my meal, I got the Mac n' cheese with prime rib (minus the mushrooms). It came with a side salad to start. The side salad was fairly standard, but it was better lettuce than I've seen on some, so I appreciated that. The Mac was very good and the prime rib was cooked well. I wasn't a big fan of the breadstick that came with it though- it was unflavored and kind of dry. I saw they had desserts listed on a chalkboard (without prices listed, which irritates me a bit), and decided to give the turtle sundae brownie a try. I was expecting a small brownie, with maybe a scoop of ice cream on it. This dessert was MASSIVE. Three brownie pieces covered in ice cream, whipped cream, nuts and caramel. Needless to say, I could not finish it. I was given a BOGO drink card when I checked in, so for my second drink, I had the apple cider mule. Another two thumbs up. Overall, the service was good, and I didn't feel like I waited too long for anything. Although I was at the bar area, it wasn't too noisy and I was able to enjoy a book while I ate. read more

We checked into the Hotel Marshfield, not particularly knowing the area, while standing in parking lot with my family, my father waved down a pedestrian passing by to inquire where she recommended to eat. It happened to be an employee who worked at Libby McNeill's, the restaurant attached to Hotel Marshfield. From our beginning interaction calling her off the street to having her check on us several times throughout our meal to ensure we were enjoying our food, Lisa, the hostess was incredible. The entire party of six enjoyed their food. While I didn't personally try them, the rest of party couldn't say enough great things about their cheese curd appetizer. My partner had the chicken cordon bleu sandwich and was absolutely pleased. Personally, I had the patty melt burger on a gluten free bun, and they were super accommodating to my allergy. Our fantastic waitress, Amanda, recommended the chicken with wild rice soup for my side, which was surprisingly gluten free as well. It. Was. Amazing. Overall it was a wonderful experience, a special shout out to Lisa and Amanda who took wonderful care of my family and friends. Sure would recommend. read more

This was a very nice experience. The wife and I were really happy with the service and quality level. I ordered the Philly Steak and Cheese. Glad I did. Though we were just ordering from the sandwich menu, we were happy with having stayed in the Hotel for dinner. Because we didn't have drinks the bill was a 20 dollar idea. The worst service in town period. We waited 2 hours for our food and wasn't cooked how anyone had asked for it. The waitress was rude and we would have to walk up to the bar just to get a drink because our waitress was only at our table once every half hour. Honestly the best restaurant by far in Marshfield. I have been here a few times and will continue making a stop in when I'm up in the area. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is delicious especially the BLT salad and the big Mac cheeseburger. Their homemade soup wild chicken is amazing I even heard it one an award! My very favorite place to eat in the world. Everything on the menu is amazing. This is my one regular eating spot in town and I stop anytime I am in the area. They always have exceptional service and the best cheese curds and chicken wild rice soup I've ever tasted. Each course has something for everyone. In an establishment like the Hotel Marshfield, I expected the restaurant to be on par. Regretfully, I was extremely disappointed. I selected items that were Chefs Recommendations starting with the Fried Avocados. The avocados were hard and not ripe. The dish as a whole, just bland. Then I got the BLT salad. After a 30 minute wait, the salad arrived. Romaine lettuce, maybe two slices of cold bacon chopped, tomatoes, and pre-shredded cheddar cheese. Not something I would have on the menu much leads make it recommended by the chef. The service was good despite having to wait so long for what takes all of 5 minutes to throw together. read more

Service was extremely slow with one other table in the restaurant. Took 45 minutes to get our food. We asked for boxes and checks right away as we had to get back to a meeting in 15 minutes. They are the slowest at service in Marshfield. I have never ate at a restaurant that was so slow. They're Fish Fry was soggy and tasteless. Their hamburgers were overcooked and look like they were from frozen patties. The two times that I went all my friends and coworkers did not like it. Everything I have ever ate here has been delicious... I love the wild rice soup in the bread bowl and the buffalo chicken putine... but if you are in A hurry and want to get out within an hour, it won't happen... this is a place you would go when you aren't in a rush and are maybe trying to catch up with an old friend... it isn't a place you would go if you have an hour lunch as it takes at least and hour and 15/20 minutes from the point of order until your bill arrives.
